  1. I like it! but why does the propeller wobble that much?
  2. How about a studless beam and a gear, they don't fit together without help either!!!
  3. looking good efferman! maybe the steering would be easier if the boat had fins on the underside of the hull. But that would be difficult to do as your hulls are one piece. But the rear part has panels that are not part of the hull, maybe extend those a bit lower into the water?
  4. great idea! actually, I experimented with all the pneumatics I have (as that wouldn't disqualify my MOC from entering the challenge ) making a closed circuit on the bottom of the boat and pumping it up, but the pneumatic hoses are just too small to really make any floating possible. I'm trying to keep brainstorming, as there is quite a bit of space in the hull that I would theoretically be able to fit some sort of floating device in. Maybe I'll get that old LEGO City police boat hull out and see if it fits ...
  5. I have added some pictures to my Flickr account, any feedback is welcome: Power Boat
  6. I like it a lot, looking forward to seeing the body style you have planned
  7. Looking good! Looking forward to seeing the finished product
  8. TSATS entry Power Boat With Two Axle Trailer It's my first MOC ever, pleae be gentle! To sail the Technic sea can best be done with a power boat, there is no better feeling than to cruise the Caribbean with the warm wind in your hair, going at high speed through the water! It features an intricate steering mechanism, an M-Motor powered propeller, reclinable seats and bench, a rear hatch containing the battery box, 1 M-Motor, 1 battery box It has an outboard motor which has a working propeller and working steering. the battery box is hidden and can be easily accessed by a hatch on the rear side of the boat. There are two front seats and a rear bench Creating the body was the most difficult thing to do, as it has many odd shapes and it should be instantly recognizable as a power boat. All in all I am quite happy with the result. Overall length of the boat is 72 cm (28¨) (including the outboard motor), width is 17 cm (7¨) It uses one M-Motor for propulsion, which is 'hidden' in the outboard motor. The battery box is hidden under a panel on the rear of the boat. For fun, I modified the 9395 Tow Truck to pull the trailer and power boat. I sincerely hope you enjoy my creation, it was lots of fun to build and I am already looking forward to the next Technic challenge! Please also check out the video:
  9. I'm amazed, you make great models!
  10. I once read an interview with a LEGO Technic designer who said the designing engineers have a lot of their own projects, most of them of course too big too complex or too expensive to bring out as a set. He also said they have more material in the pipeline than the amount of sets they can bring out. So I think those big/complex/amazing models already exist somewhere, LEGO just doesn't put them into production because of (understandable) reasons. Once an engineer has designed a project, the design goes to another engineer who tries to edit it to make it buildable for the appropriate age group (ie 11 - 16 years old) and to make it cost less where possible. I think LEGO can decide to go the road of big complex models - they just have to decide to. My theory is that the Unimog was an experiment in that direction (aimed at adults as well) - it sure worked for me, it got me out of my dark ages as the Unimog was my first 'renaissance' set. I'm hoping, since the Unimog is such a great success, that LEGO feels confident enough to conquer the new market of adult fans. I just wonder how much priority it has within the LEGO company.
  11. and I found a different seller who is also selling the Countach - instructions I have reported them as well man, what a bunch of a$$holes, trying to make money off someone else's hard work!
  12. He is from the Netherlands. I have reported him to marktplaats.nl and also sent him an email saying he should remove the ad. hope this helps, TM
  13. great outriggers, my compliments! can you connect it to the PTO to make them extend without having to turn a knob?
  14. theoretically a fancy snow plough would be possible as well. But I don't give it a good chance of winning first prize!
  15. wow, that crawler looks amazing, great job!
  16. Call me crazy but I like the colors a lot. Plus you can see which side is the front and which side is the back! on another note, if the chassis and cab do come apart easily one could combine the chassis with the Unimog cab, just like they sometimes do in real life:
  17. I'm definitely looking forward to both the helicopter and the crawler, I'm hoping for an 'in action' video of the helicopter as well from the toy fair.
  18. I finally finished my MOC for the Unimog U400, and made the video of it in use last night. I was playing with the idea of making a pneumatic scissor lift for a while, after several experiments I came up with a working solution you can see below. It uses two pneumatic cylinders, powered by the compressor of the Unimog. I went ahead and created an outriggers attachment that can be attached to the front or the back just like other Unimog attachments, roughly inspired by the red outriggers on the Unimog crane that comes with the set. The Unimog really needs some permanent outriggers in my opinion, maybe that will be my next project. The main difficulty being the lack of space just behind the cab (where the outriggers normally are). Some future ideas/improvements that I'm playing with are: * making the scissor lift pneumatics controllable from a switch on the platform itself as well as from below. (I made a rough sketch): * making the platform extendable, either by using pneumatics or LAs. * making the platform rotate, using the rear PTO. and here's my video on youtube: let me know what you think!
  19. So far, almost every set I own has missed at least one piece
  20. Since I have so many yellow parts lying around I think I might try a different color combination, like yellow panels on a black frame. I'm curious what that would look like. But first things first, am building the model in red now. thanks again Paul for designing such an awesome looking car!
  21. I think it looks good! what about making the panels orange, like the MULAG mowers normally are?
