I agree with others; I'm especially impressed by the Dwarf and Troll factions--I've been meaning to stock up on these myself before it's too late. But so far, I've been neglectful. I will attempt to get pictures up of my own armies in the next week or so--maybe after the Inauguration. ~Medievalego~

Bricklink, for as frustrating as it may be at times (especially for new users unfamiliar with the system), is a vast improvement over what was available only ten years ago (rec.toys.lego). I am so happy about where the growth of the internet and spread of access and better speeds have taken collecting LEGO. Things are pretty good right now :) ~Medievalego~

I was thinking the same thing, only for the existing Troll / Orcs in Castle ... they sort of remind me of the 'berserker' helmets from LOTR Two Towers. I'm going to stock up :)

Great intro :) One thing I'm wondering after reading it is, how many (if any) other members insure their collections? I'm pretty sure my own is worth a pretty penny, but I wasn't sure how difficult it would be to ensure it. Should really start a new topic about this. :) ~ Medievalego ~

So I guess someone's already mentioned it, but seriously ... I can't say I'm a fan of the new palm trees (especially the base)--it reminds me greatly of MEGABLOKS ... and I loathe the MEGABLOKS ... *shudders* Also, even the color palette tones remind me more of MBs than LEGO ... they seem duller in several instances, which I find to be a characteristic of MBs when I'm sorting out used lots. And, in the fort set ... do the soldiers not come with packs? That's just awful. Though the individual impulse set does come with one correct? Maybe I'm just nostalgic, but a couple of the changes do not appear to have been for the better--even if it is great to get the line back :) ~ Medievalego ~

Fantastic ... too many things to comment on; as others have said, the water wave and foam effects are spectacular; I like the unusual angle of the rocks (this is esp. impressive to me since I would have no idea going about recreating this effect); the hammock; the use of the islander legs ... the whole thing is great. Very nice. I too appreciate the bloody entrails etc. Quite creative, if violent. Also, I like the troll with the Asian style hat. That looks great--and the blood detail on the sword. Also, the use of the bionicle pieces ... like the one root ... just great touches. Nice work! ~ M ~
