  1. Yes! Now that I know what they look like, I am probably going to be buying a TON of Uruks, as those blades and shields are going to be perfect for outfitting my Troll warrior heavy warriors. Actually, the whole LOTR line will really be great for adding some variety to my castle collection. I am stoked.
  2. Yeah, sorry about that cock up! I saw that you were willing to do decal commissions after I posted my request here for Orc decals. @Bricksandparts: You can go ahead and make the decals, but don't feel like you have to. I can maybe make my own (though they will be pretty shoddy).
  3. Very nice! Too bad they don't make some of those pieces available in those colors.
  4. I was thinking something along the lines of the models below, but with more prominent tattoos in red and blue, as well as sand green skin. I am looking for torsos and legs in this style, maybe even faces if you wanted to go too the trouble! If you could make sure that the decals are as anti-aliased (smooth) as possible. Thanks!
  5. The Black Keys~Everlasting Light Man, these guys can groove.
  6. I really like the tree demon, the use of the crab warrior head is inspired. Out of curiosity, what kind of fabric did you use on the head of the druid?
  7. Does anyone have some nice custom decals for the orcs/troll warriors? I am specifically looking tribal looking type-you know, lots of tattoos. I tried to search this thread, but I had no luck, so forgive me if this has already been asked! Thanks in advance!
  8. Urgh. Those prices are horrendous. Guess my plans for an Uruk army are out of the question now . Actually, looks like I will not be able to afford ANY of these sets, except for maybe the smallest set. Shoot.
  9. Does anyone on here know what kind of fabric Lego uses for making capes/other cloth accessories? I have wanting to make some of my own custom robes and such for a project I am working on, but I cannot seem to find the right kind of fabric. Really wanting to use the stuff Lego uses as well, just so the project looks more "official". Thanks!
  10. I REALLY want those minotaurs...I may have to resort to feeling up packages to find them. Too bad series 5 is over already, I only managed to get my hands on 1 evil dwarf.
  11. Dwarf-brik and the Barony of the Holy Lion reporting! (This space reserved for pictures/background. I will get to those this evening.)
  12. You know what, I will go in the Western Grasslands. That should work out well for my chosen style, which is conventional castles/villages.
  13. Very nice! The use of green really adds a lot of visual interest to the model. Plus, that is a really nice army! Also, I cannot believe that the Great Wall was NOT built in order to keep the Mongols out, that was what I was taught in 6th grade. I feel betrayed. ;)
  14. Hmm, I will wait to see some more detailed info before I choose my area.
  15. Excellent, I have been needing some sort of target range/more archers! How much are these? I may just pick up 2...or 3...or 4. :D
  16. Thanks! Could you possibly get me the Shaman decal as well?
  17. That is a masterpiece! I love that map. Thanks for doing this.
  18. I would love to use those! Only problem I can see is the "made by scorpiox" sign right in the middle of the decal-it just looks way to out of place. How would I get rid of that?
  19. That Mola Ram headdress really looks nice for a shaman. They sure go for a ton on Bricklink, though. I will definitely get my hands on some more of those long bones as well. We should make this into an ongoing project! I will try and post pictures of my progress as I renovate these guys.
  20. Hey all! I was looking through my Castle figure collection, and I noticed something: I own twenty Fantasy Era trolls(orcs?), and they all seem really boring. Maybe it is the lack of torsos, as Lego never made more than two variations on troll torsos. So, I got out my collections of weapons, shields, and armor, and got building. I came up with a really good design for a raider style orc: a skeleton round shield from Fantasy Era, a bronze dwarven helmet without wings, and an axe, made with a clip on bronze axe head and reddish brown lightsaber blade. But what I cannot seem to do is build a suitable looking orc heavy trooper...I tried a combo of that black breastplate with shoulder protection (I think it came in those sets with Ogel), and a winged bat helmet from the Fright Knights line. It just didn't work that well. And I cannot seem to dream up a good design for a shaman to lead them. Urgh. I guess I just need some inspiration here, or some ideas! Some help would be great, as I am trying to whip my factions into shape in preparation for the upcoming community build.
  21. Very good idea, Sirens-of-Titam! Flags would really work better than shields, I think. Getting really excited for this project!
  22. So, any ideas as to (too?) how we go about deciding who goes in what guild? I am, personally, not to hot on the idea of random assignment that is being thrown around...I have a bunch of Lion Knights and Troll Warriors, but if I got assigned to, say, the Arcane Guild, I would be outta luck, as I only have 5 Dwarves and no elves. Also, I like the idea of the first build for each faction being a watchtower. Just 'sayin.
  23. Loving the tutorial. Really giving me some inspiration to start building. Though I gotta ask, how many pieces went into that house you just built? Over 1,000?
  24. That's funny, I was looking at Black Knights Castle just today! It really is a masterpiece-I just wish Lego hadn't abandoned the concept of raised baseplates. The new castles are all well and good, you really cannot beat the old castles: they just had so much more playability and possibility. I would be hard-pressed to build more than two alternate builds out of, say, Kings Castle Siege. Once again, thanks for that great summary!
