Star Wars Constraction 2015 Discussion

As far as I know, it only really works on softer plastic light that used on the chestplates. But, try it and see! Fair warning: It takes a while... -
The first head was an attempt at the generic head design that quite a few of them shared. But, I may have a go at replicating some of the others, sure!

Which by the way is suuuuuuuuuper easy. You can either use nail polish remover (fast, risky) or a pencil eraser (slow, safe). -
What was the worst construction set?

I think this particular discussion should go to a different thread. -
Well, the originals weren't exactly warm and happy :P

It'd be easy to give the second one eyes like the second - just replace the 1x3 plates with 1x2 plates and you'll have space for the lamp bricks :) Thanks!

So, with the , I got inspired and designed two System-based Voodoo Head heads that could be used on replicas of the prototypes themselves, or custom Voodoo Heads. Click the head of your choice for more pictures and parts inventories. Skinny head Bulkier head If anyone wants to use these heads in their own creations, or has even designed heads of their own design, feel free to share them here! Maybe we can start our own tribe on Voodoo island

What was the worst construction set?

Yeah, a lot of the time, even in sets, you'd have so many different textures all over the place with G1 builds, whereas the CCBS has a much more unified look to it. "But details!" you cry, Tahu Mata clutched tightly to your nostalgic heart. Yes, detail is great - if done right. I don't mean to say that G1 MOCs or sets are intrinsically mish-mashed - as long as similar shapes and textures are used throughout the model, it's all good. But, for example, having the slick sloping of the Piraka leg pieces next to the blocky nature of things like the Vahki leg pieces, and then a hurricane of exposed Technic beams all over the shop, just looks naff. Sadly, this is all too common. I think MOCists especially need to remember that the most complicated solution to a problem isn't always the best. Yes, engineering something really unique with much ingenuity is impressive, but does it look good? Yes, Lego is a practical medium, but it's also an aesthetic medium. -
The motorised one? Yeah, he's pretty horrifying.

I know this isn't G2 related, but I just want to point out that Christian Faber has released ... And he shows us the Voodoo Heads! Most of these are never before seen concept models, so this is pretty bloody amazing!

That's unnecessarily dismissive. Things don't need to be as realistic as a technical manual to be "of some quality"... Yeesh.

This is the thing with sites like AliExpress. Products get listed under all sorts of kooky, lengthy titles, which often mean nothing much at all - basically poor man's SEO. These four are probably sold by a different seller than Grievous, hence the different titling. I know way too much about this than I should. -

Found the rest of the knockoffs based on that Cuusoo project. I shan't be ordering these myself, but hey-ho. -

I actually just ordered a pair, mainly for tan CCBS! I've actually bought stuff by this company before, and it's decent - not amazing, but not bad. -
