  1. Hybros took a seat near Eric at the bar, waving hello. "Eric, it has been some time, heheh." He fluttered his wings, still getting used to having them. "You look different. I did not know you had a fire-colored beard or a hat even bigger than Atramor's."
  2. The Bomber Belt from 129 was cool - not sure where that got off to but I would definitely use it as a Cannoneer. I know Matthias plans to play as it when he's able but so far no one has used the class - and that's a shame because it looks really cool! I would love to hear them! I also don't want to step on any toes with your story arcs.
  3. I know this will probably jinx it, but I will have some extra time this summer to host a quest. I haven't yet had time to plan much of it out, but it will focus on the imps. Any ideas are welcome, as I haven't hosted in a long time and am not sure where to start. I'd be happy to take anyone lingering in the Hall at the time. On another note I haven't been able to follow all of the current/recent quests but for the ones I have followed, 150 looks awesome and has been a great read so far. I wouldn't have minded the Touch of Malice for Chi Monk Hybros. And 147 has been a blast! I'm guessing there are still a few people finishing up the sidequests?
  4. "Milk, hm? I do not know what you are talking about. Gold on the other hand, I can relate to, heheh. Erm, perhaps some tea? You seem to be falling asleep." Hybros slid over the gold and motioned for Pretzel to sit down. "Thank you Monk. I am glad our differences have not come between a good deal, heheh."
  5. Hybros looks on as Goliath appears to malfunction. "Erm, that sounds like a dwarf to me. So, ehem... what brought you to Heroica?"
  6. "Your creators I would assume..." Hybros thought of Jeaux, who also had no idea what he was talking about. "Unless you came from somewhere else..." "Ehehm, Monk. If you are giving discounts at the marketplace, I would like 2 Nostrums and 3 Meads, if you do not mind."
  7. Hybros tensed up at the machine's booming voice. "Erm, Hybros." He kept his hand to himself for fear of it being crushed. "I was not aware that the Tritech inserted one of their own into Heroica. What is it that they hope to achieve?" Hybros slid over the Black Hat and scooped up the gold. The hat had fit him well over the years, but it was no longer needed.
  8. Hybros jumps in his seat. The mostrosity of metal parts was even bigger than Skrall. "Oh! Er... distraught? I think you might have me mistaken, auto... auto... ehem, whatever it is that the Tritech call you."
  9. "Out of the way, birdboy. We're busy here."
  10. Hybros wanders back to the Hall. It was even emptier than before. Strange how people come and go so quickly. He sat down and removed the Black Hat, disappointed that Fabian had been unresponsive to his offers. He began twiddling his thumbs, wondering how long Heroica would wait on the sightings in Goetia.
  11. I missed that the first time around. I disagree. Why do the actions have to be totally different to be new? In Matthias' case, I would imagine he would be spellcasting instead of meleeing as a Prophet, anyway. They also have the choice to heal or meditate. There are other options, like using items, too. And new build options. To me the rolls don't make the master classes any less attractive. The only heroes who've actually reached level 50 are those who've consistently worn MoGs, and that's like 4. Mime is very appealing and you already know my plans to play as it.
  12. Jinnipher rolled her eyes. "This is ridiculous. We have the best solution in front of us, where no harm will come to the proggs. I'm not risking my life for a couple of buildings."
  13. "We're running out of time. If we don't do anything now we won't have a choice at all. Homelessness is still better than death." Jinnipher crossed her arms.
  14. I agree! I think I would have simplified it along similar lines. I really like the changes to the abilities of the demons, they're both fitting and balanced. Scroll casting also makes sense. I do have a few suggestions. First, I don't think there is enough health sacrifice. It is a very powerful class but there should be more of a risk/reward aspect. There are more ways to gain health than to lose it. Scroll casting is optional and really the only other way is Destruction, which should also cost more IMO. What if having the demon attack (regardless of roll) cost health? It'd be more predictable for the player but also riskier. The health sacrificed should be something like 10, or proportional to the demon's level. Another way to solve this would be to go back to the Sacrificial Mortal Hits. The amount of health offered before an attack would be up to the player, so the amount of risk/reward would be arbitrary. I really like this mechanic but I can imagine some situations where it might get complicated. Also, Unbound seems pretty weak. Basically the demons have no risk of triggering an enemy special, which can break a battle. To add to the risk/reward aspect, they should trigger the special to affect the Demonologist before destroying themselves. Other than that, I think it's a pretty workable class! It's pretty unique and combines some aspects of advanced/expert classes that the other master classes do not. Summoning/crowd control like Evokers/Drafters/Dragoons/Necromancers, buffing allies rather than debuffing enemies (so that it doesn't take the spot of Weather Mage, and actually fits the role that Flipz and WBD picture Cavalier as), and a really nice risk/reward mechanic that sets it aside from Paragon, Prophet and Mime.
  15. Jinnipher nodded. For once, these two were right. "I'm no optimist myself. The residential area is just rock, and it can be rebuilt. The human-- er, progg -- cost if we delay any longer will be much higher. Plus we leave ourselves vulnerable if Immortalis sends anything our way while we're swimming down there. It wouldn't take much to knock one of us off the aqua proggs and drown, or get separated or trapped. And I am not going to die from drowning. We flood the residential district."
  16. I'm starting to agree about Prophet being nerfed just a tad. Recovering 25 ether is a lot. I think the SHIELD roll should be either the [Magic Burst/AoE attack + Roots of Life] OR gain 25 ether, with the former being spells->nurture in order until ether runs out. On that note, I've been thinking for awhile that the standard Meditate roll is pretty underpowered. 1 ether doesn't do much especially at the higher levels. Especially, Paladin isn't that great because of Meditate. Sure, it has one of the best SHIELD rolls in the game, but it's gotta be frustrating having only 2 hit rolls. And Paladins don't heal very often. I dunno, I feel like Meditate should restore a little more ether. Or, Paladin should have a different roll. Also, I don't think I brought this up after 139, but Marauder is awesome. Very powerful and good at both damage-dealing and crowd control, but also balanced due to Dual Damage/Special Damage. Definitely my favorite class I've played as so far, with Alchemist coming in second.
  17. "Great, you're afraid of water? I don't suppose you're prepared to fight off an ancient dragon, then."
  18. "What tyrant demands power then willingly gives it up? In his eyes we would only go right back to screwing everything up. No, his goal is either total power or total destruction. Or both."
  19. Fair enough, though I think Alchemist, Skirmisher, Minstrel and even Chi Monk round out the support classes nicely in the expert class level. I do like the speech rolls. Looking through some of the old ideas in this topic, I still like the Demonologist master class I adapted from Pie's idea. It's pretty complicated, but I'm a big fan of the way it uses health to attack instead of ether. Not sure if spellcasting fits in. It could definitely be simplified, anyone think the class would be worth exploring more?
  20. Jinnipher nodded. "You can't threaten doomsday and then ask for cooperation. So this is what it was about all along, power." She crossed her arms and shook her head. "Even more proof that the lizard is just as simple and pathetic as he pretends to be." She turned to the progg. "Everyone in this city needs to unite against this threat. We can take him down as long as everyone is on the same page. As soon as someone submits to him... we divide ourselves."
  21. So... Skirmisher? They seem pretty similar to me. Interesting idea, it's a little bit like the Chi Monk's SHIELD roll. It might be a little OP for a 4 roll but it seems to suit the theme of the class, which is support/offensive (like Berserker's SHIELD).
  22. Jinnipher rolled her eyes and groaned. "Oh no..." She tried desperately to wash the dye out by splashing the floodwater onto her head, but it was no use. She arose, even grumpier-looking than before. She quickly took off her Moone Mail and Cloak of Necrotic Shielding and put on her Helmet of the Tactician to cover up the new hair-do. "Don't pretend that you didn't want the dye in the first place," she mumbled.
  23. Thanks everyone for the input. That is what I was going for, thanks Pie. Yeah, I dunno about it being compressed but the saved image looks fine on my computer. Oh well.
  24. Not sure why the picture quality is so bad... it doesn't look like this on my computer but for some reason it's bad when I upload it to Flickr. Any tips?
  25. Jinnipher waded through the water, holding her bag above her head to keep it dry. After a while, she felt a liquid soaking through. She checked to see if water had already gotten in, but she quickly determined what the source was. She pulled out the empty bottle that had once carried the black and blue hair dye. She dropped it into the water with a horrified look on her face. "Gabriel... Does my hair look okay?"
