I like the way you have incorporated some of the classic space sets. I would maybe place the blue plates vertically so they form a river and maybe some small bridges for the tracks to go over. I still have not figured the final layout for my town so keep rearranging.

Really love the dirigible, keep up the good work.

As a Dr Who fan I think you have got it down perfectly, now all you have to do it photograph it with the door open so you can see the interior.

I really am impressed by your construction. How about doing a Klingon Bird of Prey next. That is something I would like to see made out of Lego. And it does not have too many round surfaces.
-
Really nice construction, the monster is great and I love the way you created the road.

Thanks for your comments which have been helpful. Alas my museum is no more as I needed the parts for my city. I still though plan to have a museum in it I will just have the Egyptian artefacts and maybe less in it as it did seem a bit crowded. (Thats the only drawback to living in a Lego city as you can wake up to find your much loved museum is now part of a beach, church and other construction.)

Well executed.

Always nice to see how other people put their towns together.

Really great job, looks big, how many studs wide and long is it?
-
I like this, very clean lines.

I would buy that as a kit. Nice colour scheme. Did Santa come down the chimney?

Not sure what to think of this. It's the kind of thing I would want to build but I do not think I could bear to dismantle all my models to do this. I love the way it fits in with the other buildings.

I really enjoyed your review what with you both making the models displayed on the box and your own creations. The back to basics approach was a great inspiration as too often I think that we can only create great pieces with specialised parts. The dragon was well done and the fruit just inspirational. This review reminded me when I was a child and would use just basic blocks like these to build whatever came to mind. I like these basic brick sets as they form the bulk of my scenery for my city. Set 5512 is my favourite block set with 1600 pieces for R600 (about $75) here, it is the best option to bulking up my brick collection. I feel like going back to my childhood now and building a plane just using these bricks. (It had a wingspan of 40cm and the fuselage was about 12 studs wide though on landing the wings always fell of the fuselage, though using mostly 2x4 bricks what can you expect ).

I like the way you used the arch and pillars and the way you created the counter with the glass screen.

Thanks for the compliments. I have added some scenery. The office now has a fountain and grass area with tan border, flower pots and an obelisk. Picnics to be added later. The church has a tan wall in front with steps up to the entrance with grass and trees. I also built a war memorial, two different versions, later I decided to add a grass border. Last photo is one where I was playing with the lighting, an attempt at a night-time shot.

The train is a Lego set. I eventually want to add my own train based on the schwebebahn which is used in Wuppertal, Germany. Although that will be much later as I still need to get the parts and figure how to design it so it works.

I like the way that you created an invisible Frodo, really innovative.

Really nice ideas, I like the picnic scene, I will have to use that idea for some of my minifigs who will be having a picnic in the park.

Having finally bought some base plates (roads) my layout is now complete and I have started to arrange my buildings for my town. I also recently converted what was my station to a church. In the background you can see the train at the main station (soon to be built). Another view and you can see the church has a stained glass window (with no real pattern). The sides of the raised areas are going o be closed in with different types of walls and grass. Next to it is one of the older buildings in the city, plain and simple design (office building). Next to it will be the residential buildings. The residential area borders an open park area which has a train track going through it. A river and a beach next to what will become a pier. I plan to extend the hilly area at the back. A railway station for the residential area. (Stills needs some work.) I still have to add the buildings on the other side of town which includes a Grand Emporium and some other shops. The ground will also have detail added, grass around the church, walls, parking and other random scenery, . Comments and suggestions welcome.

I have been following your posts for a while and you have given me some good ideas that I will use for my Lego town. They really add some interesting aspects to otherwise what can look like a cloned town (mine that is). I particularly like the fuel pump, keep on posting more ideas that I can 'borrow'.

Well done on an architecturally beautiful building. The interior is well designed and you have given me a couple of ideas I will try to execute in my models.
-
You have really created a functional tower yet combined some really pleasing detailing in it, a real beauty. Its as if you took a medieval tower and copied it. Nice work. What can be seen of the interior has also been well executed.

Having built the Pharoah's Quest pyramid set I then turned to carting the pieces off to my museum for my city. The photos are of the museum with the set re-built to create a tomb feeling. The only bricks I had enough of to build the walls were red and not to my liking. I hope to get the Atlantis set to create a more fitting facade and replace the red with either white or tan. An overview of the whole building with the tomb on the left and half-track on the right. When coming into the museum you will see the half-track on the left in a desert setting. Before going into the tomb a few artefacts are displayed, the tomb entrance guarded by two warriors. Entrance and interior of the tomb. The mummy displayed behind glass. The whole museum is quite big at 46 studs wide so I plan to build a smaller museum without the halftrack being displayed inside but on stand outside the museum but I will retain the interior layout almost as it is.

You really did a great job, you really captured the waterfall and pool, my favourite part. Would love to see more photos from different angles and also wen you have added trees.

Excellent photographs, love the model, really intimidating.
