As we are only getting four sets from the film An Unexpected Journey due to the late split from a duology to a trilogy, does anyone think it's possible Lego will release more sets from this film? It is based upon Chapters 1-6 of the book, the two chapters omitted from the sets have the three trolls and Rivendell. But there are other parts missing, such as the Stone Giant sequence and parts not in the book, such as Rhosgobel and Dol Guldur seen in the trailers I would love to see more sets released from this film, If only because I would love to see the three trolls in Lego form :) Also, I was quite disliking the fact there were no army builders at first, but it does make sense really. As with LOTR we were given the fellowship, we had to be given Thorin and co. in The Hobbit. That's five more characters (six if you include Gandalf) to introduce. In addition, there are only really wargs and goblins as army's in AUJ, and we get a similar amount of them as we do with the Moria orcs in LOTR, and we only got a couple of these. As goblins and wargs are enemies throughout the trilogy, I'm sure there will be many occasions to pick them up :)

Nice printing on the Snowspeeder pilot and B-wing pilot. The Snowspeeder pilot has Dak's helmet though, right? Probably skip it.
-
Rancor Pit and A-wing are two I will pick up if I can afford them. I'm not a fan of Planet sets, but I like the look of R4 from this wave. Is that a new jacket on Han?

Isn't that the pack that has Smeagol, Imrahil and Beregond? It had two others, I think Gaffer and Halbarad?

Are you a member of theonering.net? You often seem to be the source of new information and seem pretty well informed. I always seem to see it after you've posted ahah. Sorry for going off topic :D Back on topic, there is potential for quite a few animals/monsters from this trailer alone. Trolls, Stone Giants, Hedgehogs, Hares, Wargs and possibly even the Great Goblin!

Lovely box art! Stange that Bombur and Balin seem to be without weapons though (considering Bombur is shown to have a meat cleaver and ladel as weapons, and both already have molds)
-
The Gondorian soldiers look ace! Similar to how the Rohan helmet has been used in three different designs, it's possible that we could see these used on normal soldiers as well as Citadel guards, as their helmets are only slightly more intricate. I was suprised how the Rohan helmets looked so different from the standard design. I think a standard Elf helmet could work for both Last Alliance Elves and the Galadhrim.

Beard length does not worry me at all, and it looks good for Saruman, even if it is too long for Gandalf. Legolas and Haldir smile in the trailer too, I'm sure her minifigure would follow suit.

Brown or Dark Green cloaks work fine for him. I think every set this wave has been at least 6/10, and all the minifigures are immense. Regarding his printing, at Helms Deep Aragorn didn't have the Dark Brown coat on. Remove the coat print from his legs and make his torso Dark Bluish Grey with jerkin pattern and Light Bluish Grey arms and I think that'd be better. Really no complains though.

Not really. Could have Isildur, Last Alliance man, and two Last Alliance Elves against Sauron. It still work pretty well I think. Agree about the sword though. Hopefully we'll get it in different colours in the future. If I could pick an exclusive figure, it'd be a version of a character harder to put in a set, e.g. Coronation Aragorn, Rider Arwen, Lorien Haldir, Smeagol or Helm's Deep Aragorn/Legolas.

30111 - The Lab, I believe.

Brilliant MOC! Aside from the White Tree, you've done well to get this into Lego scale. It feels like there are seven levels. And the rock face is great. My one criticism is also praise tbh :D The beacon is placed on a peak away from the city, but I think the place you put it works really well, and adds a play feature to a barren area, albeit well designed :) Could you tell me where the Witch King's helmet is from?

Orthanc has already been developed by Lego (at least in part) so that might see the light of day sometime. Saruman is also in White Council scenes in The Hobbit, so we could see him pop up there. But I agree that he would be more likely than Gandalf the White. I hope that if these figures do get released that they have different beard molds. The main differences between the two are beard length, eyebrow colour and staff. I'd like Gandalf the White to have a beard similar to Brickforge's Sage Beard. I think it's unlikely that we would get a second Hobbit wave, more likely we get another LOTR wave, with The Hobbit sets coming out in time for film two. It's possible that we could have Minas Tirith as the largest set, with an Osgiliath set acting as a Uruk-Hai Attack sort of set, if they want to continue in the same way. I hope if the Barrel set was to be an exclusive they would not have exclusive dwarves to the set. One of the best things about the first LOTR wave is that every member of the fellowship was present. I hope that in the first Hobbit wave we get the other seven dwarves to go with Bilbo, Gandalf, Thorin, Balin, Dwalin, Bofur, Bombur and Nori

Or from a Grey Havens set (not incredibly likely I know). It could have an old Bilbo/VERY old Bilbo reversible head. I like the idea of including him in an elven set too :)

It's unlikely Gil-Galad would get made because: He's almost identical to Elrond. Brown hair, no helmet. At least Elendil and Isildur had different helmets and beard colours. His main distinguishing feature is his unique spear. Lego won't make a spear just for him, so he's hardly any different from any other Elf. In the movies he is seen stabbing an orc for a second or two and that's it. H isn't named on screen. You don't see him get killed, as you do with Elendil, so there is no lasting memory of him unless you know who he is beforehand. However, plenty of Star Wars characters have made it to minifigure form which took me by suprise. By my count there are about sixty LOTR characters (not including those exclusive to The Hobbit) who appear in the movies. Gil-Galad probably makes the top fifty. Who knows. Hopefully a Last Alliance battlepack may happen and those elves can be modded into Gil-Galad (and Cirdan).

I'm hoping that Bag End will have 'casual' Bilbo, whilst Mystery of the Ring and Fleeing the Mirkwood Spiders have 'adventure' Bilbo, I wouldn't mind that so much. He'd probabaly be in every set if there were not thirteen Dwarves and Gandalf to add in as well :) Assuming these are genuine, that is!

As soon as I saw this, I though "Lay of Luthien", you captured the feel of it perfectly!
-
This is phenomenal, well done! By the way, your castle most represents the one that appears in The Half-Blood Prince, with the Astronomy Tower and all :) Have you thought of adding the Drumstrang ship or the Beaubaton Carriage?
-
What about Wonder Woman? Possibly the most detailed legs ever. Although to be fair that is one character in a whole theme. We are talking four Hobbits, plus Aragorn.
-
Yup, he fights Thrain. As well as the thirteen dwarves of Thorin's Company, Thrain (Thorin's father) and Thror (Thorin's grandfather) have been confirmed to appear, as well as several other dwarves seen in the vlogs. This means we will probably see a fight scene between Thror and his dwarves against Azog and his goblins, told in flashback, to give more action to the first film. In regards to the wizards against the Necromancer, three of the five wizards are involved, being Saruman, Gandalf and Radagast, and are joined by the elves Galadriel and Elrond. It's also possible that Cirdan, Celeborn and other elves will appear in the films, but no cast announcements have been made yet.

This is a little bit of an aside, as it concerns The Hobbit sets. I shall put it in a spoiler box in case people don't want to know any more about the plot or the direction of the movie, but if you've seen the trailer and read the books most of the information isn't new anyway :) I hope some of this is useful information, even if it is just whetting the appetite for December :D

I would prefer this too, but Minas Tirith is basically one whole thing, whereas Helm's Deep has two or three main sections. Basically, if you split it over two or three sets, it would look incomplete. Helm's Deep looks fine without Uruk-Hai Attack, although it looks better with. Also, Minas Tirith is a city on seven levels, but only really the top and bottom levels play much part in the movies, so that leaves five levels of lovely looking houses with not much going on. If it were to become a set, I'd like to see the city as one set, with the Beacon as an add on set, as it is separate from the citadel. The funeral pyre room is also seperated by a bridge, but if that was used to flesh out the buildings in the remaining five levels of the citadel I wouldn't really mind.

If they brought in Elves, they would need to make another helmet and sword mold. As they already had the Uruk-Hai mold, it's rational that they would use that as much as they can. Hopefully they will bring us a battle pack or smaller set in future with some of the Galadhrim though. As has been done with Theoden, Eomer and the Rohan Soldier, they could use the same helmets for Last Alliance Elves and the Galadhrim. They are rather different helmets, but similar enough to use a more generic mould. For example: 2 Galadhrim with swords 2 Galadhrim with bows 1 Rohan soldier 1 Uruk-Hai In a set of similar size to Uruk-Hai Army. Elrond Isildur Elendil 2 Men of the Last Alliance 2 Elves of the Last Alliance Sauron 1 Orc In a set of similar size to Mines of Moria

It's a link to Brick Forge Recurve Bow :) I'd much rather have a new axe mold for Gimli than a bow for Legolas. Brick Forge already has supplied us with an amazing looking bow, but I haven't seen an axe yet that looks like Gilmi's.
