Hello everybody. Here´s again some Update on Yellow Jacket and Ant-Man. The Belt-Design changed on both and I added the shoulder-stripes to Ant-Mans back aswell. Also I tried something new on the Heads. Got some inspiration from Phoenix´s Red Bird here, because it is fooking awesome! Legs are printed too (just on the front). Ant-Man looks almost perfect to me. Yellow Jacket needs some tweeks (it seems to look like he has a camel toe ^^) and the color is no perfect match yet. New this time are Dare Devil and another Batman variant (I don´t know how he is able to sneak into my Marvel Figs). I think both look pretty good except Batman´s chin (some printing error here). Also There´s some more detail on both black heads that you cannot see but is visible on DD´s. Dare Devil, Batman, Yellow Jacket and Ant-Man right after beeing printed by bricks @ raminator, on Flickr Comments and Ideas how to make them look better are very welcome.

"Printing" custom minifigure faces?
raminator replied to opn2's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
I can help. But I think the owner of the shop speaks english himself. He prints on Heads, Torsos (front, back, arms), Legs (360°) and a lot of bricks and tiles. You can even submit your own parts and get them printed for 1€ per print. there's on the bottom left of the menu "kleine Mengen" (small quantities). From there on you should have no problem to find what you want. He offers a temlate for corel draw that helps alot designing the gfx but he also accepts png-files and such. I suggest you to contact him. Just write him an email with your questions. He answers usually within a day. -
"Printing" custom minifigure faces?
raminator replied to opn2's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
I suggest taking a look at "Steindrucker.com". Head-Prints cost 1,50 € per Head (including Head) and quality is awesome imho. Here is an example for Head-Prints I ordered there. -
I'm currently reworking the gfx for the heads and torsos of both figures. I'm also working on 3-5 other figures. I have to experiment with / test the legprinting option from "Steindrucker"...so I start with simple stuff first. greetings

Maybe... ;) But first I need to update the design and add printed legs. oh...and btw...thanks for the comment :)

Oh...It´s more than half a year that I posted something new. This time I want to show you a new Ant-Man and a Yellow Jacket. Torsos and heads are custom printed. The fotos are as always pretty shitty. Ant-Man and Yellow Jacket by bricks @ raminator, on Flickr Ant-Man looks IMHO pretty good. The print came out well. Yellow Jacket has sadly some small problems, but hey it´s unique :D The head should have been an other "decal" than Ant-Man´s and there´s some issues with the coloring of the muscles on front and back. But since I plan to update both designs in the future that´s no big deal for me. CnC are very welcome

? Are you talkin to me or the Chinese KO´ers? Actually you find those pics if you search for that keywords I posted. Nevertheless pretty funny.

search the webs for "Decool bricks toys mini figure building block toys" and "The simpsons toys plastic toy bricks" to find amazing mixed stuff...
-
I posted this pic earlier in the initial topic. I don´t want to show another color-option but I just wanted to show that colors like sand blue (sand green/red or similar) work pretty well if mixed with the right colors for hats/epaulettes/etc. Instead of orange dark flesh might work too.

LEGO Ambassador Project: Design a NEW Pirate Sub-Theme
raminator replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
I´d suggest to have a Theme with 3 factions. Blue Coats, Red Coats and Pirates. No good no evil. All on the hunt for epic gold. If you want to capture the essence of the late 80's/early 90's you should really have classic looking Minifigs in there. Something like this: -
I got last year some kreo sets on sale (like 90% off). The quality of the bricks is supperior to megablocks and the kreons and their accesories are superior too.

raminator´s random custom printed Minifigs
raminator replied to raminator's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Thanks to everyone. Search the interwebs for "Steindrucker" and add maybe "lego". But as far as I know he does no world wide shipping yet. But then again it is worth to contact him. Regarding the Spaceninjagirls. I like them too. Have to create some custom leg decals for them to make them even more awesome. -

Just search the interwebs for "Steindrucker". Don´t know though if he ships world wide. -
Just got some new Torsos printed. Let´s start with something rather classic. I never liked the new Redcoats. They have some more details but not the säxappeal of the 90´s Redcoats. Only Downside on the Classic Figs is the white Torso and no backprinting. So I recreated the Classic Imperial Torso using Inkscape and send it to my "local" Steindrucker (german for Brick Printer). And this is what came out. Left Sand-Blue-Coat, middle Blue-Coat and right Red-Coat. All three come with rather simple but classic looking backprinting. Now to something designwise more modern. This time I tried to recreate one of my older decals (take a look at the castle Torso Library) that was based on Eomer´s TorsoDesign. There´s no heraldic stuff on them to keep them as flexible in usage as possible. Those figs would look incredibly better if I had dark blueish grey arms at hand. (arms at hand...muhahahaha) This time I tried to use a PNG instead of a vector grafic. This turne out to be a less good idea since the "semi transparency" on the lines didn´t come out as I thoughed they would. I guess I learned something new... Otherwhise the print quality is awesome. Last but not least I´d like to show what Ninjago would look like if the first 4 core members would be girls and live in Space. The design is based of my Black Widdow and altered to fit Space-Themes. They work pretty well with my Space-Troopers that I showed somewhen earlier in another thread. Again there´s front and back printing. The back is less detailed but I´d rather look them at the boo...cough...cough...ehrm in the eyes. If you like them, please leave a comment. If not, please feel free to suggest me some optimizations. Thanks for you time.

Tutorial How to: DIY decals
raminator replied to mkeller234's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
German Interwebs says that Iron-Settings are between ~110°C (Silk) and ~220°C (~230 - ~430 F). According to wikipedia ABS gets soft from 80°C on. From my own experience with removing keychains from minifigs I know that hot water (~70-75°C) can already damage your figs if you move the legs/arms/head to much. But like said...prove me that I´m wrong ;) -

This about lego + candles bricks.stackexchange.com/questions/547/how-much-heat-can-lego-bricks-withstand So i think this applies to lego aswell. Only possibility would be to have transfer sheets that work at low temeratures (like 60-70°C). -

T-shirt transfer paper would not work since you need heat to apply it on the surface. That`s not good for our bricks. The technique sounds nice :-) -
Hey everybody, I want to show you my latest "creations". Super Hero Groupshot by bricks @ raminator, on Flickr As you can see they are now more colorful Updates on these and on new characters will be posted in the future.

What custom minifigure do you desire?

Why not? This is a free world. ;) And to be back on topic: I´m curious what you can show us! -
This has nothing to do with beer pressure (muhahahaha]. I´m glad and proud to live in an country where we are educated enough to look behind things and question stuff that seems strange. I cannot tell anything on haptical quality of ppm´s prints. but from what you are posting on your flickr I can tell that quality got worse over time. Just take a look at Captain Marvel...He really looks realy blurry compared to what was printed this summer. (and it´s not the camera that is bad) I wish you all the best to get a good reputation in this and/or other communities. But please be aware that people are having an eye on you. On the Badbrick subject... There was once a guy in the Command & Conquer Community that stole assets from me (http://forums.revora.net/topic/66580-ralike/) and other guys like Daz (http://www.moddb.com/mods/it-came-from-red-alert) and used it for his mod "Red Alert Millenium" (http://www.moddb.com/downloads/red-alert-millenium-v15) and acted the same way BB/you did. I don´t want to go further into this. So...PCW, like said I wish you all the best to get better reputation. It´ll be a long way to earn the trust, but I hope for you that you have the endurance.
