You know these sets are apparently an urban legend. They are posted in the bricklink catalog but there is no proof that they exist and I imagine someone would have them for sale even if they were just a promo set (which I find unlikely). It seems that they may have been a concept and even come close enough to production to have instructions and such made but I believe that may have been as far as they actually got. They are sort of boring little sets in my opinion. As for the brickset reviews they were written by our very own ~VBBN(Stealth Bomb).. which is who started this thread and then decided that he actually didn't have them.. after we requested pictures of the polybags. [There is another user who reviewed on brickset and I believe that one is probably bogus as well.]

Thank you for the article Brickster. I have just purchased my first pirate set and I plan to open it in the coming week. I never had a dark age, but didn't discover Lego until 3 years ago, so I am very excited about the new wave of pirates . Also, I would like to see the two ships side by side (Great Idea!). A comparative review would be interesting to see.

Thanks Phes. I have a goal to review all my Paradisa sets before I buy any more lego. I will probably be looking again by March 2009. I'm still missing a good bit of the collection. So, I'll be in touch.

Welcome! You came to EB just in time to participate in Pirate Month (for a few days anyway). ARRH! I have always had good luck with the quality being true to description on Bricklink. Usually the seller notes if the item is new or used and also notes any unusual wear on the item. Just make sure you read the description. :pir-skull:

I am not sure that you have this one listed (I didn't see it in the list). Currently it is a good deal in the USA and is actually cheaper than TRU's Buy One Get One Half Off (for the moment anyway) since it's 6 sets total. I figure the price will go up tremendously in the last day and the reserve is not met. Someone might be able to get a good deal still on this lot. I considered bidding myself but have decided that I will not. If you bought the sets with the TRU sale, you would pay about 155 usd (that was with really quick in my head math so it may be off). I am surprised that there isn't a Tutorial on this subject. I did find this suggestion by LuxorV. You may also find some insight in this thread or this thread. Hopefully, that will be helpful.

Hello Kitty. I really don't have much else to say about it but it would be the cutest lego license ever. They have everything with Hello Kitty, even sniper rifles, so it would only make sense that this would be the next step for lego. Plus think of all the fabulous pink bricks!!!

This is sweet and I can relate... Shadows told me about his Lego hobby addiction and at first I thought it was odd. This was a couple of years ago. Right now, I have 3 minifigs staring at me and 2 minifig heads laying on my keyboard as well as a large zip lock bag full of minifig parts laying next to me and my whole dining room table is covered in Lego. I have my own little Lego collection. Also, just FYI, minifigs are really too small for a wedding cake topper if it is a full scale tiered wedding cake (I've thought about it). I hadn't even played with Lego as a child so it's all new to me. Lego will continue to be a big part of my life and I'm very excited about that actually.

I think we've established that the sharpie won't work. PLEASE don't do these things to your lego. I can only imagine what a white-out hat would look like and it doesn't look good. When I was 10, I painted my nails with white-out while sitting in class (yeah I know, I probably inhaled the fumes too.. it explains some things). The point is, it looked awful because it was all uneven and flaky (besides the fact that white fingernails aren't pretty). If you must modify your lego, invest in some actual paint that is made for plastic so that it will look decent and evenly painted.

I voted for more than an hour. I spend more time when the mafia games are active. I usually read the new posts and then will refresh a few times if it's an especially active time. I find the site amusing most of the time, but I usually don't comment. I hope to be able to be a bit more involved soon.

Yeah, yeah, I get it. I got it the first time, but I figure a lego calculator is always cute to have for those of us who like the little accessories (I'll never forget reading the ice cube tray rant). Perhaps Lego salt and pepper shakers are in your future. OH AND I'll always be younger. I win.

Perhaps you could go to the library and do some research from scholarly journals and books. If you really want to do some research, I would suggest that you go to your local library and see if you can find this book as it seems to be the main resource for most online sources. Also, this website might be useful (click the conservation link at the top). That link will tell you a good bit about the conservation efforts in Nepal and name several of the endangered and threatened species of plant life. Do a search at google for either: endangered plants nepal OR endangered plant life nepal. This should give you results.

I questioned if it was the right place and Shadows said that I should post it here. I personally thought it was a bit of an odd place but it is the haunted forum. :skull: I have never heard of Tangy Taffy. The only reason I like Laffy Taffy is for the jokes. I especially like the pi joke!!!

I love Halloween. I think it's the best holiday. I mean there's candy (including pumpkin spice Hershey kisses and other seasonal delights) and I get to pretend to be someone else for a day. It also gives me a chance to normalize my interests that normally freak people out. So I was at work today, eating Halloween Laffy Taffy (the best candy in the whole world) and I thought that we can all use a little silliness. So, for fun, share your favorite Halloween (lame) jokes. I'll start with some that cracked me up. What did the ghost say to the other ghost? "Do you believe in people" What do you get when you cross a vampire and a snowman? Frostbite. Do zombies eat popcorn with their fingers? No, they eat the fingers separately. Why do mummies have trouble keeping friends? They're so wrapped up in themselves.

I think the best solution here is to buy another top hat. I mean give up already. Top hat's are 10 cents usd on Bricklink. It's not a rare part. Buy 10 top hats or 50, so that next time you decide to force your Lego together, you'll have backups.

I'd be happy to give one of these sets a home.

You know, it really bothers me that Shadow's sigfig is all messed up. I'm thinking about just offering to send Staudie an already put together version. AND.. What the hell happened to the cats!!!? I am a counselor at a private chemical dependency rehabilitation facility. I usually work with clients between 8-12 weeks on an inpatient level. I have also worked in a 14-21 day program and a 28 day program.
