To be honest, I kind of expected that joke after posting this. Perhaps a LEGO in-reference mis-spelt?

Discuss.

Well, to end HF now would be much too abrupt, not to mention the theme isn't nearly as story reliant as other themes, thus being much more sustainable.

MOC: CAPTAIN WHITESTAR - Defender of The Univese!
MakutaDreadscythe replied to pocketmego's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Well, I like the aesthetic theme you're going for, and I think the Piraka Torso goes well with the Bulk armour. The arms and legs however seem like they were taken straight off of Matoro Inika and the blues don't match up. His back's also looking a little sparse. -
Kinda hard for me to say. My self MOC uses a kanohi Shelek (Chirox' mask) but has really bulky legs with thin mid-section and upper arms. I may post him later so you can decide for yourself.

Well, it started off okay with the whole island setting, 6 heroes, one evil dude who uses Aizen-hax planning, simple. Then the flash-back stuff came and I kinda lost track due to both a lack of internet and comic books. 2006 was pretty decent, so was 2007-08, but that's after 7 years of commitment. Even I couldn't keep up with all the side stories and extra plot, I mean, I didn't even know Velika...oh wait. Spoilers. So yeah, I can kinda understand the switchover to Hero Factory's simplicity for sake of accessibility. Looking back, I wonder how those heroes would deal with a muaka. Ponder this while I brew some tea.

I'd have to agree in regards to Jet Rocka, besides the fact that the jetpack looks so ridiculously huge on him. That, and do we seriously need another Rocka? Over Stringer or Nex?
-
On a side note, considering we have translucent shell pieces, who's up for some glow in the dark pieces?
-
I envisioned something along the lines of Zero, Hakumen, Raiden, etc.
-
They probably meant accessory armour on the cladding on his shield arm.

Honestly I want more parts that have those clips on them. The extra detail is getting really nice on these figures and opens up lots of possibilities. That back clip for instance on the head. Hair anyone?
-
Ehlek anyone?

I dunno. Considering how early we got the Ultrabuilds last year (I'm making this link as they had most of the new moulds in their set design) and how willing LEGO was to show off all the Summer sets in the trailers and in the episode, I think there's a good chance.

Yeah, that thing, with glatorian and hordika necks on both sides.

Right, considering people were asking about the Frost Beast torso, I believe Frost Beast uses that technic piece that was used to attatch Kiina's arms (the one that kinda looks like a T except not really, I don't know it's name). I've tried assembling it at my house and it seems to work. Should have a picture later on.

Not to be too off topic considering this is LOC, but I believe Frost Beast uses that technic piece that was used to attatch Kiina's arms (the one that kinda looks like a T except not really, I don't know it's name). Frost Beast. Man, what a smile. The skifree yeti must be proud.

@Aanchir You have the persuasive ability of a god. I see what you mean about the whole prototypes thing, and Laval still has some good aspects I suppose. I just hope they put those fur pieces on Pick-a-Brick. I have a MOC that really needs hair. -

Well, in the stability aspect, just look at Makuta Icarax. His feet only touched the ground in two places and I consider him quite stable. I just liked the legs as it differentiated Laval from Rocka. Take away the head and you have a Rocka revamp almost. In terms of recolours, when you put it like that, yes, I would much prefer dark red shells over -insert colour here- feet. Like you say, it's not a bad colour or a hard one to use. For Cragger and Razar it works. It's just Eris. Everything is a mess on that character. Oh, and for the record, I would have preferred those large shape pieces in gold over a gold torso shell. I'm sorry if I sound abrasive in this comment, but Laval disappoints me just on the potential his preliminary photo teased. When was the last time a prototype looked better than the actual set? -

It's not that the sets look bad, well maybe except for Eris. It's more that the prototypes implied more interesting, complex builds with a slew of recolours which have been scrapped for sake of cost-cutting. Laval looks especially bland with his Rocka legs, and again, 3 sets have the same black claw feet. The ratio of characters with the same feet is worse than Breakout wave 2! I would have much preferred white, green, purple, anything but black. -
Honestly, the fact that the villain is a placeholder bugs me. Either have a shadowy character that we don't know about or if we have to see him, please don't make him a BP clone, we don't need a case of "Will the real Black Phantom please stand up?"
-
Honestly, though I hold Bionicle with high nostalgic esteem, I'd have to say Hero Factory is the better toy. They're sturdier and much more customizable out of the box...well...bag. The proportions are also much less awkward, not to mention the interesting character designs; most Bionicles were "Inika clones" with little variation between each wave, whilst Hero Factory (particularly with villains) isn't scared to try something different. Of course there are exceptions on both sides, for example Strakk from Bionicle and Bulk from Brain Attack, for being unique and boring respectively.

Honestly Frost Beast is an insta-buy for me, if anything because he reminds me of the yeti from Skifree. I don't know where that came from either.

Worriz and Razar look pretty sweet, what with the Metru Red and the Purple. -
Doubtful, Jet Rocka seems to be connected by some of those blue friction axle/pin pieces.
