A little while back, in my Meltdown topic, I mentioned building the villain Xplode with the new 2.0+ system. I also mentioned updating the pics in my two previous topics, but one thing at a time. So, without further wait, here he is! Front: Side: Back: Pose: With Meltdown: Victorious!: My original idea was to have him get upgraded after his breakout from the HF facility.. why he had his spikes in the Breakout videos, I can't imagine. I do hope you enjoy, and as usual, feedback is well appreciated. :) Cirkit PS: Sorry about the size of the images. I am aware that they are a bit large. If anyone could help me, or direct me to a page where I could learn about resizing images, that would be great. Thanks.

The concept of the 2.0 hero with no special features, just mods as per mission, is excellent. It's near-exactly as I my expectations of the HF waves were, before the 3.0 etc, although the armor stylings are far more interesting to look at. I liked the HF emblem on Nex's shoulders, nice touch, and the green on the character works out so much better than that screaming white. :D I'd like to see more Heroes drawn in your style, and maybe even more villains as well- I can't get over how awesome Splitface looked. :)

Okay, now I'm totally on board with blue Stringer. Looks awesome. And I kind of like how the top of his helmet looks like a gelled-up hairdo. Reminds me of Elvis.

From what I see so far, the new wave looks good. Or at least, two out of the four that haven't already been seen look good. I have mixed feelings about Nex's helmet. Personally, I would have liked to see the part between the mouth-guard looking part and the bottom of the eyes to be open, just like on the original 2.0 set. I'm glad they kept the other details on the helmet, but with that much orange right there it looks weird.. to me anyway. I hope the eyes will remain green. The white torso is okay, I'm glad there's some orange on there as well, but to me it stands out too much. The weapon isn't anything special, shame, but oh well. As I view Bulk I realize how much silver has been taken away from his scheme. If there was a tad bit more I'd be more pleased, but I am actually starting to like the scheme. The dark metallic grey and orange work well together, and the little splash of silver on the head and shoulders makes him 'pop'. I do like that his gun-toting arm remains the same, just like the old Bulk I loved, and I do like how his lower leg armor look like boots. That's cool. From what I can see of the villains, I say this- XT4... no, just no. Arms to spindly, he's posed awkwardly (or she is, I haven't a clue what the bot's gender is), and.. no, just no. I think if I were to get this one, it would be for the parts. As for Core Hunter, I'm pleased. No launcher that I can see, black 2.0 shields, red 3.0 claws, and a solid black and red color scheme. From what I can make out of the helmet, the opening for the mouth appears to be the same shape as BP's.. but I hope that's not the case. We don't need any more recolors of that helmet for this wave, thankyouverymuch! In short, my favs are Bulk and Core Hunter. Nex is right behind them, and XT4.. no. I can't wait for bigger images of the lot, as well as Speeda Demon and Stormer XL. =) -Cirkit

This pretty much sums up my thoughts. You took something that was already pretty cool and made it badass. Everything works together so well, I have no complaints whatsoever. I do like that you slipped in the goggles on the legs, a possible reference to Furno 2.0? Just... man. Wow. Cirkit

Okay, Crazy. Nah, but seriously, that sounds like a really good idea! How would you picture the Techno-Heroes (heh) exactly?

I've been looking for this thread! I've had two constant ideas about future themes that have been circling about my head for some time, the first being a Gladiator-like theme, like with the Glatorian but with guns. Introduce a new Hero, or perhaps a full group of new Heroes led by an old Alpha Teammate, like Rocka, Furno, or Breez. Include lots of gold parts, lots of blue parts(pleeease?), and make a 3 headed, titan-style creation to fight. With guns. And a trident. The other idea was to do something more.. dark. Not like the Piraka or the Creeps of the Deep, but similar. Have a gang of villains clad in mostly dark armor, with some sort of glowy parts(like those tiny eye pieces), and lots of tiny spike-stud things. Maybe make them like a biker gang but without bikes. OR, better yet, give one of them wheels to zip around on. And, I'd just really like to see a villain helmet with a mohawk and nose 'studs'. :P I have more ideas floating around, just got to think about them some more. So.. yeah, cool. Cirkit

M I C, K E Y, M O U S E!!! Nice! I do like the update. He's thinner but still round in the head, body, and ears, and he's got those near pencil thin arms.. exactly like the Mickey I remember. I am very impressed with how you did his gloves and head, very very impressed. Ah, good ol' Mick.

Perhaps Bruce was wearing Khaki shorts at the time of his transformation? I agree with this. Ultrabuild Hulk could have been given purple 'pants', seeing as the Joker had the right parts released to do so, and I see no reason why the minifigure shouldn't have purple pants. I wonder what was up with that? On a related note, I'd really like to know where Banner finds his shorts. I'd like to own a purple pair like that.. just not all ripped up and stuff.

Woah! I've been expecting someone to do this for some time.. now it's here. Tahu looks good overall, I do like the use of the claw-cladding as the chestpiece, very nice. Well armored all over, just like the original Tahu(s). The lack of orange bugs me a bit, as it was one of the Toa of Fire's main colors, and the orange helped make him who he was in my mind, a fiery, hotheaded protector. There's another issue I'd like to discuss. While the head looks great, at a proper height and not all squashed against the torso armor, any view but the front looks awkward. I do admire that you went for something original, but it needs a little fine-tuning. System bricks should help with this. How, I wouldn't know. The Gold Armor and shoulderpads in the last picture look good.. looks more leader-like for some reason, at least to me anyway. I do like this representation of Tahu.. again, it just needs a little work. -Cirkit

Looks like some bulky armor.. nice. Make the villains quake in fear, the new bodytype of Hero is here! yaaay. Bulk needs moar silver. Everything else looks awesome.

Nice! I quite like the backstory to this villain, having power like that.. does he have a short-distance range with his power, and can he focus it on more than one bot or device at a time? Amperox looks as dangerous as he sounds. I like the use of the Nektann head and spine, works well for a villain. He looks well armored too, something I like in a villain. I particularly enjoy the dual-colored lightning pieces, they really give off that dark, electricy feeling. Something about his feet bug me.. but it can be overlooked. I mean, who's going to be looking at this guy's feet when he's coming at them anyway? I did see the pics before he was changed, what with the green eyes and green tubes.. and I have to say the blue and trans orange work so much better with this guy. I personally would like to see how trans blue works, but I imagine it would blend in too much with the exterior of the head. I think you did a very good job with this one, backstory, armor, and all. -Cirkit

Me-yowww.. I like it. It looks very much like a real wildcat, except maybe the guns. The proportions all look right, the tail looks like a real tail, like it's meant to be there; and I do like the green Hero-Core mounted up there.. that is how you know it's not just a random mechanical tiger, after all. I do wish there was more green, even if it meant taking away one of the lovely orange shells from the legs and replacing it with the 'Tiger-badge' seen in the official Nex set. If I had any complaint, it would be that this isn't available to purchase. It looks that good. Grrreat job! -Cirkit

Thanks, zero1312. I do appreciate the feedback. I do apologize if some of the detail is difficult to make out. I will be going back and retaking the pics of the front, side, and back. Related to the pictures- if a picture is too large, is it automatically resized? And would you know how I could resize the photos on my own? Thanks again for the feedback. Cirkit

I was building my 'revamp' of Xplode, and decided to finish up on this guy first. I don't really have a backstory for this guy, other than that he's got his hand cut off by a Hero whilst trying to steal plans for an experimental type of ground transport, and has teamed up with a dark figure intent on bringing down the Factory. So here are the pics. Front: Side: Back: Other side: Against Xplode: Against my Panda-Hero: A more dramatic shot: I am victorious: Pose: Make up a backstory or something. Any questions, comments, etc. are appreciated. Thanks. Cirkit.

I do like this changed-around Surge.. he's much easier on the eyes. However, I do feel that without the lime green or yellow (like he had on his 1.0 set), his appeal, at least in the way of the color scheme, is lacking. A splash of lime, perhaps to the core, is what it needs. Having gotten that out of the way, I do like the rest of the MOC. The 'villain' cores on the legs make for good looking armor here, and I do like the addition of his gun, like with his 2.0 incarnation. Nicely done, but again, he could use that lime. -Cirkit

Nice. Rocka looks like he's ready to, well, rock! :P He looks more like a rookie to me in build, and I think that's pretty great. I like that you put the ammo belt around his waist, really looks like it belongs there. The gun is pretty great too. Your villain XLR8r (I had to look at the name a few times to get it right) looks great too. I like that he is blue, you don't see too much of that with villains in Hero Factory, and I don't think we've had a proper blue villain since Von Nebula. I don't count Vapour because, well.. I just don't. The robotic arm looks great, I love the use of the system studs and the minifig hands as claws, very nice. I don't think XLR8r is one I'd want to be up against.. good thing we've got Rocka around to take him down. Very nicely done. :) Cirkit

I would have said parts of your Fuspeed look jumbled a few minutes ago, but I see now that every part serves a purpose. Every bone keeps something in place, or supports another part or function of the body. That I think is very cool. The backstory was pretty great too. It's a four legged, 'living' machine that could change the face of Hero Factory as we know it.. Really great. Cirkit

Heh, that ant picture was pretty funny.. Color scheme's kept the same, and the face (there really isn't any changing that), but everything else.. Your MOC does look very flexible. It's well armored, and flexible. Nice. I quite like the pieces on the front that connect to the back of the legs as well, sort of like the FireLord leg build, very nice. Those feet too.. That claw-shredder/gun is pretty hard to miss. I think it would be pretty hard to miss with that kind of weapon.. man. The Rattlecopter blade I like too.. I just might have to pick that set up. This is a fantastic MOC, Front. I think you've inspired me to have a go at building something like it. Cirkit

If lego made MR.Makuhero or Zib would you buy it
Cirkit replied to optimus99's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Makuhero, Zib, and maybe Quadal? Sure I'd pick 'em up. I could see Zib and Quadal being released as a 'Special Edition' set, only available at Toys'R'Us or something like that. Quadal(or at least something representing him) could easily be constructed with existing Lego bricks, and perhaps some new decals. Zib is the one I see a little more difficulty with. I'd hope for a Glatorian head under a new helmet mold, and perhaps construct his body with the new 'wide' torso, with Drilldozer's upper torso piece in white, short limbs, and.. lots of things to think about with him. Best to price the pair at a maximum of 20 American dollars. Makuhero himself brings more things to think about. If he were released, and given weapons/tools, I'd believe he'd be great with katana, be a real 'old fashioned' sort of fighter instead of being a gun-toting type. I would like to see a Glat-head and helmet like the rest, give him the old-style Mata feet, slap on the leg and arm armor, but then.. there's the torso. How would that even be done. Would he come with a 'robe' with standard HF armor underneath, or would he get a totally new build..?? Too many things to think about with him, price included. I'd buy em' all though. My wallet wouldn't stand a chance against it. :D -Cirkit -
If you like, I can go back and change it. Thanks for the welcoming. It's much appreciated.

I'm trying to convince myself that The Hulk is wearing a dirty white or grey shirt on his shoulders.. so far, it isn't working. The CG images look great. I'm looking forward to a lot of the pieces, particularly the gold and red pieces in Iron Man. I'm not too thrilled for Cap, something just looks off about him to me. And, well.. we've got enough red in Iron Man. I would have expected someone like Thor to be released instead, with his movie coming out before Cap's, and be released with black and yellow parts to change it up a little, but oh well.. I'll be anticipating the arrival of the sets at my local Target.

I was going to do a joke about fire, or rather, 'infernos', but I decided against it. 'Pyro' looks good. May be just a recolor of Reapa, but it's a good recolor. The flipped helmet (nice by the way)is what gets me here. It either looks like he's about to laugh maniacally, or he has a giant mustache. Or, maybe he's the Eggman. All ways it looks good. That dial on the back was a nice addition as well. :)

Oh, I don't know about that. I've seen plenty of female characters (cartoons mostly) who don't have the hourglass-shaped figure, or even just wide hips, and they still give off a female 'feel'.. Seeing this, I do like how accurate the mask, armor, and blade match up with the original set. The 'skirt' sort of armor below the belt is rather neat as well. I like that there is far less white than on the official set, but some still lingers and makes the color scheme interesting. The blade being an arm-mounted weapon is a cool idea, although I would rather much see Breez holding two weapons like in her previous forms, all hand-to-hand combat like. I see you've put the Hero Shield on the back (or something similar), very nice.. The whole figure looks well armored. My only complaints aside where the weapon is(and I can get over that pretty quick) are the shoulders and knees. I feel the knees need some kind of padding, and the shoulders, hmm. I do like the look here, but I got used to the official set's shoulderpads and the Samus Aran look they gave. Even smaller versions would do the trick, but here they look kind of bare. The Hero Cuffs also look a bit long, but I imagine that they can adjust themselves to fit around the wrists of the villains they catch, so it's not a big problem there. Overall I think it's great. The idea, the picture, all just great. I think (if you are planning on doing more) I'd like to see more Heroes in this styling. Very well done. :) -Cirkit

Thanks Zork64. Xplode is indeed in progress, I've finished up most everything but the torso. I'm having difficulty deciding on a torso-armor piece.. I think I may have to get creative with this one. Pictures should be up within the next week. -Cirkit :) EDIT: I've completed Xplode, pictures should be up by tomorrow. SECOND EDIT: Sorry for the delay, I've been trying to keep myself preoccupied with things lately, and that damn tentacle.. No matter, I'll upload the Xplode pics and update the Baddie pics sometime next week. Again, very sorry for the delay. :/
