  1. Updated Delta (CloneCommanderDelta7's idea)
  2. He's right, KimT. That is definitely a stormtrooper with shock trooper markings. However, I don't think this has any relevance to new sets, and was probably a simple mistake by the animator. Well noticed, FORCES.
  3. A very difficult decision indeed. In the end, I went for the Armoured Assault Tank. I've always wanted one, and even though it's in CIS colours, the set was a definite buy before I even saw pictures. Although the Battle of Endor is a great set, I'm a PT fan first, so I thought it should be from the Clone Wars. This did come a very close second, though.
  4. I agree, great idea, KimT. I missed the older ones too. Thanks a lot.
  5. Thank you very much, Jammiedodger. Too bad about yours. Now that you mention it, mine does look a tiny bit higher than it should do. No problem, WhiteFang. I wasn't too bothered about it being a stormie as I only have 4 (3 new & 1 old). I wouldn't have minded at all if it had been a scout trooper, though. Sorry, Skipper. Thank you. I agree. It was my least favourite when I first saw it, but now it's here, it's not too bad. Thank you, KimT. I've never been on the frontpage before. Exciting! I probably would have preferred another 74-Z, but I do already have three, so I'm not too bothered. Thanks, Jonas. I'm sure they'll be available elsewhere eventually. It's not like the UK to have exclusive sets (at least not as far as I know). Ta, kill will. There are already a few on Bricklink if you were wanting one now. It was over 14 when I looked. My pleasure, Legolas. Thanks a lot, Rufus. I tried the handlebar thing, but because of the 'trigger' part of the gun shape, you can't tilt them far enough forward. The paper said to allow 28 days after the closing date, so they could be a while.
  6. Hi. This is my eighth Star Wars review and it features: the 30005 Imperial Speeder Bike! Theme: Star Wars (ROTJ) No of pieces: 29 (excluding fig) Release Date: 2009 Minifigs: 1 RRP when released: Free (promotional set) Bricklink Brickset This set is based on a custom vehicle from the minds of TLG. It has never been seen in any of the films or EU, to my knowledge. It appears to be a small, one-man speeder bike that is apparently Endor-themed, looking at the background of the picture on the bag and instructions. Instructions This is the front cover of the miniscule instruction booklet. It shows the vehicle whizzing along through the dense forests of Endor's moon. The instuctions are printed on both sides of the paper, as well as a small advert for LEGO.com and two of this years Original Trilogy sets: 7749 Echo Base and 8038 The Battle of Endor. Build These are the 29 pieces that make up the vehicle, as well as the stormtrooper on the left. They are mostly ordinary pieces, but there are some that I didn't have already such as the two axes. At stage three in the build, the model will look like this. The base of the speeder has been assembled, but it doesn't look like much yet. By stage six of ten, handlebars have been added as well as a small engine on the back. The finished product looks like this. The axes are clipped onto the sides and the front has been nicely built up. Vehicle From the front, you can see that the pilot has a clear view ahead. If the binocular pieces are supposed to be guns, they aim at the ground, so would be quite ineffective unless the target was lying down. I expect they're just for detail. Looking at the back, we can see the small exhaust mounted on the back. The axes, so the instructions say, should be pointed towards the ground. Maybe this vehicle is supposed to be some kind of Imperial Lawnmower? The side view shows off the vehicles perfect shape. The front tilts down, much like a Swoop bike, and the axes are held on the sides. The stormie riding the bike cannot hold the handlebars, unfortunately. They're just there to rest his arms on. And off he goes into the jungle. Maybe a tree has fallen on the road and is blocking traffic. This Woodcutter trooper is off to clear the way with his two little axes. Minifigure Being such a tiny set, it only includes on basic minifigure: a good old stormtrooper. I don't have many of these, being a PT fan, so another one was nice to add to my small collection. As he's a speeder pilot, he's not equipped with any kind of weapon, apart from his axes of course. Perhaps he's descended from the Dwarves theme? Ratings and thoughts Build: 5/10 - Simple and quick, as you'd expect from a small set like this. It wasn't boring or repetitive so it gets a good score. Minifigures: 4/10 - As nice as this stormie is, a scout trooper might have been more appropriate and more appreciated by some people. Playability: 4/10 - There isn't much to do with this set but swoosh it. Design: 7/10 - It does a little odd, but it fits in with the design of the other 74-Z speeder bikes the Endor sets have included, and the handlebars are quite nice too. Price: 10/10 - All this little beauty cost was 65p for the newspaper! Overall: 30/50 - A wonderful little promo that I'm sure will be very popular among Star Wars LEGO fans. And to finish: a shot of him terrorizing a poor Ewok! Thanks for looking, everybody. Comments welcome, as always.
  7. It's Talz, actually. You mean the ARC-170? That wasn't in the Lair of Grievous episode. Or do you mean Plo Koon's fighter? In that case, I doubt we'll see Kit Fisto and Nahdar Vebb. (Woohoo! 900 posts!)
  8. I asked the woman who gave me it today and she said their branch was closed tomorrow, but others might be open. She told me I could pick up tomorrow's on Monday, but I'm not so sure. I may just go to Toys'R'Us to be certain.
  9. To quote myself:
  10. I have today's Daily Mirror. It says that each set must be picked up on the day it is released. For example, I can get today's Imperial Speeder Bike today at Toys'R'Us or WHSmith, but tomorrow I can only get the Clone Walker. However, you can send five DIFFERENT vouchers with a cheque for
  11. No problem. I'll get what I can and then, as you said, sort out the ones I have.
  12. You have to go each day? I can't just go when it ends and collect them all together? In that case, I probably won't be able to get them all for you three. You'll have to decide between you who I should get them for. I want one of each of the promos, and if it's only one per customer, the max I'll be able to get each day will be two or three. Sorry. Thanks. The plan's falling apart a bit now though.
  13. I know. That was just a general comment in the same post. I wasn't showing any favouritism to the EB staff. I saw KimT ask, and then WhiteFang and ImperialShadows followed. I'll be buying about 8 newspapers tomorrow, so I think that's enough. Plus, it can't hurt to get in the staff's good books.
  14. I didn't mean to sign anyone else up for doing it. I don't know. From the look of it, it's just a special box to keep them in. I doubt it'll have anything in it.
  15. I did wonder about that. There are a few towns nearby with WHSmiths and a nearby Toys'R'Us as well. If I go with my mum, she can get one in each place, and I can too. I may get a few that way. I don't think I'll be able to handle anymore, though. There are plenty of other English people around to ask. Or you could wait and see if your country has them.
  16. You want one of each as well? Well, I'm already getting them for KimT and WhiteFang, I might as well help you as well.
  17. Don't worry, KimT. I've sent you a PM.
  18. Thank you very much again, Penguin. Hopefully, there'll be another batch along soon. I think I've said earlier in this thread that I made the original and then I just recolour to make all the different designs. I'm glad you like them. Thanks, Big Cam. Thanks a lot, CCA. I hoped you might. Feel free to use it in your profile or avatar, if you wish. I know CommanderFox has his in his profile. As always, I appreciate all your comments, be them good or bad, and am open to both real and custom requests. Thanks!
  19. No problem. You're new and your local, so I'll forgive you. Thanks for thinking of us, but be aware of repeated info in future.
  20. We've had this news posted in 2 different places already, including the same this same thread. Please look around before posting.
  21. What do you mean? It's not a contest, it's a giveaway. The newspaper is giving away the promo sets. This availability information should be posted in the 'Star Wars sets anyone?' thread, plus it has already been posted in the 2010 forum. Please have a look around before creating a new topic.
  22. This looks brilliant, cole! You've really achieved a great, realistic technique there. Watch out, Darth Gunray! ] Well done!
  23. This does belong in the 'Star Wars sets anyone?' thread, as it's info related to availability, but I don't care! Thank you so much for this information! I don't normally get the Mirror, but it looks like I'll be getting it this weekend. Thanks stan!

    SWAAT

Good luck with what? The invasion contest has been over for months. Please don't just bump up really old topics for no reason.
  25. Some great MODs and MOCs there, Delta! I love the new weapons, as well as the vehicle customizations. Want me to have a go at the new Delta? Well done!
