No, no, no, it doesn't work like that! Know that Jebs' RP choices usually don't reflect reality. You can't merge gems to absorb an element. Kiray's Fishy Scale Mail absorbs water as an effect of that artifact; imbuing the ruby works like any other artifact in that it allows immunity to fire.

If you're good at something, never do it for free. Disclaimer: I don't actually follow that philosophy to a T, but I think it's fair to have a service fee for discounted items, like Pretzel did as an Artisan. Both parties get a profit. And if it's actually a problem with abusing the class, then I won't do it, but it's nothing new. At first I thought abusing those kind of job traits should be ruled against (like Marauders being able to get free weapon upgrades). But swils said something about it being fair, and I kind of agree because it's only possible for other players to get the discount when a player of one of those classes is around, and it is just using the trait. There's no rule to say an Alchemist can't sell potions for a discount, yet.

I think it would be up to the player holding the artifact to discuss with Sandy/the QM who dropped it/the general public. For example, I've tried retconning a few items but they've not been fixed in the players' inventories (Sword of Decay, Flute of the Magi). Also I'm sure many QMs aren't even aware of the items they've created that could be retconned.

I'm glad people enjoyed the Training Room post. Maybe this discussion should be in R&D, but I was wondering about artifact suitability and retrofitting the suitabilities to fit new classes. For example, a lot of the artifacts that were suitable to mages, clerics and necromancers could be suitable to weather mages and scholars as well. And equipment for the tanky classes (knights, regulators, dragoons and skirmishers) could be used for the new vindicator class. Sandy has done some editing of the Marketplace artifacts to include suitability to new classes, but what about the artifacts in people's inventories? Should they see some retconning too or stay the way they are? Thoughts?

Despite the factors of this quest that fell short, I would really like to see another quest from you. 104 was really good from an outside perspective, and that's why I wanted in on 118 in the first place. Maybe you could use the lost Temple of Mercutio MOCs in another setting somehow. I will also agree with swils about the last grid battle. I am so very glad that we did not have to struggle through that, for the sake of time and the fact that it looked like a headache to strategize around. And also, the reveal was good. It was a twist that didn't quite save the efforts of the rest of the quest, but I didn't see it coming at all. If not for Ellaria I think we would've just massacred the whole town without blinking an eye and then headed home, wondering if we actually completed our mission.
