I want that Juice Bar!!!!!!!!!!!! Forget the fact that it's a friends set, the parts on it are perfect and it feels just the same like a city set. Not to mention it fits in a south Florida atmosphere. (In case anyone doesn't know me I'm a dude)

PAB Cups: What Did You Get?
brickbuilder711 replied to ACCURATEin's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Orlando's the place to go, nice pieces... Too bad I won't be up there for Festival this year... well... because there's no GFLUG display thanks to the company's ego... but that's off base. Magenta 1x2 plate... hmmm..... Maybe you mean Md. Lavender? see my post from above reply#1006. I'm waiting till the day I can get Bley 1x2, masonry or plain, and the 2x2 tile. The brown piece is interesting too and I'm still waiting on the TrLtBlue tile. -

Miami, FL. They also had lime 1x2 tile (meh), DkPink 1x4 (no use), and the cones in Trpurple. -
The second episode, more on point with what the series is all about, is up. This one is more impressive than the first.

He's just an everyday person.... but with a love an obsession for LEGO. While not 100% brick flick (sorry if this is in the wrong forum), this comedy series of shorts will feature this strange mysterious character playing around with his Laygoes, making various life sized builds. His name is Rick The Brick. I'll be sending you guys episodes from the series as the series develops. Here's episode 1: No Coaster No Problem.

Thanks! Problem is the windscreen here is a 4x2x2, not a 6x2x2. If only LEGO made a three stud version :) Thanks. Aside from the models I did then ordered via factory, yes it is one of the first build tested designs! I like it, it is much more organized and it lets you know what pieces/how many you'll need to achieve the design. Unfortunately of course there are limitations in general like moving or odd parts that you would be better trying out in real life. One big one, in my Tri-Rail set that I'll be building, the wheels aren't separate from the bogey so things like that need to be built real first. And yes as you said I am more than happy to send you guys the instructions! Forgot to mention it at the beginning of the thread. Just PM me an email contact, I'll email the HTML version which can be browsed via your internet browser and a zip which contains the many images and icons you'll need. Both will need to be saved to the same folder I think since one depends on the other, of course the zip will need to be unzipped to that same folder.

Just thought I'd show you guys one of my newest little MOCs: a Transit shuttle. This shuttle has multiple uses in various cities/towns across the world. Most popular include transit and airport services. It also is one of my first MOCs to be completely pre-designed using LDD. Here's a YT video showing some features.

PAB Cups: What Did You Get?
brickbuilder711 replied to ACCURATEin's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Agreed, yes! I live in Miami. The walls here (2 stores a decent drive away) do have below average selections just the same though but there are little nooks and crannies to picking that can spice things up. As was discussed prior in this thread the play tables are reasonably acceptable areas to rack up rare brick and also simple asking/connections can hook you up with good brick. However, being able to get from the play tables varies by store, some don't allow but where I was the staff didn't care. I've heard successful cases of people getting from Orlando even though I probably wouldn't do it there due to the traffic of children frolicking around there. The Bright Green foliage and lime/purple tile, the parts I did end up with en masse, were on the wall stock however. -

I followed some advice on this forum for certain types of picking and my results were (really) good. I wound up with 1 large and 1 small cup of utter goodness from different sources. Lots of essentials included. Even the small cup looked like the come-up from a parts draft! lol -

Sorry to mention something possibly OT, but it might be the Opera House. Though it is about time to reveal the BTTF mobile anyway. -

GFLUG at Plant City Train Show near Tampa, FL, USA

Thanks and agreed. Actually they've had shows for 23+ years but back then the spring show was held in the old high school and wasn't as big as it is now. -
GFLUG at Plant City Train Show near Tampa, FL, USA
brickbuilder711 replied to brickbuilder711's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Sure. Dueling yards means there would be a pair of yards at each end of the layout, sending out trains on the blocks of main track. A track would loop around and then converge into a double main with trains on one track running against trains in the other track. As you supposed, there are three to four blocks of track that are regulated between yards, split by RC tracks. Then you would wind up at the opposing yard and things cycle again. At times the club may try to run as many trains as possible, winding up with four or even five operating trains. In order to get a train to run through you need either two 9v motors or the train to have its own power... which is why I had to 'push' that one-engine train at one point, even though that train was running for media purposes. The multiple controllers in that clip is one for the outbound main, one for the inbound main, and one for the whole yard. The plastic track is between the two mainline tracks and the yard controlled track. If you come out to NMRA in Atlanta this summer you will most likely see the concept in action. -
GFLUG at Plant City Train Show near Tampa, FL, USA

On February 9, the Greater Florida LEGO Users Group put on a magnificent display with city and town dioramas and trains running around their newer Dueling Yards concept. A couple of my MOCs were a part of the show, one being a train depot built after the one in the Plant City, FL, where the show was at. Here is a little feed from it: -
Saw the instructions online and I'm very glad to see piece callouts have made it to city. Definitely contemplating the 60017, 60007, and maybe the 60018, but the rest I'm not crazy about.

Happy Holidays! So in designing a train/town layout to go by a Christmas Tree for the season, I took on one of the challenges of previous layouts and decided to find a nicer, neater way to carry, or "Bridge" electrical wires over the tracks. I did a preliminary version of this model last year, but it was incomplete and had a flawed design. This video shows the final version of the model, and the process of adding wiring through the bridge. Enjoy! (Pardon the mess lol) Remark: Posted in town because this bridge could be assumed to go over a road as well.

Saw the pictures and I think they're good but not overwhelmingly great. The ladder mech looks <insert that tiresome argument> which is annoying. Rescue set, I agree looks like it could've been better and the museum is OK but not too exciting. However the police sets are nice in the inclusion of DARK blue parts!!! Especially the windscreen in 60007. Now I can do beautiful CSX train engines with safety cabs.

Discontinuation of “Grab Bags” in LEGO Brand Retail
brickbuilder711 replied to Bricksan's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I am assuming that used LEGO will no longer be allowed to be a means of profit for the company. I fully understand that; I like my product to be new (even though believe it or not, those in grab bags look quite new themselves). This is not to say I am happy with the move. I would like to propose a solution. This should be an opportunity for AFOL/frequent clientele to interact better with the store employees/managers. I know the manager of Sawgrass, and I am sure lots of members communicate with their staff. If there is still a profit motive, we can ask to "Secretly" fill Pick-A-Brick cups with bag material or get a bulk discount as a club. But as I said, this leftover material may not be permitted to serve for profit. We may be able to get the stuff given away instead of thrown away, like a sandwich at Starbucks at the end of the day. I would definitely like this to be a means of discussion for us to benefit since we are LEGO's brothers and sisters essentially. -
This is certainly a dream come true! I LOVE IT! I can't wait to have it for Christmas. Should be out just before that anyway. LEGO is finally listening to its fans I suppose, as this has been on many AFOL wishlists for ages. Brilliant and GREAT Move LEGO!

I'm actually a bit disappointed with the new sets save for the Great Vehicles. We could use a Bakery, store, warehouse with shipping logistics, or just something different. Friends is a success and they have a bakery (or ice cream parlor, I'm not too sure). SWAT isn't too bad but it seems like an excuse to continue repeating the Police line.

PAB Cups: What Did You Get?
brickbuilder711 replied to ACCURATEin's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Correct... LL Florida shoppers were very lucky as members of FIRST and GFLUG were the main folks to get a hold of the likes of Friends elements, Dark Tan 1x1 plates, and more real goodies. However, on every other day the selection is no different than a LEGO Store much like Orlando LIC and you can of course get a better bargain. See: But I have a solution for the weight pricing... If someone can defy physics and slow down the force of gravity, we would be paying for little more than mass... -
Orlando Lego Store suggestions / info?
brickbuilder711 replied to _JDB's topic in General LEGO Discussion
PAB should have yellow and red 2x2 tiles. When I went there weren't any dark tan but since this is a very high volume store the wall changes very frequently. Sopworth is still there for 75+ but I think there could be an item exclusive to Orlando there. -
