I can't stand it when LEGO sets look blocky.

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Don't forget the kids that just got done watching TCW in the 5-12 year old range. There is a good amount of them that love the PT era. What sells well is subjective. OT fans buy OT sets, PT and TCW fans buy PT and TCW sets. My 9-yo son owns 23 LEGO SW sets and he only owns 1 PT/EU set, the Imperial Dropship from 2008 that came with the Stormtroopers. I'm glad that we have more solid information on the upcoming sets. I'm really excited to see and learn more about the Rebels sets. -
LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors

Despite what month certain waves were released, fans continued to buy LEGO regardless of this. LEGO is a company and will release products based on their marketing plans. Does it bother me? A little but in the end LEGO's still getting money out of my wallet. -
LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors

Saw the new SW BPs at a local toy store this evening. They looked awesome but at 16,99 €, I couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger. With the exchange rate, that comes out to roughly $21.75 USD. I'll just wait until these sets are available at US retail to purchase them. Not quite 2:1 but I can build an army for significantly cheaper. -
With all the Ep II sets that were recently updated, I'm surprised we didn't get a new Hailfire Droid. LEGO moved onto Ep III and we have an idea of what we're getting this summer so although I'm very doubtful, we may be surprised at some point.

Silver Linings Playbook. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this movie. -
LEGO LotR - general discussion

There are quite a bit of deals to find on Bricklink. If you have a lot of time and patience, you can find some minifigs for very reasonable prices. Due to a family move and settling in at a new job location, I missed out on quite a bit of the 1st wave of LotR. I'm hoping the LotR theme continues. So many possibilities. -
Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here

I would go for more of the Geonosian cannon since they were featured in Ep II. I really don't remember seeing the Corporate Alliance Tank Droid on Geonosis though. I would add Hailfire droids if you have any. -
LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors

Personally I would like to see an update from the one piece helmet/backpack for the Snowtroopers. The only way they can be posed right now is with their head forward. I can't wait to see the minifigs we get with the AT-AT. -

Thanks for the update and sharing the links. It's probably just me but seeing the Episode names just makes this all a little more real for me. -
@ Andy D. Thanks for mentioning BaseBrick. I just perused their website and I'm liking everything I see so far. The only thing that's slowing me down ffrom registering is knowing I'll be putting a lot of time to that website.

^ I've been thinking the same thing reading posts since the catalog pics came out. -
Emotionally, I would be shocked and upset if this happened. TCW brought my family into the Hasbro action figures and shortly after that into LEGO SW. It's been over 4 years now that LEGO SW has been in our lives and with the way Hasbro has treated Star Wars with their poor distribution and quality (articulation), the only SW we have now is in LEGO. However as I put more thought into this, quite a few of the sets that have been getting released are rehashes. The excitement over new sets isn't the same as it used to be and I find myself picking up minifigs on Bricklink over buying full sets. If LEGO really came to an end, I'm sure the money I spend on LEGO would go to something else within a year.

What was the last movie you watched?

Watched Insidious and Insidious 2 with my wife and kids. Really like the way these movies went together. -
That needs to be updated. I can't believe it's already over 5 years old. I agree with Faefrost's thoughts on the future of LEGO SW. We'll see how things pan out.

LEGO LotR - general discussion
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to General Magma's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I won't argue on what specifically ended the Kingdoms sub-theme because we may never truly know. Looking back I know there was a lot of speculation from Kingdoms fans at what seemed to be the unexpected end of that sub-theme. In the US, wave 2 was released in the Summer and was taken off S@H and retail stores after the Holidays that year. So yes, Kingdoms as a whole was on retail shelves for about 2 years but that 2nd wave lasted only about 6 months. Kingdoms did live on directly through LEGO Stores and S@H. Joust was the last true set, the Chess set is a Chess set. That was over 2-yrs ago now but looking back at it, I'll stop blaming LotR for the end of Kingdoms. There's circumstantial evidence supporting both arguements and in the end nothing's going to change where we're at now. Moving forward, I was just starting to get into LEGO LotR and it seems like it may be ending. I'll be purchasing the 2nd wave and try to get the sets I missed from the 1st wave. If we get more sets, I'll be purchasing those too. Did you mean to post this on the SW page? I'd like to get some of those sets that are yet to be released. -
LEGO LotR - general discussion
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to General Magma's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Sorry for not clarifying, I was referring to the specific Kingdoms subtheme that I believe had more to offer. As it stands, I own more Kingdoms sets than I do LotR. That may change though since the future of LEGO LotR is uncertain. -
What's your recent LEGO Star Wars Purchase?

Thanks for sharing your find. This is just great though. I got out of comics almost 15-years ago and now I'm going to be sucked into buying some again. -
I'm so impressed by how well the house is done. All the details that were added just put this set on my want list. The minifigs can use a little improvement but I've already overlooked that.

I thought vulture droids for some reason. Since you mentioned TIE Interceptor, I can see that as well.
