  1. Does anyone else think that the Rock Raiders monster somewhat resembles Clayface? If TLC doesn't do him in a licensed set, one could use that instead...
  2. These are so extremely preliminary, I really can't say anything about it yet. The jungle cutter is something I'd never expect in an Indy movie, but I suppose I'll reserve judgement until the movie, etc. Guesses are they'll include Shia LeBoeuf, Cate Blanchett and John Hurt (maybe Ray Winstone?) in minifig form. Though I didn't see any blonde lady figs in those pics. Hmm. Too bad Hurt didn't get an Ollivander minifig in the Potter line. That would've made him square with Harrison Ford and Alfred Molina (and maybe Mark Hamill if we count the Joker) in having 2 minifigs based on him. IF we indeed DO get a John Hurt minifig this time, that is.
  3. Hahaha perfect summary, Sinner! Apart from Batman Begins, for me. Of course, Bale pales to Keaton. Caine is a great actor but just doesn't come close to my picture of Alfred. But what BB did is make a fastmoving film about Batman. Sadly it took away some of the mythology (everything has to be technical and realistic in BB, blegh). But the supporting cast impressed me (Neeson, Oldman... and yes I have a weakness for misses Tom Cruise). And the overall story, connecting the origins of Batsy with Ra's Al Guhl, Scarecrow and Jim Gordon was to my liking as well. Nevertheless - each is entitled to his/her own opinion of course. :-) (And I agree that The Perfect Batman Film still does not exist.)
  4. It is an extremely cool machine, it just doesn't fit my idea of 'Batman'. :-$ I very much like the atmosphere of the second Tim Burton film. Of course the special effects could be better, but I very much like the Burton Batman world. Try to imagine the Tumbler in that. See what I mean? So yes, I agree that the Tumbler is an awesome vehicle. I even like Batman Begins and see it as the best Batman movie so far. But if Tim Burton would come back and make another Batman film now, with modern techniques, a faster moving script and Depp as the Joker instead of Nicholson, that'd be geek heaven for me.
  5. The Tumbler was the reason I did NOT go to see Batman Begins in cinemas. :P But I suppose I've forgiven the people responsible and am OK with it now. Still, I have to agree with CF WeaZZel - nothing beats the Batmobile from the Animated Series in my opinion!
  6. Going through my Dark Ages from January 2003 to October 2007, I missed all the Prisoner of Azkaban and Goblet of Fire sets. I would've liked Dementors, Buckbeak, Lupin, Sirius, Wormtail, Moody, Krum and Neville... But to buy them now means either picking up the now quite expensive full sets online, or getting the minifigs online - also for a lot of money. Blegh.
  7. Just think of the skeletons as dead Hovito's. There we go, Hovito problem solved. Wait... Even I myself don't buy that. We want Hovito's!
  8. Banned or not, I wanna thank indylego. :-$ Still curious for the flipside of her face, though. Blue eyes... That's new. Lovin' it so far!
  9. Naturally the recycled faces bother me, *yoda* . Would you have been happy with the Han Solo face for Indy? And that could have been considered a defendable move. But Belloq and Malfoy are not alike at all, so giving him the same face kind of bugs me. Like it did when they used the 'movie star' face for Norman Osborn in the first Spider-Man line. And if they were going for the recycle route anyway, why not use the Grand Moff Tarkin face? Seems like a much more logical choice to me. Of course you're right that this is a fairly minor gripe, but I wanted to vent it anyway. The Indy sets in general and lots of their details make me "giddy like a schoolboy". *y*
  10. Earlier this month we had some info telling us Jock the pilot was ditched, now HE's in the pic but the HOVITO is out. Weird business. And are they going cheap on smacking Bruce Wayne's face on ALL secondary characters now? On all nazi's I would understand, but on Satipo as well? That's .... uninspired. As is the choice to recycle the new Draco Malfoy head for Belloq, if you ask me. Hmpf. Guess we can't complain too much. I'm curious for Marion's non-scared face.
  11. Regarding Hinckley, I wanna imitate the moment when Belloq leaves Indy in the Well of Souls: "Hahaaa, you son of a brick!" I'm almost jalous. So apart from possibly the Greatest Lego Set Ever (the boulder scene from Raiders), the Indy line now also has the Greatest Minifig Ever (obviously Connery)?! Awesome! Gheh, I really picked the right moment to come out of my Dark Ages. Can't wait to get that very very very good Connery face. Indy doesn't seem to disappoint either. Bring on 2008! *y* Of course, credits to The Man: great review and pics Hinckley. Thanks. :-)
  12. Where do you go to (my lovely) - Peter Sarstedt On YouTube, with a non-official videoclip but including the full version of the song: I heard this song in the short film Hotel Chevalier, also viewable on YouTube in 4 parts. Featuring Natalie Portman, Jason Schwartzman and said lovely song. :-)
  13. Seriously? ONE HUNDRED dollars? Someone got Punk'd, man... Heavily. Now let them leak pictures of Marion, Belloq, Jock and Satipo. I wanna know what all those figs look like! Of course, I'm gonna buy all sets no matter what. But still. I'm curiouuus!
  14. Gheh, yeah, good assessment on the no-Temple-of-Doom-sets-yet idea, Belloq. But Lego never had much trouble with an arm-severing, his-own-sister-kissing jedi, so I guess we'll see ToD sets in the future. Heck, if they can find a solution to NAZI's, I'm sure they can solve the evil cult problem. The Club Obi-Wan scene at the beginning and the raft sequence can easily be Legofied. No one would be offended by that. AND it could include Willy and Short Round. A set with Mola Ram and two kali guards in a temple doesn't seem too problematic to me either. They've flirted with the same kind of characters and setting in past Adventurers sets. As long as they don't include child slaves or heart-rippings, I'd say even ToD can safely be Legofied.
  15. Awesome! TLC absolutely nailed (excusez le mot) Sean Connery! I love love love love looove that face! As for the nazi... I'd never pass up a chance to score Bruce Wayne's face in a cheap set, so count me in! Yay! So far, TLC seems to deliver greatly on their Indy line. Bring on 2008! Wooohooo! *feels the slight sting of a needle, swirls around, looks at someone saying "Calm down, mister Spielbrick!" and passes out*
  16. Thanks, Sir trooperdavinfelth. Guess I can uncross my fingers for a gummi Ki-Adi Mundi head
  17. Are there screenshots of these Jedi to be found online? I'd love to see an 'official' minifig Ki-Adi Mundi.
  18. As a first year film student, I have less spare time than I'd like. But in the time I do have, I'm working on a short brickfilm. 'Baron Honeymint and the Keys of Death' will be about (you've guessed it) baron Honeymint in his quest for the keys of Death. Some early photos of characters and hopefully soon locations / vehicles / other stuff can be found at my FlickR site: http://www.flickr.com/photos/spielbrick/
  19. What do you mean, you can't use it for OT? Put the vehicles and Shadow Trooper away in a drawer and what remains is pure OT. Stormtroopers and for the first time ever Rebel Troopers! Looking EXACTLY like they did in the beginning of the original film. How OT can it get if this is not it, I wonder?
  20. APART from Star Wars (of which my first was the Tatooine Landspeeder), it's either Harry Potter and Quirrell with the Stone or, if we're going less strict, a set of Dutch football team minifigs at Shell. Nowadays, almost all Lego I buy is from a license. Those and Castle. Yup. :-)
  21. The happiest of birthdays to the both of you, sirs!
  22. Yeah, if anyone deserves a special Arkham cell it's Victor Fries! Cool idea, jedikermit. Fingers crossed it's what TLC has thought up as well!
  23. Batman's Buggy: The Escape of Mr. Freeze That setname has me thinking... Escape from what? (Who said New York? :-P) If he escapes from JAIL, we might get to see a certain Commissioner very soon after all! Of course this is wishfull thinking on my part. But the theory sounds solid enough to me. :-$
  24. Apart from the Batmobile and Arkham, I found none of the Batman sets so far very appealing. Which is why I ordered the three magnet sets. Because one thing they did extremely right is the character design. Man, I love those minifigs! I'm thinking about ordering Arkham for Christmas. But yeah, the vehicles are huge. Bet on the Tumbler to be of the same scale, mate. If it's otherwise done well, I might get tempted though.
  25. Maybe Joker's ice cream "surprise" is the surprise of a new villain hitching along? That'd be great. But oh well. Let's just give Harley Q and the Tumbler our lovin' until we got pics to get picky about.
