Well, the rumors say that TLG is doing an Endor Bunker and a Hoth Base, so I would imagine that they learned from their mistake, and actually did two good sets, about $100 each. Besides, why would they re-release the Hoth base (not restock)? Just so it could be along side the Endor set with a door and a few trees? Didn't think so. I think (and very much hope) that TLG will make them both good. Here is what I would like these sets to look like: Hoth Base: -Door - A few Snowspeeders - Small transports - Taun-Tauns - Control Room - Health room - Wampa - Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Sonwtroopers (x3), AT-AT pilot, Leia, Rebel troopers (x3), Rebel commander Endor Bunker: - Lots of foliage - A big tree with a sniping postion - Bunker - Speeder Bikes - AT-ST -Ewoks (x4), Rebel Troopers (x3), Han Solo, Leia, Chewbacca, Scout troopers (x4), Stormtroopers (x2).

Very impressive, Guss! It is very detailed, and is a perfect example of what I would call Steampunk. How long did it take you to build this? Great job. This is right where Steampunk belongs, in other themes.

Temple of the Black Treasure
JimBee replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Nice little MOC, Erdbeereis. I really like the roof, very innovative. I also like the very clear and sharp pics you've taken, they make the MOC a pleasure to look at. -
I like it, but perhaps Qui-Gon could be posed a little differently? I kind of looks like he's helping an old lady across the street. A good vig, nonetheless.

Happy Birthday, Sam89, get lots of Lego! You too, Errorist! ISC, get a lot of SNOT!

Hehe... a little hint there, Bonaparte? Bigger than anything we've seen before... hmm...

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles -- SPOILER ALERT !
JimBee replied to SWMAN's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I agree, it can be slow if there aren't action scenes. I missed the last episode of the first season, but after seeing the "Last time, on..." from the first of the second, I didn't miss much. I also agree that Cameron is hot. -
Me too! I don't know what game you're playing, though. 007 Gondeneye Rouge Agent theme song. What I've Done- Linkin Park Bulls On Parade- RATM So Cold- Breaking Benjamin

SirSteve'sGuide is often a reliable resource, I went there a lot before I joined EB. We've heard about all of this, though, except the Pirate Tank. I wonder what that is?

Nice! I like the CIS sets better for some reason. I have all of the new ones. Bleh, the old MTT is ugly, in my opinion. But that AAT looks good. Keep adding more, Doc!

Power Miners: New Sets for 2009
JimBee replied to cartoondude's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I'm still a little unsure of this line. The color scheme of the vehicles is okay. Not the best combination, but orange and lime green are pretty rare colors normally. I wonder why they used blue and white or the minfigs though... I hope TLG reconsiders that. I might grab a few of the smaller ones, depending on the price. -
Hmm, I call the new dragons "<insert that tiresome argument>" because they are huge pieces made specifically for that purpose. I like the size of them, but the old dragons just look better to me. Like WhiteFang said, we all have our own opinions, and I respect yours, so this is mine.

Thanks for sharing this review of an awesome set, Mutely. My favorite part of the whole thing would be the Throne Room, I love the trans-blue pieces. The minifig count is quite impressive as well, I might make a BL order if I don't see that Sidious fig in any other sets. The whole thing is very impressive, but too expensive for me. I'll just leave this set for someone else who really wants it, and save my money for CW stuff.

Nice army. I think I have more CIS, though. Having two of each AT-TEs and RGSs must have been really expensive. I personally prefer one of each set, but cool army anyways. Like people have said before, it could use some Clone BPs, that transport from the Kashyyyk set, and also a Republic Cruiser.

Nice work, Sinner, and good idea. This will be good for CW dioramas. By the way, I didn't know walruses lived in the SW galaxy and went clam fishing near CIS bases!

The Star Wars Comic Game-Season One
JimBee replied to JimBee's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Jamiedoger, I would prefer it you went with Oky Wan and Simonjedi for now. I'm glad you joined, we've lost many players. Sorry for not posting pics lately, I haven't really had time. I'll try to do a small MOC while we're in the facility, though. Also, I thought parsec was a measure of distance? Eh, now that I think about it, maybe not... -
Yes, that's exactly my point. TLG could do an awesome, full-fledged set, which I would very much like, but they probably go the cheap way. How is the Hoth base a bad comparison? They do this with a lot of sets. Another example is the Republic Cruiser. The "escape pod" in this set is actually supposed to be sixteen-person conference room. While it would be much more expensive, it would be the complete way. I'm not sure whuch one I prefer, depending on the set.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles -- SPOILER ALERT !
JimBee replied to SWMAN's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Yes, I watched all of season one and am watching season two. New episode tonight. The acting is pretty good, and the person who plays John is a good choice. Same with Sarah. -
So you don't like it? I've seen a little bit of it, pretty funny. I need to stop quoting you, one Brainbox is enough.
-
Thanks, Brickster, this is one of my favorite of your reviews (I'm not sure why). This set looks like a nice one, with plenty of details to go around (although the inside of the station could have been more detailed). The car wash is probably the coolest part, and having two cars in this set is nice. I like your back drop on the last picture.
-
Well, just un-Lego-ness of them in general. They strongly remind me of the Megablocks Dragons (I have two). They have too much texture and design put into them, while the original dragons were simple and (what I consider to be), the original Lego style. I would prefer that TLG makes them a little bit bigger than they are (about half to three-quarts the size of these new dragons), but still keep the same look, and use more pieces instead of just maximizing the few pieces that make up the original one. Of course, we all have our opinions, and this is mine, ready for argument.

Thanks for the nice review. I wish I would have gotten this set (it's not still available, is it?). The mine cart and track were nice, as well as the gold and silver rocks. I didn't even know TLG made beards like that (I am so out of it when it comes to Castle... ). The amount and variety of weapons and tools was great.
-
Hm, while you are right about those things being in the movie and how TLG should design it like that, they most likely won't. Just look at the Hoth base for example. It's just a door, a speeder, and a turret, with no control room, healing quarters, landing bay, or anything. But I do wish that TLG would do these sets completely and thoroughly, at the risk of being expensive.
-
It's pretty good for a (part) megablock creation. I like the lava droid and the control room.

$100 for Palpatines arrest sounds like a little too much. Even with 6 figs, small sets have included a minifig count more or close to that, like the HSD (5). My guess is that the arrest will include a desk, a few chairs, a statue or two, and a special breaking window feature (along with Mace, Fisto, Tinn, Kolar, and Palpy, and maybe Anakin), which is fine for me. That'll come out to around $40-50, I think. Unless they decide to include Anakin and that luxury cruiser, which will add to the price by about $30. Either way, I think $100 for this set is a bit much.
