  1. "If Sasha would be kind enough to attack the Angel, I'll cast a Darkness Spell at Aura A from the back row, if I get lucky I might be able to take it out."
  2. Supply...Arthur...with...lots...of...Nostrums...so he can...stun them all...constantly...and...rake...in...obscene...amounts...of gold.
  3. And I will say it again: Scubacarrot's clearly watched Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End semi-recently. That or he just really likes weaving twenty different plot threads together the way Doc and Zepher do. But seriously, do Jacob and Christian remind no one of ?Also, Zeph, Tensi's Counter is not a magical effect, so why hasn't the angel been taking damage from it?
  4. I have the distinct impression that Sandy's already done the latter...fifty Quests later when the enemy shows up we'll realize that little detail we missed back in Quest whatever and begin fifty rounds of -ing at our lack of foresight.
  5. Scuba's been watching the Pirates of the Caribbean movies recently, hasn't he?
  6. I noticed you mentioned that you based the battles off of the Fantome Croise battle. To be honest, that battle was unbalanced as well, as (IMO) the guard fight in Q47 sort of seems as well. (Guards battle is a lot closer to ideal, but still a tad much; the "ignores row" thing is a OHKO for Mackency, which is not really a good idea.) Also, the "pills" to be tested AND the no smoke bomb rule were too much together. I really get why the "no smoke bomb" thing makes sense thematically, but if you wanted that, then some other effect should have been in place (i.e. all pills have SOME advantage, or healing is twice as effective in the magic realm, or Smoke Bombs don't let you flee, but the smoke hides you, making the party immune from Free Hits for x number of Rounds). I liked both concepts, but they're both things that make the Party's job mechanically harder; more than one and victory starts to fall out of reach. Also to note: not everyone has SP. If you're dealing with a high-SP party member, it's better to just let them live a long, long time and chip away at them with status effects, rather than upping enemy Power to a point that it's overpowering to everyone else. Otherwise, things end up being a Knight-fest, where the Knights get to have balanced fights but no one else has a chance.
  7. Arthur repeats his action.
  8. OOC: Because I know what Zeph's schedule is like right now... Battle Order: Cronk - Aura B, Back Row, Beast Skewer Tesni - Angel, Front Row, Cysogdion Alexis - Aura A, Back Row, Darkness Spell Arthur - Aura B, Back Row, Scroll of Frailty Alexis - Aura A, Back Row, Darkness Spell Sasha - Aura A, Front Row? Haldor - Aura B, Front Row, Bear Claw Gloves
  9. "Tensi does, but sh should be all right for a couple more rounds. Haldor may want to use his Remedy on her in about four Rounds, though."
  10. OOC: you seem to have lost track of how long I've been Blinded; I should only have one turn of Blindness left. "All right, I'm going to try and cast a Fragility Scroll Spell on Aura B from the Back Row, which means someone needs to join me in my attack. Haldor, you have the least useable Power and the highest remaining Ether, care to join me?"
  11. [MichaelCaine]Some Paladins aren't looking for anything logical, like an easy fight. They can't be bought, Intimidated, reasoned or negotiated with. Some Paladins just want to watch the world burn.[/MichaelCaine]
  12. OOC: For Zeph's easy reference: Battle Order: Cronk (Front Row, Angel, Beast Skewer) Tesni (Front Row, Angel, Cysogdion) Arthur (Back Row, Aura B, Darkness Spell) Alexis (Back Row, Angel, Mockthril Longbow) Sasha (Front Row, Angel, Axe of Ilrion) Alexis (Back Row, Angel, Mockthril Longbow) Haldor (Back Row, Heal Tensi)
  13. Yeah, Sandy usually indicates the success or failure of Special Guard the way he does for Lucky and Confusion rolls. I know that if I ever get my act together and QM a Quest, I'll be putting that sort of thing down, if only to remind myself of the results of the roll.
  14. As Arthur almost learned the hard way. Hey, fun game for someone if they have free time (ha! ) and are feeling bored: catalogue which Quests have the most pictures. Although, I think it'd basically be a run between Doc, Zeph, and Sandy again.
  15. It just takes away a certain amount of Health every Round. The exact amount of burn damage varies by QM, but usually is around 2-4 Damage per round; since it's not a universal "set" amount it should be listed in the enemy stats if a Burn-inducing effect is present.
  16. Wedge09, "SHIELD" actions can only be taken if you happen to roll a SHIELD on your attack roll; you can't choose to roll one (as desirable as that might be ).
  17. "Cronk's Angel shields us for now; however, I understand your line of thinking."
  18. I hereby give you the unofficial Title of "sleep is for chumps." Because I know what time zone you're in and I can do math. :P

  19. "Hello, Cronk's Angel, you come at an opportune time. Tensi, do you wish to take a risk by having all of us attack while we are safely shielded by Cronk's Angel, or do you want Haldor to heal you?" Meanwhile, Arthur casts another Darkness Spell from the Back Row at Aura B.
  20. "A wise plan, Sir Cronk." Arthur casts yet another Darkness Spell at Aura A from the Back Row. OOC: Zeph, if you want to run auto-rounds, Arthur'll attack Aura A until B's Confusion wears off, then he'll attack B until it's dead.
  21. @ Quest 43: See, Tanma, this is why De'kra would do well as a Sorcerer; I'm sure that you, like me, have already come up with twenty different BIONICLE-esque abuses for Nur's elemental powers. That said, I do commend you guys for thinking outside the box. I'm just showing Tanma how De'kra actually is suited for Sorcerer-hood.
  22. I think it's been run this way in the past, but: Confusion does apply to Free Hits, right?
  23. OOC: Also, Confusion applies to Free Hits as well, I believe, did you roll for that chance? Arthur repeats his action, hoping he could possibly finish off Aura A if luck was on his side. OOC: Auto-round, perhaps? Can't see any major shift in strategy possible.
  24. Yes, even if you don't like the Bonapartes, there's not really an excuse to not at least try to save them. In other news, I have figured out the perfect party for a Zeigfried Quest: Arthur, Atramor, Alexis, Althior, Cinna, and Cronk. Arthur and Atramor could teach Lilly to tap into her Rogueish nature to become a Sorcerer, plus Arthur has unfinished business with Valentine and McCafferey would be a great way for Atramor and the other Heroes to learn about the Necromancer abilities of the House; Cinna could teach Merlyn to be a Mystic Knight, while also atoning for the loss of Bluto and continuing that great storyline; Alexis could teach Morgan the ways of the Evoker; Althior could continue the Zirconia/Abraxas storyline, and, being the most Mage-like of the group and having all the gems, the family might push the children to follow Althior's path even though they wouldn't want to. Cronk rounds out the group, being awesome, reuniting with the family members he met in Quest 3, and maybe even inspiring more Chesterine hijinks. Better still, there's TONS of room for character interaction amongs that party, setting it up to be another truly epic Quest. Just wait until AFTER the last Wren Quest; Wren will always have Arthur's priority.
  25. Before you get too hard on yourself, recall that De'kra did ask Nerwen for direction, and that he usually uses that cloak of his whenever someone asks him to. I have to disagree with the magic compass comparisonl; a QM can do anything they want to with a magic compass, it is, after all, just a vague indication of the right way to go, and sometimes *cough*Zepher*cough* "right" has nothing to do with direction. Enemy stats, on the other hand, aren't exactly easy for QMs to wiggle out of.
