  1. I'm in Munich, Germany and I can't imagine there are no other afols here - though I haven't met any yet.
  2. IMHO those ridiculously high prices for LEGO sets are just a bubble. Who is buying them? Do they ever get sold? There is a neat feature on ebay.de called 'beendete Angebote' (it's called 'completed listings' on ebay.com) where you can see how much the auctions went for. I've been following them and several 8421s went for around 80 euros!
  3. Nce entry! Looking forward to the video
  4. progess looking good! is that rubber band an official lego piece?
  5. well, I would not be surprised to see the 9398 selling for €140 - or even less in many places. list price for the unimog is €199, and it's available for €140 on ebay.de currently A smart shopper will be able to get the crawler for at the most 120 - 130 € IMHO
  6. Hell yes! They have the "trusted shops" seal! Are you in Germany?
  7. found this on colludo.de: €139,99 for the 9398 (list price 169,97) available from August
  8. after the beautiful A and B models, we finally also have a sea model for the 8068!
  9. 12 more days to go and we already have 12 entries - i am very curious who is holding back/ still working hard at their MOCs before the deadline passes! I hope TLG is watching this topic, they certainly have not made a lot of ships and this challenge proves you can make great ship models using technic.
  10. Great entry! I like that it actually can go in the water, you did a nice job keeping the weight down
  11. I just made a little video of the underside, the beer is so you can see the scale
  12. 5,5 meters high, wow! very nice model!
  13. can't play the video, it says the player does not support this video (I'm using WMP)
  14. thanks for your positive feedback! It's my first MOC ever, so I'm still a little nervous about posting here. I built most of the boat in one day, I had a clear idea in my head of what it should look like and kept going until I got it right. as for the black engine: very good point! it's just that I don't have enough black panels unfortunately. Maybe I'll still make it before the deadline though, a black engine would look great. When I saw your boat entry I also saw the similarities with my idea - great minds think alike! I really like what you did with your creation, amazing that you built it out of just one set
  15. very nice entry, tomik! can't wait for your building instructions, looks like a nice little boat to build
  16. Very nice! I like the sound it makes
  17. I had the idea of making a technic ship a couple of weeks before the TSATS challenge was mentioned here, for the exact reason that I wanted to make something that isn't readily available from LEGO and because I love ships and build them out of plastic and wood as well. I think it's a world that lego either didn't open up yet or they are afraid it won't sell well. I guess cars are more fun to play with (unless the boat would actually float) but nevertheless I do get a little sick of every LEGO Technic set that comes out being a car truck or building site vehicle... I'm guessing if TLG reads this forum they may seriously consider bringing out a ship of some sort in the near future. Or maybe their designers are already woring on it In any case, compliments to whomever came up with the TSATS challenge - it's spot on, exploring a relatively unknown Technic area!
  18. nope, I tried inflating pneumatic tubes on the underside but it doesn't create enough lift. I'm thinking pneumatic air tanks may be more successful but I don't have any. Someone mentioned inflating a balloon in the body, I may try that. would be cool if it could float, it's supposed to be a boat after all!
  19. next task: make a technic fish !
  20. we must have more or less the same sets in our collection I guess
  21. nice entry, efferman! just a pity it decreases my chances of winning!
