Cronk heals himself, and Xander downs his green potion. He feels a small tingling sensation, but there are no apparent effects on the barbarian. Several party members hand Flavius and Denerii their bombs as the Rito fly off to the north door. Sarick then leads the party towards the south door, where they try to charge through. The door is solid, however, and no amount amount of physical force can seem to break it. Several explosions are heard to the north, and a cloud of dust rises where part of the building must have caved in. Suddenly, the southern door bursts open and several guards pour out. They seem unharmed, but shaken from the explosion. "Intruders! Call for backup! The emperor is injured!" PREPARE FOR BATTLE! This is tentative so don't hold me to it, but the Dastan trilogy will probably conclude by the end of the month. Or sometime in early/mid August. Zepher, if Quest 39 has anything to do with going into someone's dreams (it sounds like it does), then great minds think alike. I was thinking about doing the same thing, but only after you mentioned hosting "surreal quests".

I like it too, and I agree with both of CallMePie's points. There's just one thing: It would be very easy to manipulate Arcane Manifold, if it can be used outside of battle. I'm not saying it's overpowered, but a Grand Tonic (restores 15 ether) costs 30 gold. So for a relatively small price, an Artificer could create limitless artifact duplicates. Not sure if I would nerf that, just pointing it out. If you were to nerf it, however, you could limit Arcan Manifold to allow only one artifact duplication at a time. -

I would also like to point out that Sandy has hinted that the artifacts available for purchase next month will be extremely expensive, I think she said Guts would be one of the few who could afford one. So for people choosing the most well-rounded and powerful artifacts, it will cost them an arm and a leg to do so.

I like the cap how it is. Granting more artifact space for players 30+ would grant them even more power, in addition to the already powerful expert classes. When will it reach a point where characters are invincible? Allowing more artifact space, in addition to shields, special weapons, and AC and EC bonuses, will make the game very easy. And then it will become less fun, IMO.

We don't have much time as the city is in imminent danger. An invasion is on it's way, in fact it might have already started. We must move quickly." "Very well. While Denerii and I gather our people, you shall head down the mountain and back to your city. We will be ready for you when you arrive." The heroes and Nikolai hurried down the mountain and back to the capitol. When they arrived, chaos had been unleashed. At the southern walls loyal troops could be seen fighting off Rogue Lion Knights, and at the western and northern walls hordes of citizens were evacuating. The party managed to sneak in the eastern gates unnoticed. Above them, they could see silhouettes of winged humanoids soaring towards the palace. They arrived at Emeraldo's wing of the palace. In front of the door stood two guards, on the ground there were dark red stains. "Oh no, not again... we just took care of two troublemakers dressed a lot like you, what is your purpose here?" Suddenly Flavius and Denerii swooped down and landed next to the party. Other Rito could be seen doing the same in the distance. "We've distributed our people around the city, to help us secure it. It appears the southern walls are under attack, so we must make haste in eliminating these guards." Nikolai nodded. "Wh-what? Rito! Wh-what are they doing here?! Call for backup!" the guard stammered in fear. How will the party react?

I haven't had time to read your quest yet, unfortunately, so I don't know what weapon you're talking about, but as an Assassin I could no longer use the consumable strategy that Rogues and Raiders can. So I'd be more worried about Guts or Dak getting it.

Hybros nodded to Benji, but before he could acknowledge the quest, the half-elf had been signed onto another one, with Alexis taking his place. A familiar face, but she would be going without Althior this time. These relationships that surface-dwellers had, he could never understand them. But they seemed close, Hybros hoped that their separation wouldn't interfere with the quest.

"Guts?" The tough-as-nails rogue looked a lot different from when he had last seen him. His head wrap was gone, and the three distinguishing scars that streaked across the only part of his face that used to be seen were faded. He also had a new aura about him, something less self-centered and... warmer. Not to be easily tricked by this new appearance, however, Hybros proceeded with caution. "Yes, I remember you now, eheh. It has been quite a while since our mission in the quarry. Well, I am ready for another one, as long as this man here agrees..." Hybros signs up for Quest #39.

Hybros returns to the Hall after a long and somewhat unsuccessful journey. It turned out that the Ji Pei were busy defending themselves from the Wolfgang, although Hybros had managed to track down Reno Bonaparte and follow him to Triad Park where he had met with Legonardo of the Ji Pei. Things were moving quickly, and hopefully the house of power would post for Heroica's help in the near future. In the meantime however, Hybros needed to entertain himself to escape the dull clutches of the Hall. Many heroes were still away in Dastan, and Eric was on his own quest with the barbarian woman Tesni that he had met a while ago. The only familiar faces around were Alexis and her... partner, Althior. I think players who made it all the way to Level 50 would be responsible enough and understand how the game works well enough to be allowed two characters. It might be confusing sometimes, but I can see that people would want to start a new character without giving up the one that they worked so hard on.
