Heroica RPG- Quest #103: Alfendi Lupine Strikes Again!
Scubacarrot replied to Kintobor's topic in The Heroica Archive
Guts takes the shiny sword with him and gives the room a once over for anything else remarkable, including opening the chest. He then turns to Alexandre again. "It's an expensive mushroom, sure, but not worth this 'master thief's' attention. I say we make use of it, before our enemies do. If you're not eating it, I am."- 500 replies

Guts inspects the mushroom, and cross references it with mushrooms he has seen or eaten before. If he doesn't turn up anything, he takes a small nibble to check it for poison. "You sure we should be taking everything that's not bolted down, Alexandre?"- 500 replies

Heroica RPG- Quest #96: Tying up Loose Ends
Scubacarrot replied to Scubacarrot's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Let me tell you a story. A story of five individuals passing through the boundaries of time and space for the sake of getting somewhere more quickly, and a story of me. They did this thing, and it happens to be that yours truly catches on. Being the entrepeneur that I am, just trying to get ahead, I forge a bond with the sods with a simple promise of power, wrapped in a pitiful story of loneliness and weakness. Of course they eat it up with both hands. Most of them, at least. Strivvi, the promised land of closure. Hah! What do they know? There is no vault filled with promises and wishes at the end of this chain, there is no door that opens that will reveal valuables and powerful artifacts, but I will tell you what it is that the Heroes you have been reading about will find. Me. I'm in that vault. I am at the end of the line. I am the cause for all the conflict in the Heroes path. I am their compass, their goal and their judge. So why am I doing all this? Is it freedom, power, simple fun, something darker? Perhaps it's none of those, or perhaps it is all of the above. The heroes quickly found themselves from a sunny morning in front of a Strivvian Mansion, back to the gloomy hall of pitiful Heroica. This will get reversed quickly enough, don't you worry. It's all part of the plan, dear listener, it's all part of the plan..." -
Heroica RPG- Quest #103: Alfendi Lupine Strikes Again!
Scubacarrot replied to Kintobor's topic in The Heroica Archive
"No need to be zealots about it, Arthur. I've met Count Shadeaux. He's just a man, and not a great one, at that. Let's go." Guts suddenly felt his Alchemical powers weakening, and got hit with a great feeling of annoyance. "Had you ever had it happen that someone went out of their way to cause inconvenience for you for no good sensible reason whatsoever. I hate it when that happens. Those kind of people SHOULD be spending their time making life better for those around them, make sure everything goes well and things happen fairly, but instead they waste it with pointless micromanaging." Guts shrugs. "Why are we still standing here, again?"- 500 replies

Heroica RPG - Expert Job Class Discussion
Scubacarrot replied to LEGOman273's topic in The Heroica Archive
Before, The Alchemist's Mixture roll was affected by the Lucky (and also the Jinxed effect), so that when an Alchemist lands a Shield, the die was then rolled four times. The highest two results would then be used to determine the outcome if the Alchemist was lucky, and the lowest two when Jinxed. For example: Previous Lucky Mixture Roll: Five, One, Six, One, Five and Six are Highest, Result is a Baffle Bomb (or something). Yeah right. -
Heroica RPG - Expert Job Class Discussion

So. While I was gone, why was my character, and only mine, for a good long while it seems like, nerfed for no reason? The Alchemist is not that good, it hasn't even been in action yet! Just because I picked it and Guts has the best weapon in the game does not mean I took it because it is the strongest class. (Regulator, I'm looking at you. If I could be... Joking... Joking...) I took it because it was the most fun class for me. It's really, really not. As an Alchemist, there is only a 2 in 6 chance you deal damage, and their damage dealing hits are nothing special, at all! Their Shield roll is by far their only and greatest attraction. The fact that Lucky has (had? ) such a unique effect on the Alchemist Shield Roll was what all the fun was about. Be lucky, get cool shit, basically! If you want to nerf stuff about the Alchemist, which you shouldn't, nerf the Miss roll. I am in the progress of loopholing it and breaking the economy (if you can call it that) of the game. Just saying. If this change goes through I'll think about choosing another class. Sandy, you instantly nerf a fun class into the ground after one person suggests it, while you ignore blatant problems that are continuously pointed out. That's my view of it, it's not good! PLEASE undo the nerf, Sandy. Thanks. I think Guts deserves some fun in his endeavors. I mean, how can you deny a guy like that anything? -

Guts groans as he climbs out of the carriage and joins the conversation, buckling under all the extra weight his companions have thrown at him. He also switches out his Pugilist's gloves for the Overkill Gloves, nodding towards Arthut's suggestion of sharing, and changes his Blessed Amulet for the Jester's Hat, instantly making Guts look... strangely intimidating? "Right. Non-violent thug with possibly-violent gang is after some collection in your mansion or surroundings. Now here's what I think. Bottles of wine, actually not very easy to conceal, however, a man that is attacks a place where fine wine is made and celebrated, is a criminal deserving only the lowest circle of hell. We'll make sure he, and anyone else is dealt with. One question: how sure are you, that you are dealing with the actual Alfendi Lupine?" Sorry for being late! My stats seem to be in order, except for the stuff Flipz already mentioned, thanks for having me! Does there need to be a party leader? You may remove the bigger picture from the stats next time though, if you'd like. The alchemist nods at the new hero, Lind. "That Amulet should bring you up to speed in no time. It's good to meet you, I'm Guts Holla. Captain of the Wind Thief and Raider, I mean, Alchemist in the service of Heroica." Guts chuckled to himself. "I do like introducing myself like that."- 500 replies
