I'd go with Flying, just because Firey and Aquatic monsters have been somewhat less common, comparatively. Firey would be my second choice, as fire is simply more common than aquatic.

Beautiful set, GREAT review! I was lucky enough to pick a few of these sets up when I was little, and though they are now in storage somewhere ( ), I still remember them fondly. As to the usage of the coconut stem as a flowerpot, I remember the quite clever use of a clear minifig head as a flowerpot in Poolside Paradise, it's something that's stuck with me even today, I'll often grab a blue or red or whatever minifig head piece to make a nice flowerpot. Having seen this technique with the palm tree segments, however, I believe a change in style is in order.

Heroica RPG - Quest #31: Lions and Lambs

"I disagree, my pikemen moving north would have no effect, they cannot attack at range. Plus, by moving Isabella's Knights and pikemen to surround Lady Leofwena, we cut off her escape, meaning that even if she somehow gains the option to move, she can't escape." -
Erm, who are you? Are you even supposed to be in the Temple?? Erm--all right. I was unaware that you are of Kiffar ancestry, I believed you to be Miralian as Master Unduli is. However, if it helps you to achieve your calm center in the Force, then you may do as you wish.

That's like number two on my theoretical list, next to "good roleplayer". EDIT: wait, I took it to mean you like complexity, like I do.

"If Isaballa's Knights attack and then move north and her pikemen units follow the Knights, and Skrall's Pikemen attack, she won't be able to move, and I can move my last unit of pikemen into position to keep her totally surrounded. Imperial Pikemen, move Southwest! Crossbowmen, Northwest! Next round we attack!" -
If it happens later, we know to blame Anakin and Shaak Ti for their fight in the Heroica Arena little sparring session over there.

Ah, our thanks, Master Yoda. I am sure that you and Commander Gree's collaboration will serve you both well, as it has indeed served us all.
-
I walk over to Commander Glee Gree and wave my hand in front of his face. "You want to give us more information."

"As long as we attack her twice each Round, she can't move, and she gets no free attacks on us and she can't move. I think she wants to get away, not attack us." -
There, there, child. Calm yourself. Remember, the Force is thy ally, and a worthy ally it is. It doth not choose lightly those who can hear its call. It is in the nature of all beings to doubt, to toubt themselves, others, the Force itself. Don't. Feel, don't think. Let the force flow through you. Faith the size of a sweesonberry seed can shift a moon. Size matters not, for the Force is greater than us all.

OOC: Is it possible for me to use a Scroll on her? -

"Do you think that one of my Scrolls might help? Blindness or Confusion, perhaps?" OOC: I think it's not right, I think it was from flanking the enemy last turn, and should be reverted. -

"Isabella, quickly! Have Pikemen C attack Lady Leofwena and your Knights move north and attack her. If you do that and move Pikemen D North, you can keep her pinned down until the reinforcements arrive. Master Skrall, if your Imperial Pikemen move Southwest this turn, and then move Northwest next turn, we'll be able to surround her. Imperial Pikemen, one hex North! Crossbowmen, one hex Northwest! Alexandre, your Pikemen should head SouthWest around the mountain, and your Knights should head directly South. If we do this, we can keep her busy with melee units while our crossbowmen move into position and nail her from afar." OOC: I figured it was something like that; I was mainly hoping that listing the actions for you would save you some work when you did have time to get on. Also, I just realized I now have a legitimate excuse to stalk you. -
No RotMG during Mafia!
-
This is by far my biggest pet peeve in Heroica (not pointing only at you, B&P, I'm pointing at several people, but it does include you). This isn't Mafia; time is not a big deal. Yes, waiting for one last player can get annoying, but there's not really a set deadline, and even the 24-hour rule is usually given plenty of leeway by QMs (especially if they see you online). There is really no excuse not to read what the other players are posting, especially since that's the entire purpose of the game. With all due respect for Sandy and the other QMs (I think they'd agree with me, though), the interactions between players and environment are not the heart of Heroica; it's the interaction between players. The mechanical rules play an important role, to be sure, but they are not the purpose of the RPG. The mechanics are the skeleton of the world, the QM-created environments are the senses that let you see it, but the characters are the heart and soul. Skimming, or "TL;DR roleplaying" as I like to put it, denies the very spirit of what makes Heroica special. Pay attention, listen to what other players say, and let go of the numbers and just let the story take you where you need to go. Heroica in a nutshell.

Heroica RPG - Quest #31: Lions and Lambs

Arthur studiously evaulates the tactical situation in an attempt to keep things clear in everyones' minds. OOC: OK, so to summarize our actions as stated: Lion Knights B: Attack Lady Leofwena Lion Knights B: Move "west" (Northwest, perhaps?) Lion Pikemen D: Move Northwest Lion Pikemen C: Move Northwest Lion Crossbowmen A: Attack Cultist Picket Force B Imperial Pikemen A: Move Southwest (error in last round, they were stated to move instead of attacking last round in order to avoid taking damage) Imperial Pikemen B: Move North Lion Crossbowmen B: Attack Cultist Picket Force B (hilltop position) Lion Pikemen B: Move Southwest Lion Pikemen A: Move South That's all our actions in, correct? -
To add to this: Gold lets Heroes develop their characters' abilities the way they want. To be sure, "unique" items are great, but too much can cause a Hero to be playing by an almost completely different set of rules than other Heroes. Of course, there's a player side aspect of this as well; trying to become too rich or "all-powerful" is irritating to other players, and can give the impression that you're just there to kill stuff and not to role-play and interact with other peoples' stories and characters. My general (player-side) rule of thumb for mechanically developing a Hero is: pick one or two, possibly three mechanical "quirks" to go after, and aside from that, focus on story. Arasmyth is a good example; he's centered his character around being an aeromancer, and even though the Emerald in Quest 17 would have made him more powerful, he's "finished" that aspect of himself and is focusing more on his character's story and personality. For Arthur, I've chosen to make him a Scroll mage (which is why I get somewhat feverish whenever I see a new kind of Scroll ), and to get him the three "super-effective" gems (Opal, Amethyst, and eventually Topaz). Beyond that, I may see something that catches my eye, but mostly I plan to just fuel up on consumables and the occasional weapon upgrade as necessary, and focus on the story. Cue Maurice walking in...
-
Don't your five wives do that for you?
-
Heh, I've lined up a deal for one of those scrolls, and I'm hoping I can offer a good enough deal for the one that sold out to convince someone who bought one to part with it. The Bat-a-rangs are a secondary concern, especially since it'd take nine more battles for me to hit Level 15.
-
EDIT: never mind, I was a bit harsh there.
-
Agreed. Something like SP:1 or SP: 2 would be all right, in conjunction with the "cannot be upgraded" deal, but... The most powerful Shield Power artifact created (as far as I know) has been Doc's Robe of the Elven Necromancer, and it's for Mages (which suffer from low HP, making it immensely useful). And it's only an SP:4 artifact, and it was a pain to get and is really rare.

I see your avatar... Whoops, broken link now. Try uploading from computer and then clearing your cache, that should make it work.

Just save the image to your computer, then upload it to the avatar section as usual.
