"We're in a situation where it's better to have a few really strong hits in a Round than a lot of weaker ones. Unless you can think of a way to disable his portal redirection entirely, it's better to just let me handle it."
-
"I've got this. Someone pick up Masson, everyone else heal yourselves and stay back, just in case I get redirected." Arthur attacks Charon with his Dauntlet Index from the Front Row.
-
OOC: Still waiting on those corrections. If Arthur is successful on his first attack, he attacks Charon with his Dauntlet Index from the Front Row; otherwise, if he took damage he'll use a Grand Potion on himself from the Back Row, or if he is not in danger of KO he tries attacking Clone A from the Back Row with his Spider Leg Spear from the Back Row again.
-
I should be available on all days of the week other than Saturday, and I'll also be occupied for the entire weekend of July 22nd. Other than that, I'm fully available and willing to help.
-
OOC: Charon shouldn't have taken that hit, Arthur attacked Duplicate B from the Back Row with his Spider Leg Spear. As a result, Duplicate B should be Slowed. "Second verse, same as the first, then?" Arthur attacks Duplicate A from the Back Row with his Spider Leg Spear. "Duplicate B is a non-issue, as A will be in a moment. Now is a good time to regroup."

I must have missed the usual bit about it having to be summoned on the SHIELD roll when I was reading the Summons page last night.

How can the Feathered Hat be dropped by Camio if Atramor's been wearing it since he first joined the game? Sandy, the Aquamarine was also stolen by Atramor. Any chance the un-dropped item pics could be uploaded to the Wiki? Some of those drops were really cool, might be useful for later re-use by some of us other QMs like me who are too lazy to think up our own loot.

Whoa, when did Evoker get to summon its spirits at will in battle? Has it been that way all along and I've just been too dense to notice?
-
"Oh, I'm sorry, Miirym and I were a little busy at the time being literally the only people trying to keep your other friends from joining her in death. In fact, we actually might have managed to bring you her body ourselves, mostly intact, if it weren't for a few teensy-weensy potentially fatal difficulties brought on by the storm you and your master brought on yourselves." Prick, Arthur mentally adds, but he's still collected enough to maintain at least a semblance of composure. He stares down Charon, his mirrored visor again reflecting the fallen angel's cold blue gaze back at him. "...You know, one day, if by some miracle you manage to beat us, you're going to realize something. Despite all your blaming, your recriminations, you're going to realize that you and your master set the events of this night into motion yourselves. That you had the chance to avert tragedy by simply choosing another path. For Telethia's sake, I am going to make sure you never suffer that pain."
-
"Gee, you sure care about her a lot. You even remember that she was shot through the heart!" Arthur's sarcastic tone is completely deadpan. "You know, I was grieved by her death. She seemed a decent person, despite her employer. Given how much of a jerk you've been, I doubt anyone's going to be grieving you." "Roger that." Arthur attacks duplicate B with his Spider Leg Spear from the Back Row.

Yeah, there's been a BIG drop in enemies dropping gold recently, and consumables as well. Considering how many consumables a high-level party tends to chew through in even just one battle, that's...not a good thing.
-
103 gold is not a lot. Sandy, this is now the second Quest where you've brought along a Necromancer and then completely denied them chances for undead. Do you get some sort of perverse thrill out of this, or...?

OOC: I think Charon's Fragile should have worn off. Also, Karie used a Grand Tonic, so she should have more Ether. Do the duplicates get letters now, or do they just share a single healthbar and get more Free Hits as more of them appear? "Your call, Karie," Arthur calls out. "I have a decent bead on Charon with my Dauntlet Index, or I could permanently render a clone harmless for the rest of the battle with my Spider Leg Spear. Either way, we should be safe enough to spend a single-target Essence on Vindsval. We should put one Hero on each clone, and then everyone else should either pile on Charon or else prep to Ether up Karie." (OOC: only 16/81 chance of taking Damage or Special Damage, dealing 336 damage minimum on Hits and Crits and better-than-half (671/1296) odds of a SHIELD for 656 damage. All of this assumes no songs sung, of course--it seems a waste of Ether right now.) If Karie asks Arthur to attack Charon, he attacks Charon with his Dauntlet Index from the Front Row. If asked to attack a duplicate, Arthur attacks the specified duplicate from the Back Row with his Spider Leg Spear. If given a second attack, he either repeats (if attacking Charon) or attacks the other duplicate from the Back Row with his Spider Leg Spear. "If we get Vind up, he should take the real Charon."

If you ever figure out a way to grant your Ether to allied party members a la Poletad, we'll have to ban you from Questing alongside Minstrels. ...you know what, let's just do that anyway.

So, I finally looked at Althior's Ether for the first time in a couple years. WHAT IN LIVING HEL?!?!

Rallied, Hybros wades in, blades whirling, as he takes out first Andras and then Camio, while significantly crippling Uvall. OOC: You can. "Thormanil, it would really help if you throw your Doomsday Bomb right about now..."
-
"Oh, plan flaw...Thormy, I need you to throw that Doomsday Bomb first, not the lightning bomb. We can do that next Round, I suppose."
-
I'm 90% certain that unless you're a Marauder, your second strike has to hit the next enemy in line. I could be wrong, though, I'd have to look through the Rules & FAQ to be sure.
-
"No, take Charon. The Wings will all go down to Thormanil's bomb, including the duplicates, so we'll only have to fight Charon himself and any clones he makes of himself from this point on. Best we all pile on and start stacking the damage." "That's exactly why I don't want us burning any more Incenses than we have to. Ideally I'd want to see four people revived per Incense, minimum, unless it seems like Charon's on his last legs."
-
"That's...a very good point." "Thormanil should still throw his bombs, but I guess Karie can take care of herself for this Round. Still, we need to keep Karie's Ether up in general, for all of our sakes. She can sing a Dirge when Charon's on his last legs to revive our fallen, or I could drop the Incense in my halberd if she's too low for it. Either way, we don't want to waste our AoE revives on just one or two targets, especially if they're just going to go down again." Rather than using his Elixir, Arthur just attacks Charon with his Dauntlet Index from the Front Row.
-
"...Thormy, I hate to ask you to burn through more consumables, but we need you to throw your Lightning Bomb and Doomsday Bomb, in that order. All wings will be down, and anyone not focused on the real Charon can take the duplicate." "...except for Masson and Gabriel, we need you on your feet so next Round you can start handling healing duties." "...in fact, if one person can hand Masson a bunch of Ether-restoring consumables and another can hand Gabriel a bunch of healing consumables and Remedies, we should be in good shape."

I second that request. Maybe Sandy and you and the Fellows who play here can start talking to the right people? We are coming up on the Anniversary again, after all... I'm pre-building my sets (or more accurately, having my sets pre-built for me ) for both my upcoming Diana Quest and the upcoming Darius/Wolfgang/Charis Quest. My trick is that I'm trying to keep the action relatively vague, so the same pics can be used for multiple scenarios. I'm also stealing as many pre-existing sets as possible (my apologies in advance to Zepher and WBD ), so long as they don't have NPCs there that shouldn't be (i.e. people who are canonically dead *cough*gates of Carn*cough*). Where I can, I'm actually planning to take a few "blank" pics of some locations, filled only with unnamed NPCs, so that other QMs can re-use them as needed; I'm sure many other QMs (including me ) would greatly appreciate if that becomes a common practice. (*cough*Pie's Baltarok sets*cough*) EDIT: Bah, grammar.

OOC: Jinxed is permanent, just like Slowed. Also, wing duplicate B should be gone as soon as Wing B went. Arthur uses his last Elixir on Karie, then attacks Charon with his Dauntlet Index from the Front Row. "Karie, put me second, twice in a row. I can handle the Charon duplicate's Free Hit from now on. Gabriel, we need you to increase your lethality so you can take Wing A out." "Save your Remedy, though the Grand Tonic would be a good idea. I'll be totally out of Ether supplies after this." Arthur notices the shattered fragments of the doll, and scowls at Charon in irritation. He quietly sweeps them back into his pocket.
-
OOC: I think that has to be reversed to work (since Thormy's not a Marauder), but either way should work strategy-wise. "Hmm." Arthur makes a mental note to talk with the Minstrel more once they return to Heroica Hall.
