  1. Happy Birthday Christian! Hope things are doing well for you, and have a great day. See ya around.
  2. Very interesting topic! Among my current collection, my town and city collection is growing steadily ever since I regain my interest in them. I have the urge to buy at least 2 sets for most of my LEGO themes which I had ever purchase. One will be kept safe for MISB and one shall be for Display and Playing purposes. It's a very costly and expensive way to collect LEGO especially when you are in for multiple sets. In this way, I will have to prioritise my liking accordingly through various Classic Town, City, Exclusives and Modular City Buildings released thus far. Most of my building and larger sets are in MISB, as to put across bluntly, I simply do not have the space and display area to showcase them after building them. I will need to purchase large storage plastic containers to place them inside in order to preserve and prevent dust from invading. For my Modular City buildings which consist of Cafe Corner, Green Grocer and Market Street is a great combination set for any City Lovers. Unfortunately, most of these sets are only available in overseas or exclusive to Shop@Home, which make it even more costly for it to invest multiple. Therefore, these treasures are still in mint until I am able to find a safe place to store them. Getting 2 x Town Plan is worthwhile simply for its nostaligic classic feeling for its buildings and minifigs. One of my best Classic set which I am looking forward to open is the 10159 City Airport that is part of the LEGEND Series. I am glad to own 2 sets of them, in MISB, and I am actually intending to open both of these to build a larger runway due to the large amount of baseplates available, passenger planes and tons of airport staff and passengers. I don't own much past Classic Town sets which are released in 1980s and most of these sets are broken apart and stored in a mess. It's extremely hard to revive and restore this sets. I did consider buying them off via eBay or BrickLink, but the current City collection is tempting me which make me focus to concerate on the existing release first. Despite of that, there are still few Classic Town childhood set which I am looking such as the 6386 Police Command Base and 6378 Shell Service Station. Ever since the re-released of minifig town pack such as the 8401 City Minifig collection, I had buying multiples of these, simply to build up its town citizens. Before that, I had to source for the 9247 Community Workers and expand my minifigs with those Classic smiley. I did have an extra set, but I gave it to my gf last year on her birthday, and she loved it because of the tons of minifigs in there. As for the recent City collection, I had completed certain sub themes, such as Harbour, Police, Airport, Coast Guard and etc. In fact, I opened most of the small to medium sets' vehicles as these are relatively much easier to store. Most of these themes which are mainly buildings are still kept in my boxes and I only bought one to play, unlike the exclusives or able to expand like those army building kinds. I always look for town and city sets which is part of my future tabletop master plan, which consist of various sub themes that can be integrated together. With the current Farm, Construction, and Transport related sets, I can't stop to expand mine town at a rapid rate. Right now, I am saving up to get a few City Corner sets and almost every of the upcoming City sets available in Summer. I don't think I will be buying lots of multiple as there are other themes which I am collecting too, unless it's value for money or useful for my expansion, more importantly to my liking. One of the main consideration right now, is to think whether to include a train setup and this is still under careful consideration, as I am not sure how much I am able to sustain a railway setup inside my town plan. Guess I had written a little bit off track or too much, I will add more of it later, if I could think of any.
  3. Speaking about potential landmines, you sure know how to plot those "unexpected mishaps".
  4. koffiemoc, that is just so lovely and outstanding. This entry is filled with so much details and yet so classical at the same time. There are so much activities and details happening in every one single minifig depicting their lives inside this scene such as the cook preparing its store, a civilian enjoying its morning coffee, policeman on duty, cleaner working on the statue and street cleaner working on the pavement. Apart from that, those classical buildings such as Snack Bar and Warehouse give a very classical feel. I supposed the main beauty of this scene, is its Classical Train station. I am sure avid train fans like TheBrickster will love to have this station inside their train setup. It's very nicely done, and the morning train is great too. The statue is a very nice touch. The 3 pictures' restriction do not display the true beauty of this set, and I strongly urge all to take a look at his Flicker for more closeup images. Well done, and this entry has been featured in Classic-Town.net.
  5. I had merged and moved this topic here, since it's all Brickshelf's related.
  6. I love to have wings.

  8. I had merged your topic into here. I am not very sure about this set, but it does provide some sort of playability, I believe.
  9. Very fun reading review filled with lots of interactive comments. I enjoyed reading it, which give me a very good overview of this set. It's incredible to see a review talking about a minifig, spanning across the review for quite a fair bit. Well done. I really wish to have this polybag too.
  10. No problem, Teddy. I couldn't want to disqualify an entry, especially when you have put in lots of efforts into it, and I did allow some exceptions for the rest of the participants too. Good luck in this contest.
  11. I really really enjoyed reading this review, especially when this is one of the better looking castle drawbridge compared to the recent KK2 version. The minifigs array is superb, and there is quite a few exclusive minifigs as well, on the Golden Knight and the Queen. In this case, it's a winner. mania3, I am wondering, if there is a possibility for purchasing two drawbridge and place it back to back from each other, creating a longer path. I am curious.
  12. Hey Shadows, It maybe a little too early for the rest to drop their greetings, but it's past 12 midnight on my side, and I will like to wish you Happy Birthday, my friend. Look forward to another beautiful day of your life and lots of joy in it. Take great care, my friend, and may these past EB News Reviews' images which was done last year, served as beautiful memories working together as a team in EB News. Oh no, she has spotted me! I think ImperialShadows appear to be young in this outfit. Blame Staudie, not my fault? Our group photo! WhiteFang

  15. It meant, it will finish at 13th May, 12pm in my timezone, which is GMT+8. That's not important right now, as there will be a special announcement later on. 17. Well done guys, this has been another exciting Pirates contest for the Staff. Thanks Zorro for organising this. These are my votes, Slyowl: 1 LuxorV: 1 Captain Zuloo: 1
  18. Now, I know what you have been busy building for the past few months. I must admit that I had not been following closely on your progress. Nevertheless, I am not late to admire with envy at this marvel huge creation of yours. The sheer scale and design of this ship is extremely realistic, judging from its different angles. Although I am not familar with ship building, but this is one ship from far, which looks like a musuem artifact. I love it.
  19. Outstanding piece of work! I was thinking if you are going to give this contest a miss. The entire Classic Town scene setup is wonderful, especially with the unique use of monorail as your key transportation. Although it is not a real monorail, but the scale and size for a 4-stud monorail is just so incredible. In addition, those 4-stud wide vehicles is plain lovely. At the same time, it's possible to view all its small activities happening over at the popcorn stand, bus stop, plus classical buildings rendition of the inn and bank. I enjoyed viewing this very much. Glad you made it in time, and this entry has been covered in Classic-Town.net.
  20. Erdy, superb nice creation. It is reminding me, to get myself a holiday. As I am pretty familar with aiports setup, I am pleased to know that you have gotten this right, with your combination. It's smart to see this travelator being deployed in a MOC like this. The way you position your minifigs do give others a feel that it's moving. See you soon.
  21. Glad it helps. I had merged your topic into this, to consolidate similar discussion together. Thanks.
  22. Dear all, Please note that the deadline for this contest ends on 13th May 2009 at 1200hrs (GMT+8). Get in those entries, if you have not done so. WhiteFang
  23. Yes, it's still there. Take a look upwards, where the jester is located.
  24. Awww, lovely castle sets. I am falling in love with the Troll Fortress, and I can't wait to get my hands on those. Too bad, Singapore will only receive these sets around August period. Talking about long wait. Seriously, I can't wait to see your reviews. By any chance, are you intending to work those inside the academy?
  25. Penguin, it has been a long while since you last built a medieval moc. On the building surface, it appears to be a typical wooden cottage, filled with slience and suspence, just by viewing the top 3 pictures that is featuring its front. I love wooden brown parts which is very good for building such houses. The interior is spacious with lots of treasure stored behind the counter. Don't you think security is lacking inside, a high profile bank? I really wonder how could the Elven Banker able to fend himself from those bandits. Nice moc, and thanks for sharing!
