  1. Well, the model lookslegit, but we only have one angle. The printing, apart from the hand, also looks like official TLG work. Durins Bane, could we see some more angles of this guy?
  2. @Durins Bane: Where, exactly, did you find this Uruk-Hai minifig? I am betting that it is a custom you mistook for the real thing.
  3. @turtleman2020: Brikwars is a set of rules for wargaming with Lego models. Just go on over to http://www.brikwars.com/rules/2005/cover.htm to get the rules. the Brikwars website has forums, but while these forums are quite active, I would not recommend them to anyone. Unless you have a high tolerance for kids who insist on using the vilest language while talking about Legos, avoid the forums. There are some really cool armies there, so I occasionally browse, but I don't post there. Actually, I think the degeneration of the fanbase is one of the reasons no one on here talks about the game. I personally LOVE Brikwars, and always have a really great time whenever I break out the minifigs. ~Dwarf P.S. Maybe we should start a Eurobricks Brikwars league...
  4. Classic Castle all the way! While I look forward to a couple of waves of LOTR, I really miss Fantasy Era and Kingdoms. ~Dwarf
  5. My opinion on this matter mostly stems from the fact that I am cheap-if I was a millionaire, I would still have a hard time parting with my cash. For me, I guess, it boils down to this: two Uruk-Hai army sets would cost me $60. For that, I get 4 Rohirrim, Eomer, some bley bricks, and 8 Uruk-Hai. Now, if Lego did $10 SW style battlepacks, and if they did a Rohirrim one and an Uruk-Hai one, I could get 12 Rohirrim and 12 Uruk-Hai, as well as whatever small amount of bricks Lego would include with the sets. For me, I guess, the choice is obvious-I would go with the latter over the former any day. I can definitely see where you are coming from with your argument, though! ~Dwarf
  6. Eh, you are entitled to your opinion, but I disagree with you. I have a really hard time seeing people being willing to buy more than one of the Uruk Hai army set because of the fact that you only get 6 minifigs, one of which is a hero, and a horse for $30. I CAN see people being willing to shell out $30 for 3 battlepacks, as that mony would get them double the number of minifigs, and maybe some bricks as well. I for one will be buying only ONE Uruk Hai army, as I have no use for multiple Eomers, and if TLG does do BP's, then I can see myself buying at least 3 for each faction...if not more. But, I am wishlisting again, so I really had better stop before I get mod-hammered. ~Dwarf
  7. This is Lego-which is to say, money will always be an issue. Still, they shouldn't be more than $10-$15. ~Dwarf
  8. I actually hope that they are more along the lines of the older Star Wars ones which were $10 and not exclusive to Lego shop@home and Lego stores. But heck, I will honestly be happy with any army pack that doesn't contain characters models and is less than $20. I could totally see myself buying tons of Battlepacks if they are like what I wish listed above.
  9. So I post a question about battlepacks for LOTR on the official Lego Facebook page, and to my surprise I got an answer! Their answer to the question is tantalizingly open to interpretation, however... What do you guys think? ~Dwarf
  10. Maybe some battlepacks as well... ~Dwarf
  11. Yeah, I just balk at paying $30 for a set, just so I can get my hands on 4 Uruks. Especially as I don't need the ballista that comes with the set...The wall is nice though. Still, at $30 for each set, it will get pricey quick, as I usually have about 25 figures per army, and I would need to buy 6 of that set to get that many figures. Those 6 sets would cost me $180 total, which would mean that I would be sucking my bank account dry as a bone. I may just have to forget about making an Uruk army, come to think of it. ~Dwarf
  12. So, somewhere in the range of $3 to $4 each for the Uruks, do you think?
  13. I really hope we get an Uruk-Hai battle pack-otherwise, it will be almost impossible for those of us who don't have access to massive amounts of expendable income to build an Uruk army of more than 5-10 models ~Dwarf
  14. Man, I wonder how much a single Uruk-Hai will go for on Bricklink? Somewhere in the $5 mark? It is going to be a bugger to collect an Uruk army, what with all the cash that will be required.
  15. Yeah, anything Bley goes for tons on BL-sadly, that is my only place to buy them, as the closest PAB is about a 10 hour drive away. Geeze, even the local wal-mart sucks-they carried NO Kingdoms last year, and they only stock 3 of the new Ninjago sets-the 3 most expensive ones... Thanks for all the input, guys! You are making my wallet quiver in fear. dwarf
  16. Keep the tips coming! They are really helping. Also, as an aside, I went shopping on BL for Light Bley 1x2 bricks, and WOW are they pricey! $0.10 per piece, at the cheapest. This may seem like an overreaction, but I found Reddish Brown 1x2s for $0.05 each. I guess it is down to the old supply and demand conundrum.
  17. So, I am expecting a bit of a windfall in cash soon, and I have decided to allocate some of it to spend on parts for castle MOCs. The only problem is, I cannot seem to settle on the pieces I should pick up on BL-I know I need a LOT more light bley 1x2 bricks, as well as 1x1s, 1x3's, etc. etc. But, what else should I purchase? Sloped bricks for roofs, cheese slopes, flags? Looking forward to some ideas! dwarf-brik
  18. So YOU are the guy who has been buying up all of the Forestmen and farm animals on BL-I have been trying to get some of those for ages and no one has them in stock! My recent purchases have been small-8 Crossbowmen for my Dragon Knights force, 8 Musketeers for my Lion Knights, and 5 more swordsmen for my Dragon knights. Plus, I finally got my hands on those Troll warrior breastplates, so now I can build up a good heavy Orc warrior squad.
  19. Good lord, THAT is a pirate ship!
  20. Just be careful on Bricklink - it's a great site, but it's really easy to spend HOURS on there trying to find seller that stocks all the pieces you need. It's also really easy to spend huge amounts of money that way.
  21. Still, it is nowhere near as bad as that Time Chasers theme that came out in the 90's! That theme was the epitome of bizarre. Monster Fighters is a strange theme, but it has potential for greatness is handled well-I for one will try to pick up a couple of sets, if only for the monster figures/pieces. I really want to get a couple of those excellent swamp creatures!
  22. So, as Mafia and Role-playing games have gained a ton of popularity, there is now nowhere to discuss Lego wargaming/other Lego gaming. This is a little frustrating for me, as on of the main reasons I buy Lego is to play wargames with the minifigures and pieces, and I am sure others on here play Lego wargames as well. And yet Eurobricks doesn't have a place to discuss Lego wargaming. So, would a new subforum (for the discussion of Lego wargaming) in the "Special Interests" forum be appropriate? Thanks for reading, Dwarf
  23. Those stairs are spot-on! The only thing that could have been done better on the would be to use some red cheese slopes on the railings for added color, but otherwise they arr perfect! I am totally going to utilize that stair technique next time I build a MoC (and yes, I will give you all credit for the stairs).
  24. ...But the button that normally says "Post New Topic" instead reads "You cannot start a new topic". Any idea why this is? Do I have to get special permission to trade on that forum? I am asking because I have a lot of Castle armor and weapons I need to unload, and I really want to get rid of them in exchange for some more Dragon Knights. Thanks! Dwarf
  25. The only downside of this project is the price! Are you going to be able to actually order this, or are you just going to be content with having a virtual model? Either way, I am duly impressed! It looks perfect.
