I had that reaction so deeply ingrained into myself that I missed that we were supposed to be posting in the other Quest.

Me too! *runs after bandwagon and attempts to jump on, but trusts Chromeknight and gets stabbed instead* -
Arthur just stood there rather stupidly, so after slightly more eye-rolling than was necessary, Count Knyghton spoke up. "We've been workin' with Emperor Alandri, he's assigned us ta take out a group of rebellious Lion Knights led by four deserters: Sir Loren and his traitorous associates. Along tha way, we found out that Lady Leofwena, the squire of one of our Knights, was workin' with tha Cult of the Chimaera ta try and resurrect tha' ancient beast--they have all o' tha books ta do it, but they lack tha pedestal they need ta finish tha reaction. Though I still say we shoulda taken it with us." He says, throwing a glance at Arthur. "Master Skrall here Tracked Down tha Cultist Leofwena, and their high an' mighty mage Lord Calibor came to her aid. They're both dead, though they mentioned someone named 'Sphinx' who migh' still be around." Knyghton sees Arthur's staff, taken from Calibor's body, shake slightly, and he decides to leave out the exact details of the end of that battle. "After tha', we tried to talk some sense inta Arthur, with apparently limited success, an' then we came here an' fought off a bunch o' Rogue Lion Knights. An' then we ran inta you." A horrible thought struck Arthur. "The troops...please tell me you didn't attack any troops on the way in here..."

OOC: Fail, I totally missed Doc's link, thought it was plain text. I've struck out what no longer applies, more appropriate responses are underlined. Knyghton grabs Arthur roughly by his robe, stopping him short and sending the spell awry. Arthur hits the floor with an audible thunk. "What in BLEEDING BLAZES is wrong with ya, ya blitherin' fool! The Tethusial, then Isabella, now this? Wha' has gotten in ta ya?!" Arthur pants roughly as he calms down. He sees the other Heroes, three of whom he recognizes. He gets awkwardly to his feet. "Urm...hi," he says lamely.

Ahem. Can I just state for the record: FREAKIN' FINALLY! I've also taken the risk of NOT checking on anyone's stats, and Stunning Knyghton for the turn (hope that's OK, Doc, if not, just treat it as a No Action from the Back Row ) just for added RP flair. Also, De'kra, be glad you aren't visible in Doc's pic, from the RP side it would have been SO delicious for Arthur to attack De'kra on accident. EDIT: Oh god. That...that was a fail. :wall:

Heroica RPG - Quest #31: Lions and Lambs
Flipz replied to Brickdoctor's topic in The Heroica Archive
Arthur has a nagging feeling he recognizes that hammer, but pushes it aside. He snarls, and his eyes start to glow slightly as he begins charging his dark powers. After carefully memorizing the spells on his Scrolls, he leaps into the hallway, casting the Blindness spell on the red-cloaked figure from the Back Row. Count Knyghton, too, has the nagging feeling that he knows that weapon, but unlike Arthur it clicks for him. "Arthur, no, that's--" Before he can say anymore, Arthur rams into him mid-leap; Knyghton is slammed against the wall and momentarily Stunned. OOC: Because I was an idiot and didn't realize the underlined text was a link this post is considered null and void. -

I'm in the same boat, unfortunately. May's kind of a bad month for planning things, for me. -
Happy birthday, Admiral Big Cam! *salutes*

Heroica RPG - Quest #31: Lions and Lambs
Flipz replied to Brickdoctor's topic in The Heroica Archive
Arthur feels a surge of satisfaction as his power bursts forth to cut short the lives of his enemies. The dark elation even drowns out his latent hostility toward Isabella for a moment, and he cheerfully accepts the gold without complaint. Moving to the bodies, he feels the magically-inflicted wounds, reveling in the aura of supernatural death that still surrounded them. His mind returning to practical matters, he examines the bodies for trace evidence (fibers, plant leaves, etc.) that might indicate the rebels' point of origin. Upon completing his task, he steps outside the gate for a moment and digs, coming in before the Imperials seal the fort. -
I've said this a LOT, I know, but I want to see Atramor, Tomas, Cinna, De'kra, and Arthur on a Wren Quest. Tomas/Cinna/De'kra is a combo that Tanma has already said is important to De'kra's development, and I for his roleplaying; I also want to see Atramor and Arthur Quest together, and Arthur and De'kra. Wren Quest chosen simply because all of these characters (save for Tomas) have some degree of darkness, and because she tends to bring out the epic roleplaying. To round out the party, I'd probably want to see Cronk, Hybros, or Tensi, all of whom have history with Wren. In terms of JUST others' characters, I want to see Atramor, De'kra, Cronk, Skrall, Tensi, and Boomingham on a Quest together, preferably some kind of "investigation" Quest, lots of questioning suspects, finding vague clues in the streets, that sort of thing. Bonus points if the "criminal" and the "victim" are not exactly distinct from each other; a Hinckwell-Shadeaux Quest would actually be quite interesting for that.

Heroica RPG - Quest #31: Lions and Lambs

OOC: And that is a fail. You're right, it is WP:5. I never dealt any damage with a direct attack, so there is NO discrepancy in the battle actions. -

OOC: Results appended to previous post, there's about 8 points of extra HP that could have been granted, but they were above the target's max Health anyway so it's a non-issue. -

OOC: I'll go track it down, it's good practice for when I eventually QM. Be right back, I'll find if it affected anything and edit this post. EDIT: Arthur is now the all-powerful ruler of the world and demands 10,000 Gold as tribute Nothing major was affected, mostly hits with the Healing Staff that managed to completely fill the target's health anyway, so it's not an issue. -

Arthur, having carefully lined up his shot, blasts Pikeman B from the Back Row with Darkness magic. He steals a look at Isabella to see if he can get a clear shot at her, but a stern look from Luke holds him in check. The moment his blast is released, he reclaims his Healing Staff, which had rolled back to him. Count Knyghton, meanwhile, extends his hand to Isabella, and he heaves her toward the enemy, adding his power to her attack. OOC: In other words, he attacks whoever she attacks. Also, Arthur should be using the WP:7 staff, he equipped it as soon as he got it (see my stats on my profile page). Thus, he should have 18 Power, if I've calculated right. -
I actually tried to do a variation of this in Bedtime Story, and screwed up epically. Granted, one of the people I was planning this with was Scum (), but even so the people I told did nothing with the information (except for Dakar A), which led to the Town loss. Ultimately, the "Town Leader" meta-role is limited by the activity of the people they talk to; if all of the loyal Townies stay silent and don't DO anything with the suspicions you told them, then the Town is screwed, regardless of how accurate your suspicions are or how trustworthy you've made yourself. Then again, maybe I'm just doing it wrong.

Fix'd. Admit it, you just want this thing so you can summon a Balrog.

Heroica RPG - Quest #31: Lions and Lambs

"Thanks for tha healin', Luke my friend." Count Knyghton attacks Pikeman B from the Front Row, tossing concerned glances at Alexandre. "Miss Isabella, I think if ya take Pikeman A, ya'd be in a good position ta take him out if ya manage ta Mug him," he says calmly. -
Aww...poor Jensen!

"Bah!" Arthur grumbles. He decides to take his time to line up his shot from the Back Row, but his Healing Staff gets in his way. Grumbling and muttering, he tosses it over his shoulder, where it accidentally Hits Alexandre. -
The construct could be fitted with the player's old weapons and artifacts, since the player won't be attacking directly anyway. Would you mind terribly if I played around with the wording and formatting and posted the tweaks I come up with?
-
Lemme guess. "And suddenly Wren teleports you all to where you need to be." Right?
-
TBH, it's a little over-the-top and rushed, but for the most part I like to think that I've set things in motion realistically, given the circumstances. BTW, Arthur wrote De'kra a note, even though he knows De'kra will likely never see it because the journals don't work in Dastan. You would be even more disturbed if you knew what it said.

Alexandre's blade bypasses SP.

Yes, you are. You lucky duck!

And Arthur's ancestral magic is being blocked. (This actually goes far deeper than has been revealed, no one's character is interested in how Arthur's magic works.) And he's failing most of his attacks, though that seems to be improving. And he thinks Rogues are evil even though he's slowly becoming more and more Rogue-like over time. Arthur has issues.
