The airship soon landed in Eubric, and Hybros quickly stepped off. He departed the Ji Pei Palace, with a short nod to Legonardo and Shanxian. Perhaps he would return to finish the job one day... but not now. He stepped out into the streets of Eubric once again. It felt good to be back in the city. It had more or less become Hybros's home since his arrival, despite his preference for more rugged, outdoor accommodations. He breathed in the sea salted air as he strolled aimlessly through the alleys and plazas, not paying much attention to his surroundings. His mind was elsewhere, sometimes drifting back to the Pagoda where he had to stop himself. He tried to think of different solutions to his main goal other than the Ji Pei's help. None came. He sighed and took a moment to gather himself, only to notice that he had inadvertently ended up before the large oaken doors of Heroica Hall. Much time had passed, and he had spent the whole day walking around the city. He slowly pushed the doors open to find the Hall about as empty as he had left it. Many of the heroes he had come to know during his time in Heroica must have been on other quests. He noticed a few new faces and one or two familiar ones, but made his way towards his usual corner near the fire and started unpacking his bag. It seemed that none of the other heroes from his most recent quest had returned, so he began to make a list, taking inventory of the new items he had found in the Pagoda. Although they were all useful, many of them would go to his allies. It was only fair, he supposed, though he didn't have to like it. He also made a note of special expenses or gains for each party member. Cinna: Gained 630 gold, sold 2 Big Pearls +150 gold, bought 2 Grand Tonics and 1 Phoenix Essence –146 gold Hybros: Gained 240 gold consumed 2x Chicken Drumstick, bought 3 Phoenix Essences and 2 Remedies –222 gold Namyrra: Bought 1 Grand Tonic -40 gold OOC: Party members, just copy the list and color the items you want most with a different color. I'll try to divide everything as evenly as possible, including the items that didn't get chosen. I didn't count some of the consumables like Phoenix Essences and Remedies since we used so many, but if there's a problem feel free to let me know! Also, the most up-to-date list of hero inventories and stats:

Heroica RPG - Quest #50: 108 Stars of Destiny
JimBee replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
Hybros bowed his head solemnly. He had failed. How would the Ji Pei family look at him now? How would he ever get their help in finding his people? Without a word, he turned to leave and board the airship back to Eubric. For most of the trip he stood gazing out over the passing scenery below, not enjoying the thrill of flying like he did on the way to the Pagoda. It felt like months ago that they had first arrived, and the little imp was still exhausted from the long and hard-fought battle. Once they neared Eubric, he finally said, to his allies, "Meet me in the Hall later. There we shall divide our loot evenly." Loot? Is that all he could think about? -

Heroica RPG - Quest #50: 108 Stars of Destiny

Hybros blinked a few times as he listened to the Ji Pei, staring up at the sky while on his back. Out of there, at last. Had they won? No, he remembered. The icy room with the giant yeti-like beast... and Jun! Hybros sat up and rubbed his head. "Uhh.... Jun... Jun was with us the whole time. To the very end he fought with us. You did not recover his b-.... him?" -

Hybros swings his scythe furiously, but to no avail. He is quickly overcome by the enemies, and blacks out. OOC: Sorry Sandy, but we just can't go on anymore. If you'd like to just autoroll or end it you may. We have all agreed to this plan. -
Yes, which is why I've tried to compensate for a less offensive-oriented party in this battle. No problem, I just wasn't sure if Jedi Master Brick had something similar in Quest 48.
-
Thank you! I just used the apple green canopy piece (from an Atlantis set I think), attached two isosceles trapezoid pieces on a hinge, and shoved in some spare sprues (from the three leaf plant). It's not attached to the dragon's body, but it sits nicely without falling off. ...By JMB you do mean me, right? Yep. I said this would be a shorter quest, and actually it's taken a bit longer than I thought it would (going on 2 months now).
-
Point being you can't make use fo the Sticky Gloves, so why would you want them? Unless of course you went back to Assassin. Who knows? (Yes it is. You did opt out of one battle for a total of four on this quest, two being optional).

I'd also like to echo the others by saying a job well done with Nagure, Costy. Now that's how you minmax a Berserker, although Peppermint did a great job so far with Tesni as well (poor Tarn has no gold or luck... Go Raider when we get back! ). Massive defense and an arsenal of powerful elemental weapons for huge damage in any situation. Despite being "immune to strategy", I think these kind of investments are what are required for Berserkers to really show their strengths in battle. I also like Nagure's updated appearance. Very nice brick-built shield; and great use of the Rebel Alliance symbol upside down to make a helmet/skull symbol. On another note, is it just me or is anyone else unable to see Waterbrick Down's quest pictures? I'm getting the "this picture is not available" message.

De'kra tries again to seal Retraga, this time succeeding with a powerful spell keeping the beast's large maw shut. Pretzel cannot repeat the same success on the Wings, however. Mizkuki flings her shuriken and William pelts the throbbing parasite with arrows, at which the Dragon reels in pain. JimBee replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
"...Alright." Hybros sheathed his blades for the moment, a little miffed that he hadn't been able to assassinate anything. Hybros revives Tesni and heads back to the Tea Room. Jun follows. "Then we should get ready for the next round. Jun, retreat farther and heal yourself. The rest of us will continue our attacks. Cinna, remember to use darkness when you perform a Spellspin." Hybros attacks the Two Spears with the Eye-poking Sai, and then Touching the Sky and theFiery Lion with the Twin Kunai if he succeeds. If he fails his first attack, he will try again. From the back row. Jun retreats back another room. Battle Order: Jun Xut Hybros Hybros Tesni Tarn Cinna Namyrra -
Yes, thats what I meant. If you Flee, as in the Rogue's job trait, you shouldn't be able to come back.
-
How so? You're usually not allowed to go back to a battle once you flee, so the item wouldn't work in a better capacity that way.

Heroica RPG - Quest #50: 108 Stars of Destiny
JimBee replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
Hybros attacks Touching the Sky twice, directing both his secondary attacks at the Lion, from the back row. Jun repeats his attack. "Namyrra, have Xut target the Ten Feet of Blue while the rest of us avoid her." Same BO. -
*Looks around* What cloak? I didn't know about the perma-badly poisoned weapons, but petrified is still an incredibly powerful effect. I only agree with you slightly about the Knight and SP - they still have the most SP because shields are upgrade-able and artifacts are not. Most non-Knight classed heroes who have SP have little of it, and I still think high-SP artifacts are OP. Besides that, the Magic Robe is also more powerful than the Assassin's OHKO ability, even if it was combined with a Red Cloak. There's no 1/6 chance on successful hits (so an Assassin's overall chance to assassinate something is less than 1/6, discounting Shield rolls), there's a guaranteed Petrified-effect tacked on to any Critical Hit roll for that item. It's not even just compared to the versatility of Assassins that makes this item OP, I think it's plenty powerful on its own too. I don't mean to drag this on and continue to complain about it, I just think it's unbalanced. On an unrelated note, can Thormanil's title be changed to "Dragon Body Part Thief"? It looks like he's making a habit of lopping their tails off and using them as weapons.
-
I know, but that doesn't mean the item isn't OP.
-
I agree with this. It's basically taking the main strength of playing Assassin and putting it into an artifact. Maybe the same has happened before (such as the Pheles Rod replicating Aura), but it certainly feels like Assassin has been devalued because of the robe.

Looks like this could be really cool if we got a lot of members to put their pin on the map. Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA.
