Jedi Temple Mafia - Conclusion

Very cool for you to say that, thanks for that. -
Hey man, sometimes you got to flee, take some booze, and get back in.

Imagine my reaction like this:

Why exactly, if I may ask?

Jedi Temple Mafia - Conclusion
Scubacarrot replied to Masked Builder's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
So, my thoughts about the game: I will start with how I think I did myself: I don't think I did a particular good job, I think my performance in previous mafia games was better (on EB that is, you don't want to hear my drunk real life mafia card-game stories). Mostly because I gave up, twice. If I am ever going to sign up for a Mafia game again (I said this before, but yeah...) I will try to be more consistent, and have an actual strategy. I think I messed up a bit, especially when I went after paladathric. Another mistake on my part was that I was quite obviously a (vanilla) townie, this became clear on the first two days, I think, which limited the ways I could be helpful for the town in town-blocks and things like that, I don't think there were any though. I also did not communicate to others very much, I think I PM'ed one or two people myself, and a few others contacted me, and that was it, I think I will do more along the lines of this, next game. By far the worst thing I have done was ignoring evidence that was right in front of me: The fact that Tammo ignored half of what I said, what was (in my eyes, and still is in my eyes) solid evidence, that should have set alarm bells ringing from here to the end of the world. I also need to work on my playstyle, day thread writings a lot I think, I can see that how I play in this game was similair to IMHOTEP(where I was also vanilla town), but immensely different from Yakuza(where I was scum). The game itself: First off, thanks a lot for hosting, Masked Builder and K-Nut, I imagine it is a lot of work, and I hope it has been fun for you hosts. The Mocs were quite nicely presented, the use of the droid and the black stormtrooper as the killers was smart, as well as the change in method for the droid, I think you gave away just enough in the photo's (The exception was the photo that was too dark, but that may very well be my eyes, as others could see it clearly). The theme itself did not interest me personally very much, but that is very much a personal thing, something I knew when I signed up, I read up about my character, and that was it. Something I wondered though, why the characters you created yourself, were there not some more characters you could use in the star wars universe, if there are a few characters that are not canon, an overly paranoid mind like myself might look for something after that... Something I was not so happy about: the fact that the days were late most of the time, up to a few days late. I'm not an enforcer for the rules or anything, but I think if you take on the responsibility of hosting a game like this, you should do everything you can to make sure you are more or less on time. I respect the fact that you could have been busy, but still. I'm probably being bitchy, but it was quite annoying for me. On the point of the actual game mechanics: I don't think I have experience and/or knowledge to properly commentate on the balance of the game, the main reason the scum won was superior play, no doubt about it. Their Night actions were done smart, as is proven by killing me and paladathric, Flare had made himself fairly unbelievable in the town's eyes by his fairly incoherent accusations the last day, that were absolutely correct, but still, it did not seem that way. And me and paladathric would probably have been the ones to speak out against the lynch. The fact that so many roles were passed on after dead was a bit odd (was it the blocker and the janitor?) Unless that was the plan you had before the game started, you might not wanted to have done that, it is kinda unfair to the town, I think. As for the recruition of TBW to the scum, that was very odd to me when I read how it went, why was he given that choice? I don't get it. With the Shrink dead, should a serial killer not just be able to go on happily with his killing ways? This is most of what I wanted to say, I don't really see a point in going over how the game actually went, other than this game may have been the living proof that sheep only help the scum, there has been one scum that survived solely on the basis that other players were equally as inactive. It's one tactic, I guess. So anyway: Hats off and congratulations to the scum team, I think it's a deserved win, and thanks for letting me play. -
Guts flees.

I did not know, but yes, I guess that would have made a bit more sense. -

Because theoretically the town could have won: they reach 3 votes first against scum > 2 scum, 3 town, Nightkill, 2 scum, 2 town, again reach 2 votes first >1 scum, 2 town, nightkill > 1 scum, 1 town, person who votes first wins? So.... Yeah.... -
You are thinking way too practical for your own good.

I love the idea of being able to have a second character, but I don't think having them on the same quest would be a good idea, I think it would just be confusing, and weird.
-
"Take one each, I reckon we are going to need them. If there is a similair setup as last night, which I somehow doubt, I will go after the count, alright? And I suggest we try to talk, if at all possible, enough blood has been spilt for this bet. Let's go then." Guts does not wait for an awnser and heads to the Stone Garden.

The first one is Flare, the second one is... unappetizing-looking-white-chocolate-pretzel, do we have anyone named that?

FYI, Insulting players on a writeboard is probably a bad idea, because they are going to become public most of the time. Not impressed. -

I have a quite a bit to say about this game, not everything positive. Tammo, you did a great job, really, the scum did great converting you, the fact that you were really 'pro-town' on day 1 did a lot of good for you, and it helped you on the following days. On day 5 I should have had it figured out by then, but I did not. The fact that you ignored half of my valid points should have set me off greatly, but I honestly had pretty much stopped caring at that point. You played really dirty, so yeah, you did great. I'm going to go as far and say the scum would never in a million years have won without you. I'm reluctant to say anything about the game mechanics, because it will come off as a rant because I lost, which is partly true, but there is still some points I want to give my opinion on, I will do this later, when I had time to collect my thoughts. -
Heroica RPG - Expert Job Class Discussion

Not sure why he said Ziegfried, there has been quite a few of those, 3, 13, 14, 18 (kinda), 21 (not finished). There has only been 1 Ji-Pei quest (12), and 1 Shadeaux Quest (4) -
Something I've been wondering... Not sure if this is the best place for it or the QM's lounge, but anyway: If you have reputation with a faction, it means you are favoured, which means so much that you will have a better chance for getting into the faction's quest, and if it's the opposing faction, a worse chance? How is this done? Should the QM always first choose the players with the best reputation, or is it subjective?

Heroica RPG - Expert Job Class Discussion
Scubacarrot replied to LEGOman273's topic in The Heroica Archive
If I am honest, I don't think it really fits, I did give it a second look, but did not say anything about it because I thought the same thing as Sandy: Without it is just a more powerful version of a Mage. I am thinking of an alternative to healing, and haven't really thought of anything good yet, I was thinking along the lines of being able to summon extra allies at will... When I've got something, I'll be sure to say. -
Heroica RPG - Expert Job Class Discussion

Okay, I'm telling you now, Alchemist is what I want to play as, I think it fits great within Guts's roleplay, and I think it is one of the more fun expert classes so far too, I think. @UsernameMDM, I would not make your class immune to a type of enemy outright, I don't like the sound of it, and if it falls together, it's either extremely overpowered or completely useless, so I would not do that... Perhaps you could switch it around, that it has bonus damage? It's still not the greatest idea, but still. I DO like the other part of that trait, the immunity to certain effects. I imagine the archetype class would be an hardened, unshakable, unstoppable warrior with a few tricks up their sleeves. Really like the sound of it. I would also indeed keep a damaging shield for the class. -

Healing to the Chi Monk is a great idea, the class was a little bland for my tastes, before, this will add more to it's desirability. As for Natural Respite for the Alchemist, I'm not so sure, It does not fit, I feel, perhaps it should get a new trait, or at least a different one than this? (More powerful consumables? bombs that do more damage? Discount at Portia's Potion Shack?) The Craft skill for the bombardier is also a good idea, I think. -
Indeed, GimME

LOTR won't, on initial release, Lego Batman 2 will, though.

"Hmmm, my coinpurse seems to have a hole in it, oh well, keep stealing my gold, won't do you much good when you are dead." Guts keeps at Bloody Butch. Same battle order.
-
Ooc: If you want, you can just roll the rounds with the same setup. "Hmpf, looks like they practiced their pickpocketing, but not their combat skills, keep at them." Same battle order, Guts repeats his attack.
