Is the ladder tall enough to reach the roof of the department store? If not, let's just go to the Jefferson's house. We're wasting time here, we were obviously never intended to go on the roof.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 poll
JimBee replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Well of course we are. Why does TLG do anything? To make money. That's what a company does. Do you really think that making the CM non-random will generate more of a profit? I actually think it would make less, because for people like me, I would buy one set of sixteen and call it a day (well, I still do by using BL and other sources, for a higher price), and people who buy them in the stores won't have to come back if they didn't get what they wanted the first time. Less profit. Bottom line, TLG is making a fortune on these, and no one is complaining. I'm sure the majority of the FOL community would rather have random than no figures at all. And besides that, you have barcodes/ dot codes, BrickLink/ Ebay, and bag feeling, so it's not always random for those who are willing to spend a little extra time or money. -
The least you could do is offer some feedback... I for one really like this entry, and like TPRU said, it's more about the shot than the build. The lighting in this one is really great, and the charging troopers create a really dramatic and epic effect.

Review of set LEGO Harry Potter 4752 - Professor Lupin`s Classroom
JimBee replied to Daniil K.'s topic in LEGO Licensed
Thanks for the review on a set I never knew about. I've always wondered where that kitten torso came from. A decent set, I like how the expressions of the minifigs are so similar to their movie counterparts. Also, welcome to the forums, Daniil. This is definitely a good way to introduce yourself! Your review is solid, but if you're interested, why don't you give the Reviewers Academy a try, to hone your skills? -
Thanks WhiteFang! Another great CM review. While I did feel more excited after reading your review, I'm still convinced that this series is just average compared to the others. Oh, well, at least we finally got an elf. By the way, I'm pretty sure that the hair of the hula girl is not new, and is a printed, black colored version of Elsa's hair from the Indiana Jones theme. If you have the Venice Chase set, could you please compare the two to confirm if they're the same?

Eeth Koth is exactly the same as Kolar, or they would be in Lego form. And aren't those last two the same as well? Well, I suppose one of those still has to be done. But enough of that, sorry for the off-topic chitchat.

Very wacky entry, nice work! I love the fun details, like the bendy clock and the comedic face on the front. I also really like the snow on the windows, very clever. Nice Zonko minifig, too.

I'm in the process of building my entry, and it did occur to me that I'll probably need to scale it down in order to fall under the 1000 piece limit. So my question is, can I post a non-contest entry MOC that is a larger version of my entry as well? The reason I ask is because even if the larger MOC is not an entry, it might influence a few votes. Should I wait until the contest is over?

I love all of those bands. To me, the 90s is where the best music happened. My personal favorite Counting Crows song is "Mr. Jones". oh, I see. Cool bit of info that I didn't know. And yes, you need to see it.

I know these are still prelim, but... Ki Adi Mundi! Finally! The Geonosian speeder is a must have for me. I also like how we're getting so many Jedi now. The Republic Frigate rounds it out with Quinlan Vos and Eeth Koth. I don't think there's any other Jedi from the films that still needs to be Lego-fied.

Thanks, Zepher. Haha, sorry Fangy, yes it did seem like you had the worst luck in this game. I'm ashamed to say that the Noodles were laughing all the way through it. Can't be converted. That was me. I didn't know that! Too bad I was already converted and had foiled your previous plan to convert Rick. Again, because we got to him first. Geez, better luck next time!

Wasn't there a ladder somewhere around here? Didn't someone use it to get down from the hotel's second floor?
-
Agreed with the others, I like this one a whole lot better. It fits both the Harry Potter and winter theme well. Thank you, Hinckley.
-
Uh, I agree, Mayor. There is definitely something worth investigating about that case.

No one is ever given a weak character. Just because you don't have a night action, doesn't mean you can't be an asset to your team. You can still take advantage of the PM system and converse with other players, and start a riot in the day threads. Trust me, the game can still be a blast without night actions.

Hoo-ah-ha! Great Cheif Washing Bear, ready to... fight! Yes. Fight. Hoo ha! -
Great game, all of you. One of the best experiences I've had on EB. Really well put together, Zepher, even if there were a few technical and schedule difficulties. I still can;t imagine the amount of preparation it took to host a 40 player game. About my game experience: As said, I was (thankfully) converted on Night 1 by Arjay, and became the Noodles hitman. I also had the ability to protect, though I didn't know it was harmful at the time. On the night of my death, I decided to protect iamded, who was a Noodle by that time. What I didn't know, and what I wasn't told in my role PM (on purpose I'm assuming) is that I wasn't actually a protector, but a Bodyguard. Which means, for those of you who don't already know, that if I protect someone and they're targeted, I die instead. So Quarry attacked iamded, but I died instead. Oh, well, I heard word from Walter that I was already a suspect due to my recklessness. Once we found out about the Night Watch, we recruited them immediately, starting with Walter. Lucky for us, he got investigator and watch powers, and was a powerful asset. After that, iamded. and then Fugazi on the night I died. ] Congrats to the winners, I would say that Quarry was smart to not use his night action until he knew his targets for winning. And ADHO, well played as well, except I would also say that you are extremely lucky. Starting somewhere around Night 5 I pushed the Noodles to kill you, but I guess you ended up being converted down the line. By the way, the thing that I noticed a few days ago was that in the banner in every day thread, the middle dark figure (the dark figures represent the three Godfathers) is wearing Ari Jay's mortician robe. Coincidence, or not? Finally, my thoughts on the game itself. For being put on the spot (hosting right away), I'd say you did an excellent job, Zepher, especially with forty roles and advanced game mechanics. A few things I would not like to see in the future though, are so many roles so that the game takes a while to finish, and not starting the Godfathers out alone with only an every-other-night recruit. It was extremely difficult for any family to win, and it's a good thing that the Noodles stayed hidden for so long. I did like how the town was given an advantage, the Night Watch. It did even things out a bit more in terms of town abilities (not numbers). ...and that's all I have for now, will read through other comments.

After seeing the movie, I know exactly how you feel. It has a sort of retro-futuristic vibe. Actually I had no idea that Daft Punk did the soundtrack, makes sense now though as there were two characters who looked exactly like the Daft Punk robot DJ things. Loved the music and the movie. I like some of their songs. I used to really enjoy the song Sound of Madness until it got stuck in my head constantly. I also like "Crow and the Butterfly". It's too bad that not many people like them so much. And me? The closing credits theme of Dexter (TV show). Such a great piece.

The first Knight Bus makes up my entire purple Lego collection, so if another one includes more, count me in! I wonder what the Battle of Hogwarts will look like. We already got a full-size Hogwarts castle (four times). Some people are saying a very large set, but I'm thinking smaller, like a large version of the little cut-away corridor scenes that the first HP line had.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
JimBee replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Actually, I did mean to post it there. That's what I get for having 50 tabs open at once. Sorry. Thanks for the response anyway, Kiel. -
What? But... I'm confused.

Nice one. I like the macro effect, with the foreground being razor sharp and background slowly blurring.

That frigate looks fantastic, much better than the 2007 version. Not that I'll be buying it (SW prices go up again...), but it looks very interesting nonetheless. I wonder if TLG will include any exclusive figures, unlike the RGS-c and AT-OT. There wasn't really much incentive to get that set because all it had were clone troopers which were common by that time. -
Showing my support because I look forward to these every day. Great work, Cloney, I get a smile every time. I burst out laughing at the "Tyranus saw us Rex" one. Keep 'em coming! Edit: Whoops, that one was Rufus. Sorry! Still, all of them are fantastic, keep up the great work Cloney.
