Welcome, enjoy yourself! Dr. Brick

Thanks for the compliments everybody! No they are a bit different. The zebra crossing one of 2000 doesn't show a minifig crossing, just a silhouette of a normal guy. Dr. Brick

Hello Everybody. This is my first review. I have just started following lessons at the academy but I thought this set couldn't wait. I found it in Intertoys, they had most of the new construction sets, some new technic sets and all the power miners. Well, here we go: 8401 - Minifigure Collection Year of release: 2009 officially, but you should be able to find it in a few shops allready. Theme: City Price: €7,99 Minifigs: 4 Pieces: 60 Let's start with the box: It's a regular City box that clearly shows all the contents of the set. The back shows us the contents in more detail. But there no 'easy building' written to reassure worried parents. Inside I found two poly bags, a DSS and an instruction booklet: Random instruction shot: Off course the intructions are very clear. Ok, now the most important part of the set: the minifigs. This set includes 4 minifigs: an angry police man, a annoyed delivery boy, a satisfied buisness man and a happy woman. As you can see all of the figs except the delivery boy have accesories. But there are also bigger atributes: A cart with a indy-box: A brick-built stereo: A nice bench: (I've always wanted one of these ) Then there are the traffic signs. These are a bit dissapointing because they are stickers... But they are cool designs, especially the zebra sign: There is also a traffic light. It is completely brick built and it includes a tooth as a 'roof-piece': There is also a fire atribute: (what do you call these things? ) Well that was everything. Here's a pic of the complete set: Rating: Design: 5/5. There isn't a lot to rate but everything is brick-built which I appreciate. Build: 5/5. Same here, not a lot to build but at least we have to build everything. Minifigs: 3/5. Seeing that this set is all about the minifigs I feel they could have done a better job. A woman is nice but it would have been nice to get another one in stead of the policeman. Overall-look: 5/5. Not much to say about this. Price: 4/5. Maybe a little bit to expensive... I love this set. Why? Because it has been ages since TLG released a set that made it possible to put a few figures in your city. It would have been nice if there was another woman in stead of the police guy, but hey, we can't have everything can we. Dr. Brick

No i'm afraid it isn't. It's a alternitive model of the Café Corner. Thanks anyway! Dr. Brick

I just bought the minifig set. I'll try and do a review tomorrow. Dr. Brick

Dr. Brick replied to Bonaparte's topic in Forum Information and Help
If three weeks will be enought to finish the course, I'de like to join now! Dr. Brick -
Thanks for the review. At one point in my life I said to myself 'no more construction sets!'. But then LEGO released the big crane and now this... can't wait for it! Seeing that I also live in belgium, where did you get? (for only €40?! ) Dr. Brick
-
Yes I saw that, it is interesting isn't it. He's also made one of the crane, set 7632. You can find it here. I'm looking forward to that set... Dr. Brick

Ooh seems like I've won a mini jedi-starfighter. I'm not a big Star Wars-fan though so if anybody want's to swap their prize with me, PM me. Well thank's to everybody who made this cool raffle and good luck to everyone who hasn't won anything yet. Dr. Brick

Welcome to Eurobricks Pierre. I hope you'll have a nice time here. You can go and introduce yourself in the 'Hello, my name is...' forum, then not only the city fans will get know you. Ooh you allready have the construction site? Maybe you could start of your stay here with a nice review...? Last weekend it was BeLUG clubweekend in Mechelen, and I saw this: (sorry for huge pic) It a really cool set, but you don't get a lot for €69,99... Dr. Brick
-
Count me in please, I don't care what it is, free is free. Dr. Brick

Thanks so much for this review. I totally can't wait for this set... Is it available in every Toys-R-Us everywhere? Thanks. Dr. Brick

LEGO in Film & TV: Index of Appearances
Dr. Brick replied to Izzy's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Well it's not really a movie or a tv episode but The White Stripes use quite a lot of Lego in one of their clips. Hope nobody mentioned it before... Dr. Brick -
Search for '4999' on brickshelf, it's the second hit. It's cool isn't it. Does anybody know who made it? Dr. Brick
-
There's a link to the intructions a few pages ago... I also looked at the inventory at the back and the hat is indeed tan: Link 1 Another interesting detail is that in the overall construction pic TLC used a lot of tan BURP's: Link 2 Is this a new colour for BURP's? If so maybe it will be released later on this year... Dr. Brick

If you want maffia you could allways buy this set: (that's what I'm going to do ) The white fedora would go well with indy's new suit... I really can't wait for these farm sets, they will only be released in march. Maybe we'll get them earlier on S@H? Dr. Brick
-
Thanks for the great review Lasse D. I am one of the many who love to have this set, so I am building it myself. I allready have sortoff half of all the parts I need. If you are building it yourself get the Power Functions Set, you will get all the PF components (only the long wires) plus a few off the cogs. (including the white one with clutch) Dr. Brick
-
Enough speculation, I'm of to LEGO World and I'm going to buy all the resting pieces I need to build this set. If they do release it in the end, I'll have two. Dr. Brick
-
Sounds good but... How do you know this? Has it been confirmed? Do you have any other information (release date, price, is it still vestas, size...)? Thank you. Dr. Brick
-
Welcome King of Everything! That's a nice story. It nearly made me cry. If my parents would ever try and lock my lego up, they wouldn't get away with it! I hope you have a nice time here. Dr. Brick

Happy Birthday Ruben!
