Is it OK to mix dark skinned mini-figures with yellow mini-figures?
JimBee replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
It depends. If its an official LEGO set (yellow skin), then no. TLG intended for yellow to be a neutral skin tone, for all races. When flesh came in, that changed. If its a custom, then yes, because you are not TLG, and yellow doesn't have to be neutral skin tone, especially if you want to emphasize that the fig is dark-skinned. -
As much as some of you don't want it, I voted Pirates of the Caribbean. I don't necessarily deeply desire this, it would be somewhat cool, and the options were too specific.

I sure hope not. When my fellow TFOL came over to my house the other day, he saw all of my 2008 Castle sets (he only has 2007, therefore only knew about Skeletons/ Knights), and exclaimed: "What happened to all of the Skellies? Did TLG kill them off or something?", and I thought of this topic. But I have seen one or two skellies in a few 2008 sets, but they are way fewer than before. My hopes are that TLG just wanted to get people introduced to the concept of orcs before they started to include both orcs and skellies in the new sets. Plus, there are still many Crownies in the Dwarf sets, so maybe the skeletons aren't gone. If they were, it would be two (dwarfs, crownies) vs. one (skellies), and even worse if elves come next year (assuming elves are on the crown side).

Who's brickshelf? Sounds interesting... And about the new clone BP, I wouldn't actually care for one. We already have a Phase 2 one, and whats the point if you already have those? Plus, they would be mixed up (Phase 1s and 2s). And please, don't jump me everyone, this is just my opinion, and I know you all want more of these new Phase 1s. I personally like Phase 1s better than Phase 2s or 3s, but as I said, we already have a BP for 2s.

General Grievous's Starfighter: Awesome set, you get 4 lightsabers, an awesome fig, a cool ship... all for only 20 bucks! If you want more reasons to love this, see my review! Another one would be the Hailfire tank and spider droid... I just love that tank! Especially the dark tan in there.

The Star Wars Comic Game-Season One
JimBee replied to JimBee's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
sorry, double post. But I would like to say that I will be gone at camp for 7 days, so I won't be back until Saturday next week (and then I'm getting an RGS once I get back! ) So, for the story, just pretend I'm there. See you guys! -
Indiana Jones: Henry Jones Sr.: Such a great torso, and the head is great too. Batman: New armored Batman: Look at the torso! Such detail! Too bad its grey and not black. Harry Potter: Stan Shunpike: I always loved that head, it was so cool. The torso was nice as well. I was so sad when I lost it in Italy.

Awesome, TDF! Hopefully you won't do a review! The figs look great, I wonder why they come with double gear?

Interesting, I always thought it was Meta Landi. No idea what that would mean, but now I understand your name better.

Seconded, I'm so tired of these decision threads...

Cool, from the only pic I can see. The pics on your Flickr are deleted...

I voted 2 for the presentation, it kept me waiting for the next part of your show, very entertaining. And I voted 3 for minifigs, nothing special, but a nice way to introduce me to some of the older figs that I missed out on and what the old Wild West theme was like.

I think the new, although I have never seen the old one in person. I have to disagree with you there, Sandy. Its just a fast transport to get troopers into battle faster. If it were a real vehicle in SW, then I'm sure it would have handholds so the troopers don't fall off, just like the RGS. As for balance, it would be fine going in a straight lie, but with sharp turns, maybe the platform would fall off. But use your imagination, it could have some sort of advanced mechanical system so it doesnt fall off, or something similar. It was a crane that was supposed be in the movie, but they took it out at last minute and replaced it with that tower that Dooku tries to drop on Ani and Obi. TLG never changed it, though.

Minifig Arm Techniques?
JimBee replied to Dark Sword Ragnarok's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
I do... but it still breaks... ah well maybe I don't know my own strength or something... -
No, but I have been to train fests here in cheeseville. Quite interesting, I really like the detail and commitment to some of the displays.

Like what CGH said in another thread, Get what you want.

Great idea! I like the swimsuits. Yeah, that would be cool. Throw in a pool, maybe a beach, and you have yourself a new front page banner!
-
You are very welcome, it looks excellent on my shelf. Expect to see more requests... uh I mean, LOTR and POTC customs soon!
-
Lets see... I would get a lot of minifigs, weapons, and vehicles. ( ) Battle packs are good, for both Castle and SW, but if you are looking to make a realistic army, I suggest brickarms (of course, you are already going there).

Sad but true... *sigh*

Minifig Arm Techniques?
JimBee replied to Dark Sword Ragnarok's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
While we are on the topic, can someone please tell me how to properly remove an arm from the torso? What I do is rotate the arm so its facing out, as if it were holing an object, then pull back. While works most of the time, the arm sometimes cracks or even breaks. -
Oh crap, they made the Plo Koon head a lot better! And the torso looks very promising!

The Sith Infiltrator. waaaaaaaayyyy to fragile, at least for me. I think TLG could improve it by attaching the cockpit to the hull better.

The Star Wars Comic Game-Season One
JimBee replied to JimBee's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Alright, now everything is settled. MacK and Oky Wan are on thier way to the pit fight (Gladiator style! ) [remember, simonjedi, nobody has any weapons, they were taken away, besides your flash capsules. The CIS wouldn't be stupid enough to let them keep their weapons] and brickbreaker is underneath in the tunnels, which he got into by digging, while Butcher, Annix, and Thok are locked up in the secret base. Remember to use colored text when explaining something about the story, folks. It gets really confusing if you dont. Butcher to Thok: So I saw that little silver disc you took out, a tracking device? Thok to Butcher: Yep, I'm sending the coordinates to Oky Wan's comm link. {Flashback: Butcher, after landing on Utapau} *Beep, beep* [butcher picks up his comlink as it alerts him that someone is calling it.] Butcher: Yes? Oky Wan: Commander, its me, Oky Wan. Ive met up with a few Republic allies, and we are almost in the atmosphere, so we'll meet up with you, alright? Butcher: Wait, what kind of allies? Oky Wan: Never mind that, just send me the coordinates, alright? Butcher: Yeah, let me get the location.................. alright, here they are. Oky Wan: Alright, good.
