I really wish LEGO would release the Castle Giant Chess set as a classic. It is the best chess set LEGO has ever released and it could make a lot of Castle fans happy in lieu of no Castle for a while :)

The only thing that I wish Lego would do is run the theme at least 2 years 3-4 waves of sets. I noticed the trend has been 1 or 2 waves at the most except for the usual themes like Ninjago, Chima, Star Wars etc. One wave of sets is really lame :/

@Hive exactly ! I love how it pays homage to Classic Castle!

I was thinking more of a remake with a modern touch , like how they redid Pirates!

Quote from the Series 13 Minifigures bio:http://www.lego.com/...5dfec9418e80b99 “We may be small now, but one day we shall be a legend!” The Classic King’s kingdom is just getting started. He doesn’t have much land or treasure yet, or even his own little village to rule, but he’s already recruited fourteen brave and loyal knights, and by working together they have constructed a fine golden castle. It has battlements and a flag and a drawbridge and everything! Creating a brand-new kingdom isn’t easy, but the Classic King is full of big ideas. He imagines that one day, the world will be full of castles and fortresses and inns and forests. There may even be horses for his knights to ride…though for right now, they’ll have to build their own! So he's the king of the classic castle http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/375_Castle I wonder if the next Castle theme will be modeled after the classic heraldry and emblems!

The architecture on the top of the small outpost looks so much better than the fort. I wonder why they didn't keep the design the same meh -_-

OMG 2015 Pirates!!! lol J/K :P
-
There might be a toysrus exclusive like they did back in 2009 with the Shipwreck Hideout
-
They also replaced the big shark from 2009 with the older shark design? Wonder if that's a placeholder too? Kinda disappointed in the fort. It looks really small and more like an outpost. The outpost should be a shack lol

Skeleton. And no saddle your right. How can a figure ride a horse without a saddle lol! Must be a poor kingdom :P
-
Lego could just easily bring back Kingdoms for 2015 and add two new Kingdoms maybe the Black Falcons and Forestmen FTW!
-
I wish they would print more instead of using stickers on the more advanced sets :(

Meh ...

Future Castle sets - put your hopes and ideas here

Fantasy Era was the best IMO. They should have added the last missing faction which were the woodland elves! -

I read on another forum saying this castle is panel fest! using too many wall panels, I then realized 6080 had at least 30 wall panels and yet most people praise that set? I'm sure 70404 doesn't have more than 15 lol
-
I'm really excited LOL! Do you guys know if August sets are released a little earlier from past experiences?

Here Here!!

Considering a lot of people are saying that the new castle uses a lot of big pieces it is interesting to note that it does have the highest piece count out of the last three castles with the current 70404 at 996 pieces 7946 was 933 pieces and 7094 was 973 pieces

Correct me if I'm wrong but this year LEGO is celebrating 25 years of LEGO Castle

4 mini-figs and a dog! Can't get any better than that :)

I think 70404 will be a great castle. It has a gatehouse and the keep is pretty cool. I agree that the upper level with the door is probably a treasure chamber. I also just realized maybe the ladder next to the keep is the one the dragon knight used to get to the treasure lol. I'm sure there will be a lot of play feature. For example the catapult on the front tower looks like there is a mechanism to fire it. Again I still wish the drawbridge had chains instead of string. Hopefully stickers will be minimal just the brick pattern on the towers. More soldiers defending the castle would be nice. I have a feeling the set might come in at $89.99 which would be nice. I'm going to guess an estimated piece count of 900+ Also aside from the wall panels there are no pre-fab battlement pieces

I wonder if the room above the throne in the keep is actually a jail. If you look at some of the other angles of the castle I think the jail is below the rear right tower in this photo http://www.flickr.co...57632677753378/ You can also see there is stairs leading up to the battlements in this photo http://www.flickr.co...57632677753378/ so the king would have a way to get up to the throne room because it's on the same level, I don't know about the ladder tho. It's strange that they included that lol It looks like it's just hanging there. I also think the drawbridge would look better with chains.
