  1. It reminds me of those unnatural way of building LEGO parts together. If you can't get it out, get a new piece. It's not an expensive part. Just an useful reminder, before you try to attempt to do something extraordinary, do prepare spare parts. You will never know when you need it.
  2. Actually, I have so many of such knights.... until I was forced to form a section of each colored knights... I had to modify each of the unique color representation of the knights to signify its commander. I never regard Lord Vladek as that figure.. I was forced to change its appearence, as there were too many of it which is why I had to form a battalion of Scorpion Knights with that barding. I am not a big fan of KK, but it was something that I collected when I am slowly coming out of the Dark Age...
  3. It's not common for me, to praise other's work due to its darkness, and yet display such good clarity in it. Now, that's what I called approriate setting for a night scene. In this short teaser, you have done a good job especially its speech bubble. I am trying to do comic scripts for my recent EB News Review productions and was not successful in doing so with the speech bubbles feature. Good job. I will be following yours as well.
  4. Guys, I will like to ask if Batman theme is going to continue in 2009? It seemed they had released 13 sets so far over a span of 2 years. Well, the reason I am asking is, because I had just bought the Tumbler and Harley Quinn sets last weekend. I am extremely pleased with it, as I am going to start building it over the next few weeks. The thing is, I actually wished Batman will continue. I never got into Batman theme, and actually owned a total of 3 sets. It will be very sad to know that Batman is not able to continue to 2009. It's a very good theme, to let it go to waste, despite of its strong fan base. Perhaps, if I had extra funding somehow, I will likely collect the rest of the sets if possible. Just to let you guys know that, I do wish Batman theme will continue, even though I don't check it regularly.
  5. Hey Inertia, actually I got both my advent calenders from Bricksworld. Have to get it from them, since I reserved it long time ago, since they are unsure whether it will bring these into Singapore. If I remembered correctly, this is the first time ever we see Advent Calenders in here, as offical products unlike previous years. Anyway, you must defintely get it. I will defintely plan to buy more of these for its figures and accessories. It's very useful even though it's a little expensive. Well, the Jester, Maiden and the Dwarf make up for it. So, I think its worthwhile to get more. Well, I need to see what are the sets I am going to open next, and what evil thoughts might come into my mind!
  6. Thanks guys for your great words! Aww, it's most unfortunate to know that you gotten a parking ticket. I hope you did not get one, when you are shopping for LEGO. Hope to see you get some of it as well. I had managed to bought 2 so far. LuxorV, thanks! I am so happy to know that you enjoyed reading the descriptions. It's my first time to experiement this review and presented it in a different approach. This review has done its job, and I am glad it cleared your doubts about this set and presented it in a clearer perspective.
  7. Finally, the Divers theme's "Crown Jewel" has appeared. By far, this is the most impressive Divers set, ever released. From the range of minifigs to a batch of useful aquatic accessories, and lovely sea creatures living in the deep blue. The fishing boat is very nice and lovely with its blue and white color combination. The Captian's cabin, which featured a good range of navigation equipment and an useful radar to detect marine creatures. In addition, the end of the boat has attached to it whip some fishes? I meant wreckage. The exploration submarine is cool with its yellow design and cockpit. It reminded me of the 7776 Shipwreck from Aqua Raiders. In fact, I find both themes matched each other very well. The difference could be both themes' different agenda. The Divers are a group of caring environmentalist or scientists whom cares for the ocean and marine creature. Furthermore, the underwater lab offers very high playability. In fact, I find it very fun to play with its set up. One interesting feature will defintely be its X-Ray machine to scan micro-scopic marine creatures. In terms of LEGO collectors, printed tiles are more than welcome. The underwater set up, is vast with its 2 sets of 16x16 baseplates to illustrate the ocean floor? The plants, ferns, burps, etc, are great to create a wonderful underwater scene, when all parts come together as one. I must rate this set, a "5" and the overall Divers theme a "5" as well. I believe you understand how I felt the Divers theme and I really love it very much. It's most unfortunate that this theme was in my dark age. Once again, incredible review by an outstanding reviewer.
  8. Great review! You have indeed make me felt regret back then, to pass out this set last year. Now, I have a good look on what this set is all about. The gifts, carriages, and its overall look are very nice, not to pass out. I felt that the down part of this set, is the lack of engine. Other than that, I think it's great.
  9. Aliencat, your modular buildings are superb. I love it very much. They are great stuff. Will it be possible to arrange all modular buildings together on street. I am sure it will look very impressive. The Town Hall's gothic looks, is certainly very incredible. Thanks for sharing. I will be looking forward to more of your such creations.
  10. Thanks for the review. In this set, the barding from the Scorpion Knights appeal to me. It is an useful barding to create a group of mounted dark knights. Vladek looks quite cool. However, I am not a big fan of KK series. The barding was the main interest and highlight in this set. Other than that, I am not very excited or pleased with it. I voted an average for it.
  11. Oh gosh... Even during the day, we are no longer safe... It seemed this Baritones have Day actions instead of Night actions or equally both... Which means, there is a possibility that the last Baritones standing will be very elusive, trying to mingle among us... Oh god... Is there any other clues which we can fall upon to....
  12. Hey Shadows, thanks for the spice up. It's great and very enjoyable to read. I can never write something enternaining like yours because I am such a dull person. Thanks Erdbeereis1. It's nice to have this wonderful set with 3 exclusive figs. I think the Jester's head is new print. All heads are single sided except for the maiden. Glad your calender is on its way to you. Hey Stauder, you are the "star" of this review. Next time, there will be more bizzard and interesting content. JopieK, opps I thought I dropped it in the Academy. Woo hoo, 3 sets. I will get more of these next month. This set is really exciting to have, when you are a castle collector and I am a big fan of it. What's going on with the witch? The witch reminds me of your first love? Wow, that's really something amazing. I am very sure you will get more of the witch. Personally, I love the maiden, jester and dwarf mainly. Yes, the witch is lovely but I don't need so many witches by my side, unless I intending to build more appertice. The Pirate Advent Calender, is a sweet idea too... Perhaps next year? Thanks bro! I was rushing out both City and Castle advent reviews as soon as possible. I don't like to delay such excitement. Glad you enjoyed reading it. Let me know how is your feeling when you opened yours. It was an exciting experience for me to open two advent sets in one day.
  13. I can't let the readers wait for me, to reveal bit by bit. The wait can be quite unbearable. I just hope you had enjoyed it as I had try to push this review as soon as I can from last night till now.
  14. LuxorV, it's sooner than you think! Actually, I just wanted to put a short teaser, to test something. All is complete, except for a final touch which I am waiting. Hope you enjoyed reading it this time round.. Our EB News Reviews 4th Installment is finally ready for viewing! Come on everyone, let me know how you really feel!
  15. Welcome to EB News Reviews! I'm your host, Lord Reginald Horatio Pendragon III, but you can call me Shadows. This will be a special surprise for all of you, as we will presenting our 4th installment of EB News Reviews LIVE from the past! Yes, it's another one of my time travel plots, just shut up. In this episode, oh forget it. They're rolling their eyes at me, and if I say the next part, I'll lose what little credibility I have left. Please Shadows? I hear we're getting a pay bonus on this one for hazardous duty and he isn't in it at all. He isn't? Oh, well then! Tonight, in a very special episode, we will re-visit one of the greatest historical moments in Crown Kingdom, when Sir Stauder the Great, brave leader of the Guardian Knights led his Kingdom to victory in an epic struggle of good versus evil, not entirely unlike when our own Staudie has to comb his hair in the morning and can't get the two sides to match. Left side, good, right side, evil! So, with all of that in mind, I think it's time to get this show on the road. Are you ready, WhiteFang? Ready as I ever am. Then away we go! *casts a quick spell with a flourish, a puff of smoke and a cheese sandwich* Name: Castle Advent Calender Theme: LEGO /Holiday / Christmas / Advent Calender Year: 2008 Pieces: 176 Minifigs: 9 Price: SGD$36.90 *In the middle of nowhere* My head is getting cluttered with colorful pictures. These must be some mirage or hallucination due to our dimensional lag. We'll be there soon. Now, for the final lap! Featured set: Castle Advent Calender 2008 Rear box's image 24 Gifts with different surprise Leftovers *CLANG BANGGGG BOOOM* Ouch! My head is hurt. Stop moving.. The camera is about to roll.. Why is this wierdo with a microphone standing beside me? I a-m Sir Stau-der, lea-der of the Gu-ardian K-nights. Bo-th of you a-re intr-uding my k-in-gd-om, are-n't yo-u? I can't take his accent.... It's too difficult for me to understand anything. No problem, I have a tool for just such an occasion, it almost makes him sound like he can speak English. Translator ON! I am Sir Stauder, leader of..... Would you stop moving around? Oh, hello Shadows, it has been a long time! You know him already? Yeah, he'll save my life eventually. Eventually? It hasn't happened yet? No, and when he does... well, I'll explain later. *Camera Rolls* Here we are, EB News Reviews: Medieval Edition! Welcome travelers from far distant land. May I invite you to my humble castle in this Northern Highlands... Here we are, we have reached the mini-eastern gate. Don't you think he looks a little like Staudie? That's his great-great-great (insert a lot of greats here) grandfather. His face may looks like Staudie but Staudie can't speak perfect English like him It's because we are wearing the translators. It seemed our camera boys are in proper disguise too. This is our town square and....Look at that pretty maiden over there. Hello there. Let me use my charm to seduce her over. Get out of here, you pesky little rat! Take THIS, and THIS and THAT! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I am not a rat!! Help me!!! This is where our archers train our marksman. One shot one kill.. Impressive, aren't they? Impressive? I think my team forest ranger can do a much better job. Why don't we play a challenge? Try sitting down in front of the target board, and my forest ranger will hit a bull’s-eye. Jolly well, Sir WhiteFang. Let the challenge begins... CARDINAL BRICK!! Give your best shot! Sir Stauder, you may quit the challenge if you want... Quit yapping and start aiming. Here goes nothing!! *Swoosh* Bull’s-eye!! Where is my red plume?? You owed us a fiesta.. That will be evening's dinner.. Where have you gone to? I was jogging around Town Square earlier. This is an impressive mining area. Indeed, we hired the dwarves to mine for gold and precious metal for our kingdom's funding. You sure have a big chamber to yourself alone... This armor looks fitting for me. Stop messing around with it. That is my spare armor in case of any emergency. What kind of emergency will that be! My lord, someone has attacked the western gates.. Here we go! Time to execute my evil master plan! It's good that I have enough budget to rent this little shanty outside the gates.. My minions, rise and attack!! Our mistress has issued the command of attack.. Let's charge!!!! *THE WESTERN GATE IS UNDER ATTACK* Hey guys.. The crops are all over the place. I wonder what had happened here... Hi there! Are you suffering from hunger? You look awful green... Both of you, why are you as thin as a skeleton? That is because, there are skeletons and orcs! I will save all of you from these foul creatures! Everyone, let's retreat! Crazy man with a crossbow cart is charging at us... I am going to get rid of you, evil witch for disturbing the peace which my citizens are enjoying.. Eat my lightning bolt! I won't be easily stopped by that pathetic lightning bolt! Eat my twin blades! I will blast you to pieces, nosey parker! I had ran out of mana. Time for me to sneak out! Ahhhhhhhhhhh, I am going to get you, evil witch! OH MY GOD! You are such a silly witch. Fell into your own stew... That's the end of you.... Or is it? Actually, no. She'll come back, try to kill me, you'll save me then she'll curse your whole family with decreasing intelligence. By the time we meet Staudie, he'll be dumber than that jester you have around here. Oh man, I'd almost forgotten about him... Bummer. Seriously... I am so glad everyone is safe. I had close encounters with those pesky undead. That was a bad experience Enough war for one day, let's make merry with beer and food.. I had asked my in-house Jester to come in and entertain us with his jokes.. Ugh. When "Hinckley" and "Sinner" come together? What do you call them? Hinck and Sin? Nope! It's called the "Walrus and the Whacker." Geez, what kind of crappy joke was that? And people complain about my jokes... Oh, and it's the "Whacker and the Walrus". He'll kill you if he doesn't get top billing. Guess it's time for us to head home. Let's take a group picture of our cast and the advent characters before we head for a commerical break. That's all everyone. Overall, we felt that this is a set which has great potential with wonderful parts and accessories. More importantly, there are great minifigs such as the Jester and the Maiden which are exclusive to this set only. Therefore, we strongly recommend you guys pick up this set.. See you soon! Everyone, thanks for viewing! Hope you had enjoyed it. I will bring you another exciting, interactive and informative review soon, here exclusive, only on EB News Reviews! *Camera Fades*
  16. Zorro3999, if you are interested to buy things from SuvieD, I will recommend you to pm him, on what are the things you want and your recommended budget. It will be best to ask him personally instead of doing wild speculation.
  17. Day 5 is completed within such a short timeframe. That is something amazing.
  18. Wulf, the black camera is a part of its own. You can't build the exact replica. It was matched up with a black goblet, to represent the lens upon zooming.
  19. I think that is not supposed to be a pizza. I remembered one member mentioned it before somewhere in the Advent Calender thread, saying it was some kind if Italian dish. I will try and find the correct term. Please do take alook. Do hope to see you on the other side.
  20. Darth Legois, here you go.. A special picture request.. Pardon for the poor lightning.. I did not have time to do a proper set up. Hope you like it. Metalandi, ever thought of joining the Reviewers Academy? You do good reviews too. Why don't you join up and learn something new? Hope you will get hold of the Advent sets soon.. It's very nice indeed, compared with past advent calenders.
  21. You had pretty good instinct to that? I wonder how accurate can it be... Or you might know there is someone else whom might want to bump Baritones off, since the Arsonist takes no allegiance on both sides.... You feared that the arsonist might kill off your members by mistake... It's most unfortunate... Florence was right on both events... I will trust her judgement, and send you down to justice... Vote: Iris/I Scream Clone
  22. Iris, I want to know how the hell you know there was an Arsonist existence? There was no mention of it until yesterday when you are the first one to separate the Arsonist and the Baritones as two separate entry. This is my question to you. What basis did you have, to judge there is an arsonist..... I know we have eliminated the Arsonist, and it's over.. ' My concern is, how did you obtain such reliable information? Did you keep something from us, which we do not know?
  23. (OOC: I just noticed her reply when I was typing mine.) Oh Florence, you have helped us again and again. The good citizens of Moonlight, thank you once again. Now, are we going to believe Florence, one last time? I do hope Iris could explain herself. I was very curious from the start of Day 4. How could anyone know there is another "arsonist" moving around in the town that is a renegade... Iris, you are the one whom know this.... Could you explain to us what happened? Another note, Neal also mentioned something to us before his death "There is someone else whom we should worried too, apart from the Baritones." I have my beliefs on Neal, that he is trying to warn us at the first place despite of his earlier investigations...
  24. There must be one to two Baritones left in Moonville. Since two of our good citizens are brutally murdered in the sleep, there is a possibility of 2 Baritones doing the devil action in the night. We must end the Baritones as soon as possible before innocent good citizens falls into the hands of darkness. We can't be hasty in judging our fellow citizens without adequate judgement to the case. We must establish our findings and convict the ones whom are the devils' in disguise.
  25. Thanks for all of your kind words. I am happy to know that you have enjoyed reading this review. Tsk tsk, if you are going to be a good boy. You ought not to view my review until Dec 25th. I never knew the Chef's torso is different. All this while, I thought both chefs from past and present are wearing the same outfit all this while. Thanks for pointing it out. No problem. Actually, I took that picture but I can't seem to find it in my camera earlier. Never mind, I will re-take it later, if possible. This is my sentiments as well. These food items will allow our Town Folks to have a food galore in national parks.
