Make it into an Expert Class. *scribble scribble*

DISCLAIMER: I'm feeling evil so you may want to skip past this post to reduce the burning curiosity that will inevitably result. To be fair, I've lightened the text so it's easier to miss while skimming, though I don't think that will help very much. Well, Arthur DID just try to kill himself already and managed to Knock himself Out right before battle, so technically...

I do like the concept, though I also think that the Diviner should be completely immune to spells of the favored element. Also, slight rewording of Magical Retribution: 5. Magical Retribution: The Diviner is struck by the opponent’s attack, but in return makes the opponent weak to his favored element for the rest of the battle. Optionally, any attempt of healing fails. You might think about making the class unable to attack physically, like Sages, but other than that I think it's good.

One thing to keep in mind--mostly, we're designing classes that other people will play, not us; after all, if a class of ours is approved, WE have to give them out to Heroes who complete relevant Quests of ours; since we can't go on our own Quests for obvious reasons, we can't earn the classes we design.

Agreed. I like the concept of a class being "elementally locked," though. Try using the third Shield effect listed, with a 1/3 chance of assasination, and remove instant kill from all other rolls. Instead of Flee, they should get Track Down, and the note about only being able to use Darkness spells should become a new Job Trait (i.e. "Dark Spirit--Bounty Hunters may cas spells, but only of the darkness element; in addition, they may not wield any weapon that is not Darkness-imbued (dual-imbued weapons are allowed, so long as one of the elements is Darkness). Bounty Hunters are immune to Darkness damage but take double damage from Light.") Superficial Hit needs to go, as does Special Deflect. Damage Deflection should change so that it has a 50/50 chance of Deflecting the damage to another (randomly-chosen) participant in the battle, whether it be friend or foe. Spot 4 should be something along the lines of "DECOY - The Bounty Hunter hides behind an ally next to them in the party Battle Order. Next Round, any damage or effect dealt to the Bounty Hunter affects the ally instead."

Holy cow! Somebody find me a Hinckwell to murder, I need to wipe out that rep and gain some prestige with the Shadeaux!

It's Assasin's Creed meets Star Wars. And it sounds awesome! I wonder if they'll make any LEGO set tie-ins for this? Hopefully they won't be overpriced like the gorgeous-but-expensive TOR sets... You would like games about the seedy underbelly of Star Wars, wouldn't you?

Heroica RPG - Quest #31: Lions and Lambs
Flipz replied to Brickdoctor's topic in The Heroica Archive
"I've got yer back, Alexandre," Knyghton says, firing his crossbow at Pikeman B from the Back Row again. "Hold on, Isabella, let me heal you before you head out there again." Arthur heals Isabella with the Healing Staff from the Back Row. -

"Isabella, could you please take Pikeman B? We'd much appreciate it." OOC: 24 hours have passed since the last battle round was posted. If you want to autoplay (I certainly wouldn't mind), Knyghton will always use his crossbow from the Back Row on the enemy with the least health, unless an enemy would otherwise remain untargeted. Arthur will use the Healing Staff from the Back Row on whichever ally has the lowest Health; if no ally is hurt, he'll instead physically attack from the Front Row with his Cultist Staff. -
Let's test that theory, shall we? Inspired by so many of yours... Bad News for Harry by Poochythegenius, on Flickr (And yes, I'm aware of HISHE, this one's in LEGO so it's better. )

Holy cow...you're here! Great to see you on Eurobricks! Welcome!

Indeed. I plan to tweak the Engineer class some more, but not until after Sandy releases the official Expert Classes; right now, we can only balance these for Advanced Classes, and I'm starting to get the feeling that we're under-powering our concepts because of it.

Heroica RPG - Quest #31: Lions and Lambs

"Master Skrall, would you mind giving us a Battle Order? I almost gave one myself, but I didn't want to step on your authority now that you've joined the battle." -
Minor spelling errors should still count, format is supposed to be the main issue, I think. Though if spelling errors invalidate the vote, next game I'm adding a bunch of Chinese or Japanese or Korean special characters to my name so it's too difficult to lynch me.

All right. Jakejonespaw. Dead Writeboard. Nao. Also, [insert rant here about lack of participation in Mafia games and how obnoxious it is to everyone]. Or, to put it another way: If you're not gonna participate, don't sign up! One or two people not participating? Annoying, and, depending on the circumstances, lynch-worthy just on its own. But four?! By not participating, you're disrespecting both your host(s) AND the other players, no matter which side you're on; you're essentially telling them that they aren't worth your time and attention. And that's just not cool.

I don't know, what is the view like from there? How expensive are utilities and property taxes? And what's the current trend for property values there? If it's a good investment, maybe we WANT to build homes there. Sorry, I have a mind for bizzare puns.

Poor Benji needs to just sit back and do nothing for the rest of the battle, giving his Aura to the enemy is making the battle WAY harder than it has to be.

That's the purpose of this topic; to point out and discuss good roleplaying. Not in the sense of a true archive, but when good roleplaying appears, someone can point it out here and give the person who wrote it a pat on the back, and explain for the benefeit of less experienced players why it's great. I DO plan to index great roleplaying advice; the two quotes listed in Opening Night, for example, will be indexed as soon as I get around to formatting the index, as well as other great quotes as I find them.

In the spirit of the Theatre, I'm going to point out an example of fine roleplaying, and present Bilbert's thoughts on the matter. "Ordinarily, I would worry about including moments involving flirtation, but as you can see Eric has pulled it off quite well. His deliberate and manipulative seduction of the lizard-woman Freeda borders on disturbing--which is exactly what makes it so interesting, compared to the boring, stale flirtation we normally see. Don't be afraid to make choices that make you seem unlikeable; we all have our flaws, and those flaws are the foundation of the conflict that makes us interesting. So, excellent choices, Eric, and, erm...don't show us what happens next. For all our sakes. " "This is Bilbert Wigglepike, reminding you...that character counts."

Heroica RPG - Quest #31: Lions and Lambs
Flipz replied to Brickdoctor's topic in The Heroica Archive
Arthur, seeing that neither remaining enemy could hurt Alexandre, decides to Heal Knyghton from the Back Row with his Healing Staff. Turning to Skrall, he says, "Awaiting your orders, sir!" Count Knyghton, meanwhile, kneels to steady his aim, and once again fires upon Pikeman B from the Back Row with his Crossbow. -
Heroica RPG - Quest #31: Lions and Lambs
Flipz replied to Brickdoctor's topic in The Heroica Archive
Arthur spots Skrall aiming for the Pongcanis. "Sir Alexandre, new plan, go after the Tethusial, his Special can't K.O. you thanks to your shield. I'm still going to heal you anyway. Isabella, if you target Pikeman A we can finally avoid taking Free Hits." EDIT: "Luke! I'm fine. ish. Heal Count Knyghton, he's lost more Health than I have, and I have my Healing Staff and potions, which means my healing can't fail. Besides, if things get dire for me I've got a chance to get away unharmed," he says, indicating his battle staff. -

Flipz replied to Brickdoctor's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Take him out, Alexandre. Isabella, could you please try the Tethusial again? Knyghton, try it again, I need to Heal Alexandre with the Healing Staff from the Back Row again." Count Knyghton shoots his crossbow (again) at Pikeman B from the Back Row. Battle Order: Arthur Alexandre Knyghton Isabella -
I don't see why not, especially from people like you who've demonstrated roleplaying skill already. In the interests of convenience, here's the parts I used for Bilbert Wigglepike:

How is machine printing done?
Flipz replied to nemesis4670's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
But that's the beauty of it. ED could make the designs, Nemesis would deal with the printing and supplies, and the partnership prospers. Doing everything on one's own isn't the only way to run a business; the way I see it, by partnering with ED-209, he'd be supplying a demand that is very prevalent among the minifig customization community: that is, durable prints of ED-209's work. It might take a larger number of orders for Nemesis to break even, since he'd be splitting revenues with ED-209, but the number of orders coming in would increase exponentially, and so Nemesis would actually break even faster. Just my two cents. -
I don't think it's too strong at all. Sandy did say that these are intended to be a lot stronger than Advanced Classes; it makes sense, we have to go through 40 battles after Level 15 to get there, there SHOULD be a major reward to it. I like Rally as-is, and I don't think the job traits should be split up, either.
