  1. No, not all of them, only the first wave. But still, you know, good to see them someplace that doesn't try to rip you off just because they get everything first, and they know they get everything first, so they think they can charge $70 for the Hoth base and get away with it just because they KNOW THEY CAN. WATCH HOW THEY LAUGH AT YOU DURING CHECKOUT. Ok. rant over.
  2. Yes, I think so... I found them in my local Target too, so I guess that's the new place to go to right now.
  3. Yeah, but not of pizza...
  4. I think that we can pretty much conclude this is a prototype, being that the set has been released in some areas and there is no trace of this mystery figure...
  5. Ehh, it's fine Nice review. You added a bunch of things (Sticker sheet, more in-build pics) which I realized my review missed... Looking forward to the larger sets to help save this line!
  6. Haven't posted in my review in a while, but I can't help it but post just to agree with you I'm kinda pissed that Lego seems to be sacrificing set design for minifig detail. I understand that set design might be impacted by the high prices this year (Designers allowed fewer pieces in a set, etc) but still... it would just be nice to have both
  7. Sorry, but I'm really not impressed. I agree with whoever said before me that Lego needs to focus on their non-licensed lines more (Forgot to quote, oops.) I may not have grown out of Lego, but I sure have grown out of Cartoon Network and Disney stuff. All these other licenses mean less space for other themes. The only bright side i can see to this right now is the fact that if I'm not buying as many themes, I have more money for the ones I do buy. Kinda want to see the sets before I make a final judgement, but so far this is a
  8. Nice! I like how you carried out the idea you'd mentioned earlier in the review... Very good, especially for LDD... It is a bit blocky but it gives it that good classic civilian look. The only suggestion I could make is to find something to fill in those holes in the technic beams. I haven't done much on LDD so I couldn't suggest a particular way, but it seems like that would be the last gripe about the original model that hasn't been fixed here. Again, great work!
  9. Not really sure, maybe only the Academy approved ones are getting posted up there not?
  10. No, it's pretty sturdy. I just turned it upside down and shook the megabloks out of it, and nothing came off. Still though, I feel like there are still other sets out there right now for the same price that you'd be better off getting. Sorry, but the word is that these won't be showing up in the UK as of now... :frown: As of right now, no. But we still haven't gotten any look as Max Security transport, so there's still some hope for you
  11. Yeah, you're right... now that I see it, a magnet would have worked perfectly. Props for you. Actually sounds like a pretty good crazy idea... I'd definitely like to see some more space civilians. I was't happy with it, so I didnt include it in the review, but here it is. Remember, I attached the cockpit down a hole too far, it's actually level on the accurate model. Anyone else hear all those children scream out as soon as I added this picture?
  12. Set: Gold Heist Number: 5971 Theme: Space Police 3 Price: $19.99USD ($21.99-$25.99TRU) Welcome to my first review! Today we'll be taking a look at one of the new Space Police 3 sets, Gold Heist. Is it worth the long trip to TRU, and the even more difficult trip through the store's mark-ups to get this set? Or should Frenzy and his arms be left on the shelf? Read on to find out! The Box: On the front of the box, we see a good overview of the set, with Frenzy running from either the officer or the choking hazard warning. I'll let you decide. Artwork is well done and appealing. The back of the box focuses on the play features as usual. Nothing we haven't seen before. After a particularly violent struggle (Which I won, I'd like you to know) the box is opened and the unnumbered bags, instructions, and DSS spill out. Bags opened The most interesting non-minifig piece in the set is the trans-dark blue windshield, which so far had only been seen in trans-clear (I think?) The black fin is not new to lego, but has only just begun to come up in system sets. The gold bar is nice, but nothing we have not already seen from the Agents line. The minifigs! Officer has printing on both sides and his legs, while Frenzy has printing on front and back only. His extra arms/head bust fit snugly onto the head pole, and his mouth can fit lightsaber blade sized pieces like spears and viking horns. I'm a bit disappointed by the officer's lack of an air tank in this set, much like the one in Squidman escape. It's not like he couldn't have fit inside the ship with it, so I see no excuse for this. Random instruction page You first build Frenzy's scooter thing. I wasn't particularly impressed by this, and it seems to much like an afterthought, looking more like the ejector seat of a ship rather than something stand-alone. His height makes it look a bit awkward as well. Next part of the build is the officer's ship. Here's a picture of the build a little before halfway... looks a lot like the Exo-Force Storm Lasher without the fans at this point. And the completed model! Note that although the cockpit does not close right in several of these pictures, it's due to an error in my building, and that it does in fact close all the way. The famous leftover shot. Always nice to have some extra cheese slopes. The front of the ship, sorry for the slight blurriness. The flick fires come off, and can be used as guns for the officer. (Not shown here, sorry) Top view. Back thruster design is nice, although I would have appreciated some trans-dark blue round pieces in the back, as is implied by the box art. A nice feature is that it opens up both on top and in the front. However, this makes the cockpit extremely non-airtight on the sides, and it may be difficult to change this without having to compromise half of the opening feature. The controls piece is a sticker. All four engines can swivel. For some reason, this gives the ship the feeling of some type of futuristic helicopter. The mechanism that detaches and holds the safe works well enough, but I cannot help but feel that Lego, in their infinite wisdom, could have devised a more elegant connector using clips. The safe is a weak point, being a bit open on the sides. It's also much larger than it needs to be to carry two gold bars, which is about as much as it can hold. Final Overview Final Thoughts Minifigs: 8/10 -- Four Arms is very nice and the droid arms do not bother me, but the officer needs an airtank. His back printing helps make up for this, though. Parts: 6/10 -- The windshield is beautiful in blue, but there are no other special parts to speak of. No non-minifig printed pieces. Build: 7/10 -- There is technic, but not too much. Nothing especially hard about the build. Design: 6/10 -- Non-airtight cockpit, overcomplicated container. Can be made much nicer with just a few white plates and cheese slopes. Thruster are very nice. Price/Piece Ratio: 9/10 -- I paid $21 dollars for it, which, considering the TRU and TLC mark-ups for this year, is very good for 205 pieces. Final: 37/50 -- 74/100 I kind of liked it, but not as much as I thought I would. It's an okay set, I think I was expecting a bit more, but my positive thoughts about the line still haven't changed. I hope you enjoyed my review. Can't wait for the bigger wave of Space Police sets! Finding his stubby clawlike hands to small and weak to flick the giant rocket in his gun, Officer Faramir goes Medieval. One last thing, could an admin please add a 1-5 poll to this if possible? Thanks.
  13. Still? I think I fixed all of the oversize ones to 800 x 600... Isn't that size allowed?
  14. Thanks! Fixed those pics... when will I learn? As for the windscreen, I hadn't even tried to make it open. I'd figured it was too small to, but maybe I'll go back to it later I tried doing this with a few colors, but they all clashed with the orange, which I kinda wanted to keep. Good suggestion though.
  15. Some of you may remember this MOC that I posted a while ago: Wanting to do something in the same \"theme\" I made another ship to go along with it. This time I tried to make something smaller and more intricate, and I feel pretty happy with it Basic Overview: Front View Back View Side View Cockpit With pilot Comments and criticisms encouraged and accepted as always, thanks for looking! http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=382398 Folder, when public.
  16. Never done a trade on here before, but I might be interested in some of these if you're in the US...
  17. I'm almost positive they would have no problems sacrificing one of their own right beforehand so that they could keep their evil number
  18. I've just checked for the first time, and it turns out I have 666 minifigs. I thank you for warning me that I'll wake up tonight to find myself being overwhelmed by tiny little plastic hands gripping my throat as one giant demonic mob. I think I'll lock myself in the crawl now.
  19. Aww, dammit, I thought it was a good deal when i got the Drill Walker for $52 just last week $30 Grievous looks good though, and so does the Infiltrator... Thanks for the info
  20. Snow day today, had time to build something, so I decided to try my hand at a steampunk MOC. Here it is! Pilot is just a Naboo Fighter Pilot with that Power Miners head, which works surprisingly well... Overhead view Looks strong enough to stand up to anybody! Well, maybe not anybody... Hope you enjoyed it, comments and criticisms are welcome as always! PS Sorry that the bricks look dirty, didn't even notice that before the flash showed me...
  21. Looks very good! as for the SNOT parts, I would actually suggest not making them with SNOT... it seems like it would be easier (and cleaner looking) to just do the cheese slopes facing up.
  22. What I do is a type of rotation. I obviously can't fit it all, so when I run out of room, I take some of the either older (or somewhat less-loved) sets and take them apart. These days I choose to sort the bricks, but you could just find some kind of large storage container for loose bricks. Hope I helped

    Misprints

I could be wrong, as I don't have the set, but I'm pretty sure that that's REX's head and it's supposed to be that way. I think this might be what you're talking about.
  24. Count me in, can't wait to get building!
  25. Maybe Power Miners is to be just a subtheme of a much broader underground series? Sounds possible...
