Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion
Sam892 replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
This series for me at least, has been the easiest to feel through the packages. Every Character has a very inique feel to them. It certainly makes collecting them all a lot easier, only missing Peter Pan now.- 4,155 replies

Hi everyone I've decided its time to sell my 2012 Con exclusive figures. I'm selling both Black Suit Spider-man and Phoenix, both come still attached to the cards they were given out on. They've nether been played with, are in perfect condition and come from a smoke free home. Both have just spent the last 4 years in storage away from UV light. I'm looking for £175 each not including postage, and I'm willing to post worldwide. Thanks Sam

They wouldn't have needed to invest resources towards Buzz and the Pizza Planet Alien since those molds already existed (alien head, Buzz Helmet, Buzz jet Pack and Wings). They only thing they needed for those characters were new prints which wouldn't cost much. In fact I guessing the only reason we got 18 figures is because they could make those teo for so little.- 4,155 replies

Batman v Superman v Captain America Civil War
Sam892 replied to Marvelfan120's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I have to kind off echo the idea of DC copying Marvel slightly. But lets be honest the two companies have always copied each other. Hawkeye is a copy of Green Arrow Thanos is a copy of Darkseid Deadpool started out very very, similar to Deathstroke Bucky is a copy of Robin The list goes on, and it does go both ways. I'am likely however the differences in Tone between the MCU and the DCU though. Age of Ultron while very funny, suffered from having humour in what should be serious moments. Due to that I'm looking forward to a more serious movie in BvS. It keeps it fresh and ultimately helps both companies out, you can have darker DC and more happy go lucky Marvel. We've had 8 years of happy go lucky so Darker feel might be a welcome change. There are problems, I hate Doomsday (as I do most 90's crap) and having Aquaman and Wonder Woman shoe horned in is worrying. But it could be great. Civil War looks great too and its certainly more serious looking, but again theres a lot of new characters who we haven't really seen. Marvel might have the same problem as DC, they're introducing Black Pantherplus bringing back Scarlet Witch and Vision who we haven't felt much time with, plus Antman who despite having a great solo outing not everyone saw. Oh and Spider-man is joining the world. Thats a lot of cogs that have to fit in place. -
For the 2nd series ( If we recieve one) I'd personally love to see: Hercules ( probably with a sword or a vase with his head printed on the side) Hades ( no Accessory but with 2 heads and Flame pieces the first in blue with 2 faces the second in Red with angry expressions) Dash ( with a 2nd place silver trophy) Violet ( with a couple of blue disks for forcefields) Goofy ( no really sure for an accessory ) Max ( skateboard. Did Max have skateboard?) Flick ( leaf telescope) Pluto Belle Beast Mulan Woody ( with standard head) Jessie ( with standard head) Jafar Jasmine Baymax Snow White Prince Eric

I think its more to due with A) no new molds needed to produce Buzz B) one of the most marketable Disney characters whos appeal spreads across multiple generations. Its probably why theres no Woody this series as he would most likely need a new hat mold, if their sticking with this standard head look. I really like the way LEGO have kept the molded heads to just Anthropomorphic Animal Characters. Gives the Human characters more function outside of Disney, although that Donald Duck head could make an awesome Howard the Duck. Especially if my seperate hat theory is correct.- 4,155 replies

Is it possible that both Micky and Minnie as well as Daisy and Donald share the same head mold? Those heads look identical leading me to believe the prints are unique, and the hats are separate removable pieces.- 4,155 replies

The daily mail promo is very interestin, I'm guessing the Star wars polybag will be Poe's X-wing and the Superhero ones will be the BvS batmobile and Venom symbiote ones. The polybag promos have certainly decrease in number each year. There used be 2 or 3, but just a single one can be disappointing if its a duff colection.

What is the worst movie/game/song you ever seen/play/heard ?
Sam892 replied to YellowCorvette's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Worst Movie: There's so many contenders for me personally but I think I'll have to go with Green Lantern. Its so cliché, dull and forgetable that it fails in every aspect. To me its worse than films like Batman and Robin or Superman 4, since those films are so laughable that their watchable. That Green Lanturd is just a giant stain on the comic book movie genre. Worst game: This is a tough one as I can't really recall many awful games I've played. The only one that comes to mind is Saints row 4. I really enjoyed the previous installments, and found number 4 last week reduced to just £8.50. I loved the over the top humor of 3, and the first mission of 4 is amazing. Its a parody of Zero Dark Thirty and it ends with you jumping on to the side of a Nuke and disabling it, by hand while its flying towards Washington. Oh and while your holding on to this thing Aerosmith's don't want to miss a thing blasts through the speakers, which is an awesome start to a game. From there it just takes a huge downward spiral, from what I can tell so far you spend the rest of the majority of the game in the matrix, after being captured by aliens who destory earth. Then in this version you get dragged to Hell by Satan to marry his daughter. Its just way too ridiculous now, I loved the saints being these overtop characters in a grounded world. Now its just a parody of itself, its gone so far that its lost its charm. Worst Song: I can't really think of one of the top of my head but at a push I really hate Blurred Lines, or maybe just Robin Thicke. Like not just his music but just him....... as a human................. literally everything about him. -
Hyperion has made several notable appearences in the Avengers Assemble cartoon on Disney XD. He's one of the reoccurring villains. In fact all of the Justice League rip offs (Squadron Supreme) have appeared as villains on the show. So far he's made around 9 appearances in the show. So it seems there pushing that character big time, (I even think he's getting a solo comic). Unlike Scareface and Ventriloquist who have had almost zero exposure in the past few years.

This year was a bery kind off in the middle year for me. While there were two amazing films ( Mad Max and Kingsman ) everything else was just pretty good. Avengers was ok, as was furious 7, chappie, jurrassic world, MI5, ect. Spectre was a huge let down with extremely bizarre unnecessary twists. Antman was pretty good but was predictable. All in all just safe 4 star films, with the exception of Mad Max there was no 5 star amazing blockbusters. Star Wars was amazing but it was so safe and predictable it didn't quite make 5 stars for me. Hateful eight and Creed are just about to be released here so I hope they are amazing. To be honest this seemed to be the year of flops and let downs Hitman, Fantastic Four, Terminator, Pixels..... It was the year of reboots, and sequels with such uninspired storys. 2016 looks pretty hopeful kicking off with Deadpool.

LEGO has done this a lot recently with DC sets. The Darkside Invasion, Brainiac Attack and Black Manta set have all been discontinued 1 year after being released. I hope this isn't the start of a new trend with superhero LEGO sets.

Might be just my nearest Tescos but, they have a load of large LEGO sets with significant reductions. They two that stick out are Avengers tower £40 and Joker Land £65.
-
Would LEGO be able to enforce that? There not watermarked images or prototype images, but images of a finished product out in the world somewhere. The person who has this either works or knows someone, in the LEGO chain somewhere between design team and shop assistant. I doubt this set was obtained illegally, so I can't see LEGO being able to enforce image removals.

She doesn't require a new mold really. I mean Adam West Batman could have used a new mold but LEGO used the best out of what they had. With printing and a colour change on the existing Batgirl cowl LEGO could easily get enough of a likeness for it to pass. It wouldn't be the first time they made the best out of existing parts, just look at Man of Steel Superman, 2008 Tumbler Batmans cowl, Peter Venkman's original hair, ect.

I'm guessing the only reason for the stud wall is to reenact them walk up walls. At least thats what I think that rope is for. But ye the studs do reduce the beauty of the set.

Why are people complaining about having to use spoiler tags, its barely an inconvenience. Its not like their hard to put in. Also going to see a movie a midnight or within the first 2 weeks of release doesn't make you a did hard fan. Many people have other things that take priority, like work commitments, school and Universities, families and also having to organise christmas. Back to LEGO, I'm looking forward to getting the wookie gunship micro fighter. I might build a small wookie army to rebel against my empire.

Hi everyone, first off My Slave one arrived a few weeks ago and I finally got round to building it. Its amazing, I really have to thank you all again for recommending it. I do have one question though regarding the Boba Fett figure and his arm printing. Mine has metalic yellow printing on his knees and his left shoulder, but standard yellow on his right shoulder ( the guard with the Manolorian logo ). Is he meant to look like this? Does anyone else have the same colouring or is mine mis printed? He looks a bit odd to be honest and having looked at him in TESB and ROTJ he has matching arms. -
I'm quite suprised at all the hate for the Battle damaged Stormies. I personally think its nice to get a variation instead of the usually plain white. I'm sure Lego will give us more Plain white 2014 variations in the future. Even if you didn't want to have your army looking beat up, you could always use those battle damaged ones as dead stormies.

Ok you guys have convinced me, I've ordered the UCS Slave. Thanks to everyone for you recommendations. -
If the Carbon freezing Chamber does connect to another set, I would assume that it might be the area Luke and Vader duel in.

I'm looking at getting the UCS Slave 1 this weekend, and was wondering what everyones general opinion is on it? Is it worth the hefty price tag? -
I don't think Fox and Trank were being PC at all when they cast Jordan in the role. I think it mainly comes down to two things, trank having worked with Jordan before, and the fact that he's seen as a good up and coming actor. In reality the FF have had so many different retcons, reboots, alternate universes and alternate timeline versions that there is no definitive version of the FF. A race change doesn't have to add anything to a characters story in order to be justified, i mean Nick Fury had a race change so has, Perry White and Harvey Dent the race change didn't add anything, but the actors chosen performed good in the role and thats what adds to the film. Its worth noting that other Characters get Whitewashed and barely anyone complains, Ras Al Ghul, The Mandarin, Bane, Talia al Ghul ect. If those characters were accurate then they would be Middle Eastern, Chinese or Latino, the race change to a western white character doesn't add anything at all. In fact people love Those portrails ( well maybe not Talia or the Mandarin, but the complaints about those characters aren't about race ).

Something else nostalgic, hmmmmmmm Well if its Batman it could be anything. Another 1966 set, a Batman 1989 set, a BTAS set or even something based of detective comics #27 from 1939. Maybe a UCS 66 or 89 batmobile? Is the second nostahlic set even Batman? Or could it be a christopher Reeve Superman set or maybe a 77 Wondef Woman set?
