Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread
Flipz replied to Lance's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
Holy crap, it's out as early as July?! YES. ALL OF MY YES. <3 And it looks like the Serpentine make something of a comeback. Hooray! I'm so glad we'll get to see a little more of them, I was worried they would just get tossed out entirely as a threat to Ninjago, the way the Skullkin did. (I was very happy whenever they made cameos, but let's be honest: without Garmadon leading them, the Skullkin were never depicted as a real threat.)- 4,591 replies

What do you do with your sets/MOC once you've built them?
Flipz replied to hellopike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I never actively disassemble anything, I just stick it on a shelf and slowly watch it disappear as I cannibalize parts for other projects. On the plus side, if I ever want to rebuild a particular set or MOC, I usually have about half of it left and can reconstruct it from there. Some things are just too sacred to deconstruct, though (aside from raiding for accessories and minifigs, of course)--the modular buildings are big players in that department. -
Sometime between 3:30 PM Pacific time and 4:30 PM Pacific time, I was unable to access the site. The first time, I managed to get a database error (but not a screenshot, sorry), and after that I just got "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage." I was able to see other websites during this time.

1. Two games, both of which i need redemptions for: Lost as Town Doctor Cinderella in Bedtime Story, and as Roron Corobb in Jedi Temple Mafia...well, Brickdoctor put it best: ^^ What he said. 2. Space is a quantum wavefield manifested as a spatio-temporal fabric that can be manipulated and deformed by various forces such as the mass shadow of planets, stars, black holes, and other massive objects, and which may or may not contain regions wherein the actual speed of light is altered from what we currently know. Proper deformation and manipulation of the fabric of spacetime can allow faster-than-light travel without breaking the "speed of light speed limit" by displacing specific segments of this fabric relative to other sections, thus creating a "bubble" in which the vessel itself is not traveling faster than the speed of light (relative to the spacetime within the bubble), but the bubble itself may or may not be. 3. "2 + 2" is a finite combination of two symbols (in this case, both representing the constant "2" that is well-formed, and, additionally, is a closed formula (since it contains no free variables). This mathematical expression may be simplified to the single constant "4", but in any case its truth cannot be evaluated, as it is not an actual equation. Dang it, I wanted to use that one.

Heroica RPG - Quest #31: Lions and Lambs
Flipz replied to Brickdoctor's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Thanks, Alexandre, I appreciate this." Arthur uncorks a Tonic and drinks it. "Remember, folks, if you find yourself short of gold, mine is yours." "I personally am ready ta go, and didn't ya have some sort o' secret plan, Arthur?" Arthur nods. "Isabella, on my signal, *whisper whisper whisper whisper*. Hopefully it'll help our chances, and fewer people will get hurt. Agreed?" OOC: Honor code on this, folks, this spoiler's for Doc and Isabella only. -
Hey, guys, it's Sandy's birthday! If you're in the Hall, be sure to say hi to Ellaria, and if you're not, be sure to wish Sandy a Happy Birthday! Happy Birthday, Sandy!

Happy Birthday, to all of you, and especially to you, Sandy! Hope it's a great one! ...Say, does this mean all of the Heroica characters get a present?

You can also start messing around with group PMs now. I want to start a MASSIVE group PM now that I'm a Duke. -
Heroica RPG - Quest #31: Lions and Lambs
Flipz replied to Brickdoctor's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Speaking of which, would ya mind terribly giving some o' those tonics to Luke? He's runnin' low on Ether, and we could really use his skills in battle." "If you wouldn't mind, I'd like a Tonic as well. Also, Isabella, I think it would be prudent to purchase a Phoenix Essence or two or three so we can revive you mid-battle; we sorely missed you after the Chaos Beast took you down." "I've also calculated that it would cost you 371 Gold to upgrade your weapon by 5, though that would prevent you from purchasing anything else, and would indeed require ALL of us to pitch in to help (or you could use your Zoot's Cookie to earn additional Gold, though that may not be the best use of it); still it could be most useful, and if you want to do the 5-WP upgrade, my Gold is at your disposal. Alternatively, you could stock up on Nostrums; if you earn just two Mugs in battle by using a Nostrum, you will earn back the cost in Gold AND make a tidy profit." "My recommended purchase for you, Isabella, is: upgrade your weapon to WP:8 (88 Gold), purchase 2 Nostrums (35+35=70 Gold), purchase a Phoenix Essence (50 gold), thus leaving you with an even 100 Gold to spend as you see fit." "In any case, everyone, if you find yourself short of Gold, consider mine to be at your disposal." -

"Very well. My idea can wait. The cultists are most definitely our priority after that, though." -

Flipz replied to Brickdoctor's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Sir Poletad, would you mind healing me? I need to be at full strength for this to work." Arthur addresses everyone but Isabella. "All right, listen. We need to get to the Cultists before they raise the Chimaera, but a large group will only slow us down and draw attention. You six go on ahead." Arthur turns to Isabella and extends his hand. "Isabella, will you trust me?" -

No Success Getting 9468 Vampyre Castle Online Instructions
Flipz replied to DLuders's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The first ten seconds of this pretty much sums it up (yes, I am American ): As others have said, the online instruction manuals are a convenience, not a right; TLG doesn't owe it to anyone to have them online. Even if all the other June sets are already up, that doesn't mean the instructions for THIS set have to be up as well. Perhaps there was a problem with the file, or perhaps someone accidentally deleted it and they had to retrieve a backup. If the set has multiple instruction booklets, this may have been a factor as well. There are plenty of reasons that the instructions upload could be delayed, and considering that this particular service isn't a huge priority, this means it will likely be a while before it's fixed. Regardless, yelling at and insulting TLG's excellent customer service employees won't solve anything, aside from decreasing your reputation among the department. Given your attitude toward them in this situation and, from the sound of it, in the past, how far out of their way do you think they'd be willing to go to help you with other issues in the future? Just be patient and stay respectful, and usually TLG's customer service will resolve the situation in an exemplary manner. -
Heroica RPG - Quest #31: Lions and Lambs
Flipz replied to Brickdoctor's topic in The Heroica Archive
OOC: Dammit, I wanted Special VI, not V! "Luke, try healing again, please, preferably healing me since I'll be most at risk if Skrall misses. I'll cast another Ice Spell, Back Row. Skrall, keep at it with that Heavy Crossbow to keep it in the Back Row where it's less dangerous for us, and Alexandre, Hans, keep up the good work as usual." -
Just kidding, I know which one you're talking about.

Wait, we're behind?!

Heroica RPG - Quest #31: Lions and Lambs
Flipz replied to Brickdoctor's topic in The Heroica Archive
"All right, everyone, this is it! Skrall, keep at it with the Heavy Crossbow, we're all safer that way. Knyghton, just stay put, Luke can heal you. Hans, Alexandre, keep it up, Front Row if you please. I'm going to cast my spell from the Back Row one more time..." -
I understand that for your Quests; after all, they are main-plot Quests, and thus all of the intrigue/plot twists are built-in to the scenario itself. However... I would disagree with this. Some Quests seem designed for intra-party conflicts. I don't know the circumstances of De'kra's situation, but I do know that Wren Quests, among others, are among the ones that aren't averse to PvP conflicts, whether through combat or argument.

Heroica RPG - Quest #31: Lions and Lambs
Flipz replied to Brickdoctor's topic in The Heroica Archive
As Arthur exerts his power, he sees the potential threads of the immediate future and devises a strategy. "Alright, folks, listen up! All of us except Hans have a strong likelihood of being Knocked Out if we fight from the Front Row, so all of us (except you, Hans) need to fight from the Back Row. Alexandre, go ahead and use that sword of yours from the Back Row; you'll be dealing less base damage than you would with your crossbow, but since that blade slices through defenses you'll actually end up doing more damage in the end. Skrall, use your Heavy Crossbow; either of your crossbows will do much better damage from the Back Row than your greatsword, and by using the Heavy Crossbow, next Round, those of us with ranged attacks will only take a quarter of the normal damage. Hans, just attack from the front as normal, you're a tough one and can take the hit. Luke, just take a rest this Round, save your Ether. You can heal Skrall again, if you want, but be sure to go last in the Battle Order. Knyghton, just keep attacking from the Back Row with your Crossbow while I again cast an Ice Spell at the Chaos Beast of Dastan." -
They can deal Special Damage, yes. I'm working on an in-character explanation of our options.

EDIT: Whoops. Forgot about the head change. Don't have that face, sorry.

Heroica RPG - Quest #31: Lions and Lambs
Flipz replied to Brickdoctor's topic in The Heroica Archive
OOC: I was actually trying to prevent the party from taking damage by Blinding the beast... Incidentally, this is why you should have either attacked from the Back Row or used your Crossbow; being in the Back Row halves damage, but if you have a throwing weapon, a ranged weapon, or are using magic, you can still attack with full damage. Even if you did a normal melee strike from the Back Row (which would have halved the damage you did), you could not have been Knocked Out. -
I can do everything but the weapon, should be ready tomorrow. I'll see if I can recreate one of your other weapons, or if I get lucky I might find the parts to make that totem after all.

Jedi Temple Mafia - Conclusion
Flipz replied to Masked Builder's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Perhaps. I did point out that that was written right after the losing vote. You make a good point, but there were still FAR too many sheep and inactive players. And to be honest, sheep are even more harmful to Town than conversions or serial killers or even Janitors. Even though most of the spoilered stuff is a bit overly harsh, I do stand my my statement that "if you're not going to be active and participate, don't freakin' sign up in the first place!" It's simply not fair to anyone.
