  1. It is the first floor without the toys and I just added the new chairs, counter and pizza oven. So no changes to the building were made.
  2. Two minfigs, Cleopatra and the gladiator. (Took only three minutes of fondling to get them.)
  3. I love it, it inspired me to build my own albeit humble attempt. Thanks for the inspiration.
  4. One of my favourite shows as a child (along with the A-Team), they had re-runs last year and I did not realise how dated the show is compared to what we see on tv today. Great design, you hit it spot on.
  5. A great selection of cars, I love the hot rod. I am going to try make some of these for my city. Thanks for the inspiration.
  6. Inspired by others I decided to build a narrow town house for my city. I am quite happy with the way it turned out and it will probably remain for my city. Back view. I added the pulley as an afterthought otherwise how else will the minfigs be able to get their furniture up the narrow stairs. This led me to think about possible scenarios involving another construction built purely for this type of situation. So what happens next? Of course it being a Lego city nothing bad ever happens. Playing the piano in her apartment. How they got it through the window is a trade secret.
  7. I am overwhelmed by your construction, truly a work of art, if this was a set available in the shops it would be my first choice over official Lego sets. You have every reason to feel proud.
  8. Those are really cool mini-figs, I agree that there should be a Star Trek theme, at the moment I am considering buying one or two Star Wars sets but only because there are no Star Trek ones.(I need to get my sci-fi fix somewhere.)
  9. Very interesting, I love the whole steampunk idea and the way you create a sense of ordered chaos. The little airship type vehicles with the yellow top are really cute.
  10. Hi, I like the cross-pollination of Lego and transformers. I also grew up in the 80s and am impressed by the new Lego bricks which allow for a greater scope in building. (Ghostbusters really dates one.)
  11. Thanks for the positive feedback, I like your idea of a basement lightningtiger, I eventually want to raise my city to allow for subterranean activity, including a canal with a bridge over it which would be at street height. The possibilities are endless: sewers, underground train stations etc.
  12. I want to have the clothing and housewares on the bottom floor, a bookstore on the second and the food court on the third.
  13. I added a pizza restaurant to my Grand Emporium for all the hungry shoppers.
  14. Test picture post.
  15. Thanks for the words of encouragement, I think the biggest challenge is to create intricate constructions with the basic blocks.
  16. Hi, from South Africa, I have been lurking for the past month and have been amazed and at times intimidated by some of the creations I have seen. I recently got back into Lego after visiting the Lego store in Westfields in London (on holiday) and when I got home I unpacked my 80's Lego (just blocks, old windows, roof tiles and some classic space). Since then I have added two trains (city and emerald night) as well as some other sets. I now have a whole city planned in my head and with all the inspiration I have seen on the board it keeps getting more grandiose. Will post pics once I get the hang of it.
