Yeah, I can see how playing a trumpet uses a quite a bit of air. My harness is actually very wierd. I'm kind of a big guy (my rib cage is huge) and my harness fits on me in a way that it resricts my breathing sometimes. I can't get a full breath usually. At least Santa Cruz was somewhat cool, our uniforms are freakin' hot! And I know how the Bass Drums are. I had to play the 3rd biggest one for our street percussion song, and I had to march just by watching the hat plume on the girl in front of me! Also, good luck with the play! DSR

Heh, it is a gray Starfox Arwing. It's great (I think) that there are more skilled young FOL's in our community. It gives hope to us youngins that we can do just as good as everyone else. DSR

Actually, Bounty Hunter, fail. The fighter tank hasn't been released ANYWHERE in the US before. No one here has it. Do some research before you try to prove someone wrong. American FOL's have been complaining about the tank NOT being here since the CW sets were released. This is very new. You may not be in the US, but if not, then you really need to read the original post. Also, you need to work on your grammar a bit. Besides, what does SW.com have to do with a lego set? All the CW sets were on the internet available to buy for months before they were released, it really didn't mean anything. And what do you mean you couldn't customize it? It's freakin' Lego for megablocks sake! It's impossible to say you can't customize a Lego set! It's a building toy! Anyway, on tipic, I may just pick one of these up sometime. Looks really nice! DSR

Well, yesterday I went to my first Band Review in Santa Cuz, CA. That was a helluva lot of work! I play the quads, and they're one of the heaviest freakin' percussion instruments for marching, and we started at Santa Cruz High and marched all the way to the boardwalk. Not to mention that we were stopping every block or so for about five minutes for different things. We went at least 3 miles, up and down hills, on extremely crappy streets, just asking for a twisted ankle or for a trip-up. I'm extremely tired. Not to mention that Friday, we all left school early to march to the library, then march back, playing, for the Homecoming parade, then, marched around the field, then back to the band room. (an excess of about 5-6 miles, round trip). On top of all of this, my really good friend, Ashley, fractured her right foot during street practice last tuesday. She marched most of the way, and got a ride the rest of the way. She was really brave to do it, and I was really proud of her for it. I spent most of the day walking with her on the boardwalk, because she was walking considerably slower than everyone else. I found it considerably hard to complain about anything while I was around her. It just felt wrong to complain about my legs being sore when she went almost the whole way with her instrument with a broken foot. It was kind of a humbling experience for me. I also held her crutches while a bunch of our friends and her played lazer tag instead of going in and playing with them. (she apparently found a corner and camped there). She really appreciated it. We didn't place (I don't think) but I don't think I could have had a better time than I did yesterday (for as little as I did.) Today, I think I'm gonna watch a couple of movies while I recover. IJ: IV, Iron Man, and Zohan, here I come! DSR

Defending the Canyon Outpost
Dark Sword Ragnarok replied to Dark Sword Ragnarok's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Well, I think that the permanent marker I've used has done me well. I only am doing detailing, I don't want to do full body painting. Thanks for the suggestion, though, Legoking! If I ever want do do something like this, I'll be sure to hit you up! Rest will be up soon, maybe not today, but soon. So tired from the band review yesterday. DSR -
Yeah, it does have a lot of playability in it. It even has lightsaber holders on the underside of the nose. I think what he means is that, usually, younger MOCers aren't as experienced. I actually take it as a compliment. I'm strange in a way that whatever I build (or write, for that matter) isn't good enough, or looks/sounds cheesy/strange. It's always good to hear that I did good with something. Also, by plan, you mean my original plan to make Star Fox vehicles, right? If so, then yes, I suppose I have! Thanks for all the support, EB! It makes all the difference. DSR

Defending the Canyon Outpost
Dark Sword Ragnarok replied to Dark Sword Ragnarok's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks, but what do you mean scribble? I use permanent marker, and very carefully. Are you talking about 214, or another clone? If it's 214, I know I ruined his helmet. It's completely thrashed. I used a sharp object to take off some ink that I got on the front by accident. Besides, I have 2 other Pilot helmets, so no worries about that (as long as I can find them again). As I said before, this is the beggining. I havent had time to do all of it yet, but I will try to get the rest up sunday. I have been going all day, and this will probably be the only time I'll have to check Eurobricks until sunday. Guess you'll just have to wait, but that's half the fun! DSR -
Defending the Canyon Outpost
Dark Sword Ragnarok replied to Dark Sword Ragnarok's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks, Thok! I can't wait either. Thanks. It is a gatling gun, yes. Mmmmmm, Gatling! Ah well, the pics are clearest at tis size and the site doesn't have to kick in the auto resize. Thanks about the hologram, though! I thought it was retty good when I got the idea. Maybe, I probably could do text with a program I have, but it would be hard to fit in all the dialouge for one shot, well, on the shot, you know what I mean? Great suggestion, though, I may try it out soon. DSR -
Hey guys, DSR here! I've been gearing up for a big comic, but unfortunately, this is only the prequel. The real big one will be up in the next week or so with any luck. Been busy with school and Band. Have a competition Saturday, and we've just barely finished learning our street percussion song. Anyway, on to the comic. This is only a taste of this comic, I'll try to get the rest up soon. It's late and I've got a full schedule the next 2 days. By the way, ACES stands for Advanced Clone Engineer Squad. They're comprised of five members currently, one of them is Commander Kraine. They are master fixers and builders, and have quite an arsenal. Canyon Outpost, Tatooine Home of the ACES Advisor: Jack will be there soon. You have your orders. Defend that outpost until he arrives! Kraine: Understood, advisor. Kraine out. Kraine: You two, get to the central canyon hangar, and wait for the Wolfen. Both: Understood. Kraine: Looks like a good time to test out the heavy weapons. Kraine: Heh, this should be interesting... Wish I could post more right now, but I need sleep for school tomorrow. We have to march for the homecoming game. Freakin' Homecoming. Who even goes to those anymore? Hope you guys liked this taste of whats to come. I'll try and get more up in my Engineering class tomorrow, if we're not doing much. DSR EDIT: Wow, I can't believe it's already the end of December. Im sorry, I promised this would be updated within a week, but its been 2 months. Well, here's the next installment: Clone: Go go go! Open fire! Eat hot plasma ya bucket of bolts! Go for the leader! Take out that SBD! Kraine: Time to work this thing! Wait, wha- Clone: I got him guys! Watch out! Oh cra- Agh! Kraine: Damn shinies! Never know what they're doing! Target that SbD before he rips us apart with that STAP! Jack: Raaagh! Taste the heat of my blade droids! Kraine: Jack! Finally, your just in time! Jack: Yeah! Take that! Hah! Yeah! Haha, it feels good to get into the heat of battle! Kraine: Oh crap. Jack: What? Oh crap! (whoosh) Clone1: Where'd he go? Clone2: Did he just TELEPORT? Kraine: I think so, just take out that tank! Kraine: Look out for those turrets! Clone: Agh, im hit! Help! Kraine: Hold on! Im sure Jack's coming back! Jack: Hya! Droid Pilot: Uh Oh- (Slice) Haha, take that ya bucket of scrapmetal! Hah! Kraine: Well perfect, now what do we do with it? Jack: Hmm.... Jack: How's that? Kraine: Uh, better. Jack: Lets head inside. Kraine: Holo message coming through, standing by to recieve. Advisor: Good work holding them off Commander Kraine. I see General Sisco has arrived safely. Jack: That I have. And I whooped some metal megablocks, I might add. Advisor: Good to hear. General, there is someone waiting to see you in the main Hangar with the Wolfen. I suggest you go and meet them right away. Jack: Very well. I will see to it immediately. Advisor: Excellent. I will pass the news of your arrival on to the Jedi Council. Advisor out. (End transmission.) Jack: Alright, lets see who's waiting for me. Oh, and can you have your team start the repairs on the Wolfen? Getting here was living hell, it's pretty thrashed. Kraine: Of course, sir. My team will get it running better then new. Jsck: I've heard good things about your team. Im sure they will do excellent repairs. Now, lets get to the hangar. No time to lose, they could strike again at any moment. TO BE CONTINUED I won't make any promises this time around, but I do plan on continuing this series. BTW, all these pictures were taken in October, so apologies if their somewhat crappy. Anyway, I hope you've enjoyed it so far! C&C welcome as always. DSR

My Custom SW Characters
Dark Sword Ragnarok replied to Dark Sword Ragnarok's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Yeah, I'm partial to Krain and 214. Thanks for the comments! DSR -
Actually, the original Star Fox was on the NES, then on the Super NES. Then there was one that was never released until recently on the internet in the form of an emulator game for PC, and the japan-only one. THEN there was the one for N64, then Adventure and Assault on the Gamecube, and most recently, Command for the DS. Hopefully one will be released for the Wii. But, most likely not. Shh... I was going to include that in a comic, but you ruined the surprise.... oh well, this is what was going to be said: Hink: I'm loving this new ship, Jack! Jack: Great, I'm glad you're enjoying one of the ACES masterpieces! Hink: There's only one small problem with it. Jack: What's that? Hink: That astromech keeps telling me to do a barrel roll for some strange reason. It annoys the hell out of me. Jack: At least it's not yelling "use the brakes" or "press Z or R twice" or something. Hink: What? Jack: ......Nevermind, Hinckley. I don't have enough parts in the original colors. Besides, it looks like it fits in ore with the SW theme with these colors. Thanks for the comments! DSR

Taking pics of minifigs?
Dark Sword Ragnarok replied to Dark Sword Ragnarok's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Thanks for all the help guys! As it turns out, all I needed was a smaller surface (Moved from my desk to my dresser) the light more overhead (as opposed to coming in from the left side) and using the zoom much, much more. All these things made them turn out exceptionally clear. Check them out on my flickr if you get a chance. Link in my sig! Thanks again, everyone! DSR -

Taking pics of minifigs?

Thanks for the tips! I'll try the timed shot. My camera does have a focusing beam, I'll try that too. My camera has a 4x optical zoom, is that enough? DSR -
Taking pics of minifigs?
Dark Sword Ragnarok replied to Dark Sword Ragnarok's topic in General LEGO Discussion
LOL. Haven't gotten a chance to try yet, sorry. I doubt it. I'm only using the overhead lights on my fan(there's only 3 bulbs, angled towards the walls) and a small lamp because the overheads are yellowish and don't give off enough light. I don't shine the light directly on it, it's set so it shines over the large paper stock I'm using. My Canon doesn't have a flower on it. Is that the macro, though? If so, I'm going to try it soon. Been busy all day. Thanks for the tips so far, guys! DSR -

Taking pics of minifigs?
Dark Sword Ragnarok replied to Dark Sword Ragnarok's topic in General LEGO Discussion
A) Yeah, I am using the auto focus. Only thing is, it doesn't want to focus on anything! It focuses on other things just fine, I checked. B) Check my most recent pictures on Flickr, link in my sig, it gives you full camera specs. C) I do, and I do use zoom. But when I zoom, the quality goes to crap. It isn't the camera, I tried multiple cameras, and have nearly the same problems. I'm assuming the main problem is me. DSR -
Hey guys, DSR here, in need of some help! No matter what camera I use, I can't seem to get a clear, crisp shot of any minifig. So, I assume it isn't the camera. I'm also using a tripod and a hard surface, no flash, with overhead and one side lights (cieling light and a bendy-neck lamp). I'm also using a white background. Why the hell do my pics turn out so crappy? The camera is completely still, so that can't be the problem. No camera I've used wants to focus on minifigs! (My dad's kodak, don't know what model, and my new Canon (not sure what model, can find out quickly if necessary) What I need to know is, what am I doing wrong? Any tips, guys? I have some great custom figs I'm dying to share, but not until I know the pics are perfect. I also have a similar clearness problem with the color red (namely, the Wolfen). Please help me out! Thanks in advance, DSR

Maybe..... Well, yeah. Anyway, thanks for looking! More coming definately soon! DSR

Thanks Hinckley (Holy crap, can't believe I spellled it wrong, feel free to correct it! So sorry!) Here's an inspiration pic: And you're right, you do look badass, and do make a compliment in any MOC. And you DO look like you've got some cleavage, but whatever. Look at your hairdo insead! Thanks a lot everyone, expect a lot more from mee soon! DSR

Thanks for such a quick post, pr0visorak! I made it this color scheme because I have a crapload of parts in these colors and it sits better with the SW theme. DSR

Hey all! DSR here, with something new! My latest MOC, The Arwing Mark 1. (I say mark one because I'm sure I will mod it later. ) It has many of the Starfox attributes, like the moving wings, dual repeating laver cannons underneath the ship, and the G-Diffusers on the back( in-game, the blue part). I decided, since I came across a Hinkley head, he would be a perfect Jedi pilot for this. My Hinkley has a custom cape made from a Magnaguard cape, folded and cut extra holes and used permanent marker to make the shoulder pad things. Hope you like your Star Warsy, suave self, Hink! I would also like to dedicate this MOC to someone. His name is Eric, and he was just 19 years old when just this tuesday, he fell asleep at the wheel whild driving to work, and was involved in a deadly collision with an oak tree. His funeral was Saturday. Sadly, there was no body, because the car set on fire. I only knew him because my little sister is friends with his sister. Eric, you will always be in our hearts, and we will never forget you. Here's some pics, before you go to my Flickr. Hope you enjoy! Also, I hope to star dedicating all my big MOC's to people, or other things. DSR EDIT: Got rid of the poll because no one bothered to vote anyway. Hope you enjoy!

An statue question?
Dark Sword Ragnarok replied to darkrebellion's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
What the hell? Why would they do that? They're destroying memerobilias made with their own product? That's just sick, IMO. DSR
