  1. Just ordered this set on Bricklink-really excited to build it. For some reason I thought it came with 4 goats, but I was wrong. Probably going to combine this with Blacksmith attack. Also, I noticed that on Bricklink some people have broken the set down into either the windmill or the barn. I might grab an extra windmill or two so I can flesh out the windmill that comes in the box, as it is a bit small. Shoot, I may just start construction of a whole rural medieval village! :D
  2. Ha, I totally know what it is like to have a lack of pieces! Still, you did a really good job with what you have; I love it!
  3. Collecting old castle...

  4. Just curios, has anyone ever had any luck with these? I have done 20 so far with no luck. About how many sets do they give away per month/year? Cheers! -Brik
  5. That was a sweet watch! I love that Dragons army, wish I had that many classic Lego dragons on hand, those things are the bomb. -Brik
  6. Wow...This MoC will be perfect for Lego wargaming, when it is finished! I really, really love this project! Also, how many pieces are in this MoC?
  7. Oookay. Does anyone know why Lego is inflating the prices on the Kingdoms sets so much? I thought it was around $10 per 100 pieces, and yet, for reasons unknown, Lego is adding an extra $10 to two of the largest sets (carriage set is 300 pieces, costs $40, mill village is 600 pieces, costs $70.) I wonder if Lego is losing money, or maybe the licenses with Disney are really costing them...
  8. O_O... Wow. That is a masterpiece! How many pieces did you use? Around 30,000? This is EXACTLY the kinda castle I would like to build. Really awesome, the brickbuilt cliffs are beautiful! Could you get shots of the interior of the castle? I am off to spend some massive money on Bley bricks on Bricklink... :D
  9. Huh. Do you have pictures of your Castle armies? They sound really cool.
  10. Bear with me here... So, after getting my box'o figures out last night to get it sorted out, I did some serious looking at my Crownies. I was struck by how, well, boring they look. Bley and dark blues is just so...drab. I then compared them to my new Lion Knights. Red and Bley is kinda dull, but better than the Crownies. I then compared both of these factions to my (old) Dragon Knights and my Orcs. The old Dragon knights have the most exciting pallet of them all. Reds, blues and yellow, with black accents? Yes, please! So, what Castle faction is the most boring for you guys?
  11. How many orcs do you own? Anyways, love this fortress! The dungeon is a great touch, as are the various bones sticking out of the side.
  12. Gah, I am really jealous of those of you that have a Lego store nearby...I have a love/hate relationship with BL because it is such an ordeal just to find a seller that has all the stuff I am looking for. Plus, that cup thing is awesome! 1000+ pieces for $20?! Jealous. Totally agree on the set thing, I only really buy sets now if they have a good amount of pieces/if they have neat minfigs. Also, I always figured 1x2 Bley pieces would be what I really need for castles, not 2x4? Am I missing something here? MMV sounds like the way to go, however, Lego will only except Credit cards, as we are trying to cut Credit Card expenses, a $100 set will kill our effort to get rid of our credit cards. Really bummed about that, and I don not see why Lego will only accept credit cards, and not PayPal. Do any store in the USA, besides Lego, sell MMV, such as Target or Toys'R'Us?
  13. Cannot think of what to call this. It doesn't fit into any theme, probably because I was still working on it at 1:00 in the morning, and I started at 9:30 in the evening. I was planning on making a police prison van, but ended up scrapping they project when I got the idea for this I am pretty happy with it, as it is my first (nearly) monotone Lego creation. I added the propellers as an afterthought, and I am really glad I did. The bit with the drill really has no purpose, but I like it nonetheless! Hope you like! Dwarf
  14. I am mostly interested in Castle/steampunk themed MOCS. I have always really wanted to be able to build really nice brick built terrain and medieval/victorian style cottages, for the Lego wargames I play. So yeah, I had better get building.
  15. Thanks for the ideas! I love the multiples of sets idea, it makes a lot of sense. Sadly, buying multiples of Kings Castle Siege is right out, as it is around $200-$300 USD wherever I look online. Blah. Another problem I seem to have is ending up with lots of <insert that tiresome argument> pieces, such as those castle wall bits with the windows, and lots of ugly gray BURPs. How is Bricklink for bulk orders of parts? I know it is great for minifigs, but it seems as though a lot of stores overcharge for even basic bricks. Better keep looking and collecting! Dwarf
  16. WOW. Do you play Brikwars/any other Lego war games? Only, it would so much fun having all of those guys fighting away, with vehicles and everything! How many are there, and do you own enough weapons and such to equip them? My collection is nothing compared to yours, I only have about 50-60 figures. Dwarf
  17. Lately, every time I have been sitting down to build something out of my Lego collection, I have been finding that I am very limited by my collection. I cannot seem to put my finger on what the problem with my collection is, there is just something about it. I probably have about 2,000 to 4,000 pieces on hand, from the sets in the below list: Kings Castle Siege Skeleton Prison Carriage Atlantis Monster Crab Clash (x2) Atlantis Wreck Raider Dwarves' Mine Dwarves' Mine Defender Dark Dragons Den Majistos Magical Workshop Squidman Escape Freeze Ray Frenzy Hpyerspeed Pursuit MX-71 Recon Dropship (and I forgot one or two other smaller sets...) Sooo, with these sets in mind, where should I go from here? I am pretty interested in almost all of the Lego themes, except for the incenses', but it seems like all the new Space sets really seem to have large amounts of <insert that tiresome argument> pieces. Hope you guys have some ideas, Dwarf
  18. LOVE IT! Danish air is good stuff, don't get me wrong, but I really like boxes to be compact and small, so they feel nice and solid in hand, which will make buying sets more appealing.
  19. What the heck? There appears to be a Megabloks axe in the new Black Smith attack photos!? Dwarf
  20. You girlfriend may not like to know you have been flirting with someone else... ;) Cannot wait to see photos. I am really starting to like the look of these sets... Dwarf
  21. I may just remount the gatehouse on a smaller baseplate. The idea with the unused part is that archers could shoot arrows out of the wall, like in a real medieval castle, so I will need ladders going down into thse parts.
  22. Okay, here are the pictures. Front: Back: I now have run out of enough pieces to build the next level, so time for a Bricklink run. However, I am thinking of making the floor on the 2nd level coverd with smooth brown plates, and adding a winch system to the 3rd floor, so I can lift up the poortcullis. Thoughts?
  23. Thanks guys. I have gotten started building a 3 level gate house, based off a cross section. I have only semi completed the first level, and have already run out of corner peices, so it looks like it time to make a bricklink run. Thanks for the help guys! PS. Mods, may I use this thread for posting pictures of my keep as I work on it, so I can get tips along the way?
  24. Most castle fans on here have at least $100 worth of figs. I am really impressed! I am working on building 2 castle armys, Crownies and Trorcs. Crownie army will have 2 mounted soldiers, 2 marksmen, 1 Knight with a large warhammer, and 10 regular impulse set footroops. My Trorc army will have 2 berserkers, 8 regular, 2 mounted, 4 pikemen, and a Dragon riding warlord.
  25. Hey all, I am having a very frustrating time when it comes to castle building: they all invietably turn into BURP fests, or end up being very bland and sqaure. What are the best ways to avoid BURP-olioe, and what are some good ways of making castles 'pop'? Thanks, Dwarf-brik
