There's some in this album: No pics in the firehouse, yet. It's still under construction. -

Just finished building the first floor. I'm in love with this set. I modded my Ecto-1 right after I first got it - shrunk it down to a more City scale 6 studs wide by 20 studs long. It fits in the garage without removing anything. And I only have to remove Janine's desk to give it room for the doors to open and close. I may consider removing Peter's desk and having Janine sit that far back permanently. -
Review: 75827 Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters
Hobbestimus replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'm willing to bet it transports just fine when it's all closed up. But the floors are modular. Worst case scenario you can just move it in parts to be safe. Thanks for the review, CorneliusMurdock! I can't wait for Friday. -

Yeah, in my area a couple of smaller businesses might be closed on New Year's Day, but most stuff will be open for business, including the mall with the LEGO store in it nearest me. -

Tonight I took down a LEGO display in my living room to prep for this bad boy. Can't wait. -

I'm not a fan of Really, nothing bad? Just for starters, you can't reach the fire pole or the kitchen behind the stairs. It suffers the same "can't open the doors when the Ecto-1 is inside" problem LEGO's has, but without the modular office furniture to account for it.I don't mean to sound like I'm attacking it - I think it's a superb MOC. But without some major modification to make it a more fun playset, and not just a big display piece, it's not a set I'd have bought. -

I'm torn because as a LEGO fan I get a lot of the concerns about what could be considered flaws, especially if your focus is trying to integrate it into a Modular display you've already invested a lot in. But, on the other hand, as a Ghostbusters fan, I think this might honestly be the greatest piece of officially licensed merchandise the franchise has ever gotten. No exaggeration. -

While we're on the subject of modifications, I'm not crazy about the included official Ghost Trap. But assuming that it's a sticker like the rest of the set, it's easy enough to make one like this from it: Purist Trap MOC by Hobbestimus, on Flickr -

Don't the Peter arms and hair from the firehouse + the torso and head from the Ecto-1 = the Dimensions figure?I don't think you need to get him unless you want the game levels. -

Man, this thing looks so awesome. I think LEGO did an incredible job. It'll be the first set over ~$100 that I've ever bought. I shrunk my Ecto-1 a while ago, to a 20x6 footprint so it looked better on road baseplates and scaled with some other stuff I had. Looks like I'll be able to park just fine as-is with furniture (although it'll block the doors from opening and closing, but I'm mostly cool with that). -
Yeah, it is. You can see more pics of it on my Flickr stream.
