Ragnarök Now - Conclusion
Scubacarrot replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
And I totally agree with the fact that things like false results and such should not be worded ambigously, that means you know it's tempered with, and will always carry out the exact opposite. -
Ragnarök Now - Conclusion
Scubacarrot replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I can tell when something is (partly?) directed at me. Here's what I think about this particular subject. I get into it, sure. Do I take it seriously? Well no, I really, really want to win, but no more than that, I don't get negative feelings, about the way they play, sure, but do I get resentment or other negative emotions, no, of course not. I actually really like it when people get "on my level", whatever that means, on playing. It's mafia, you are supposed to lie, play dirty, all tactics are allowed, that's my opinion, it's a dirty game. I think my own performance was bad, since I was wrong most of the time, and I was creating so much confusion that helped the scum. Hinckley, the thing is that you tried to hard when in context with me, the sudden change in attitude was what made it 100% clear, but your words were never that honeyed, dude. That's what made it clear to me you were scum. Still, I don't think you played as bad as you say, some townies really trusted you, and that's no easy thing. It's one thing to keep out of reach, it's another to make people trust you! As I said before, I am impressed by DD and WBD the most. DD, I did not have you pegged in private conversation at all. I don't know if that says a lot about me, but I know it says a lot about you, I think you did extremely well. The roleclaim you did was kinda unbelievable (especially the not using the roles thing), so that's when I naturally thought you were scum. GG! WBD, I think you were great, as I said before, Broadsword Killer, you are my hero. Shame it had to end for you like that, but it just means you were awesome. Very well thought out manouver, as well! Dragonator, so much mixed feelings! On one side I was extremely annoyed by your misplaced gloating and such, and your obvious wrong lynch of Pandora, and more obvious wrong stuff all the time, but at the same time on TOP of your suspicious behaviour, I think you played very well, got it together in the end and played a/the major part in winning it for the town at the end. CMP, why the gloating? Never trust a word a scum says, that's what I always say On top of that I just want to say. That theory, it totally fitted. I am just saying. -
Heroica RPG - Quest #40: The Strivvian Job

The guard under the scaffolding says to Boomingham and Ellaria: "Don't know about any of that, sir, ma'm. I'm just here to keep things civil and safe, I'm not with the slavers. The auction is supposed to start soon, though." A few people give angry looks to Skrall, as the large ogre blocks their view of the stage. Meanwhile, Atramor makes his way over to the other side, and adresses the man in pink, who stops in his conversation: "Eh? Yes... Very interesting... Have we met?" Before Atramor can answer, the words of the guard ring true, as the man on the stage in the red shirt speaks up: "Welcome, and thank you for coming. My name is Blackhawk, and my friends on the left and right are shorty, and ugly." This sparked a small chuckle among the crowd, Blackhawk continued: "It will be as follows, we will sell these three slaves this morning, have a break, handle the finances, and then sell the others we have lined up for you in the afternoon, and let me tell you something, the line up is good. We are the only seller today, folks, so keep tight. Rodrigo's Refreshments cart will come be here, so you have nowhere to go, am I right? Hah. You know how this works, we have a starting bid set up prior to this, raise hands to bid, 10 gold between bids, vocal bids are allowed, standard gold as payment only. If I don't see your bid, it does not count, simple as that. Any slaves not sold go to the mines or quarries for cheap, so you know what to do, bid! Alright then, let's do this." On Blackhawk's mark, the orc in armour unchains the first slave, the blonde woman, Blackhawk holds her by the hand, spins her around, and continues: "First up, we have this lovely woman. She was born into slavery, completely obedient, a treasure, for every household. Look at her! Her last owner did not require another slave, that's why she's sold now that she's an adult. Bidding starts at 500, anyone?" Immediately, a woman on the second row before the stage raises her hand to indicate she bid, which Blackhawk notes. Does any of the party want to do something? If they want to, they'd have to be quick. -

"Purple send me here to make sure you don't do anything rash. You won't be able to make it to the caged slaves unnoticed. There is the crowd that will see you, and there is one Strivvian guard and one of the slaver's bruisers guarding it..." "...There's a good chance the Elf with the crossbow will spot you. And I'd watch out for him, that kind of crossbow can take a limb right off..." "...And there's two more bruisers and another guard near the stage..." "In short, the only way to save these slaves - because that's what you are thinking of - is a flatout attack. It's a stupid idea, you'd be fighting at least seven people, and it's very possible some of the crowd will stand and fight too, some of them wield weapons and armour. Not to mention whatever the outcome, we'd be wanted for the rest of our lives in this city, making the chances of ever finding our missing men, very, very slim. Don't do it. I'm not saying I won't help, a stupid order is still an order, but think before you act." -

The party arrives at the Slave's market. They follow the instructions they got from the dockmaster. It's still early, so they don't meet that many people along the way, but by the time they got to their destination, more people were up, and the city was buzzing with activity. The party is at a large square, they see multiple set-ups like the one before them, but this seems to be the only one where there are people. Behind them are carts with cages on them, presumably for moving the slaves. The party sees a familiar face, Zoe greets the Heroes, it's the first thing the Heroes hear from her, her voice is soft, but also serious: "Hey. It's about to start." -

The pictures and hosting were great, although some things were really odd to me (roles) . I enjoyed the game. WBD and DD, you in particular did a great job as scum. -
No.

So, my questees. I spend the bulk of the morning building, but now I am done, the lighting is not good enough to take pictures, so update tomorrow!

"Sod off, elf. I don't know what your problem with me is, but I could not care less. Unless you are bringing me another bottle, I suggest you get out of my face."

Guts was sitting at his table, drinking his wine, when he suddenly saw the face of Benji the half elf inches away from himself. Guts raised an eyebrow, and said: "Sure..." Terribly slow, Guts reached for his coinpurse, and took out a single coin. He held it up for Benji, and then dropped it on the table before him.

See. Told you you'd get a good weapon eventually. And yes, if you still want the 1 gold from the reward, just ask Guts in the hall.

Back to school for me... I would love to see the dead writeboard. -
The raider was on his way back from the marketplace. Guts raised an eyebrow when an old man bumped into him, seemingly on purpose. Hm. And he thought he was getting too old to deal with this stuff. "Watch it, oldtimer. You wouldn't be able to lift the sword if you tried. And I don't provide charity." With that, Guts walked on to his table, and uncorked the second bottle of wine.
-
Aye, thanks.
-
I checked and I don't see it. Where did I do that?
-
If the Eubrican economy was in a crisis, I'm pretty sure Guts just saved it. Can someone please check if I did the maths correct?

Guts first notes the new artifacts store, and buys the Pugilist's Gloves for 80 gold after some looking around. After some more browsing, Guts also bought the Spiked Collar for 30 gold. He then visits Elphaba, whom he bought a gemstone from a while ago, and buys one of Scroll of Sleep, Scroll of Blindness and Scroll of Confusion, and also an Amethyst, for a total of 250 gold. The Raider goes back to Fabian's artifact store, and has the scrolls and the Gem merged with his Dancing Shoes. Guts was unsure how it worked exactly, but it did not take long before Fabian was done with the process, and Guts was another 200 gold poorer. Between Fabian's and Elphaba's store, Guts had spend 560 gold. The next stop was Portia's, where Guts refilled his Potion supply, buy buying 4 meads (4x15 = 60), 5 Smelling Salts (5x25 = 125), 5 Nostrums (5x35 = 175) and 6 Grand Potions (6x10 = 60). He had spend 420 gold in total in Portia's Potion Shack. The raider made a quick stop at Gnomeo, who Guts was pretty sure dealt in stolen goods, where he bought a Magical Compass for 50 gold. He was not sure if and how it'd would work, but even if it was just a normal compass, it could still be useful. The final place to go to was the Smithey. Guts laid out the Greatsword Fafnir and Lifestealer on the counter and explained what he wanted done. Anwyl got to work. First Anwyl removed the Amethyst and the Opal socketed in Fafnir for a total of a 100 gold. Next, the blacksmith merged the Amethyst with Lifestealer for 50 gold. Guts took the now emtpy sword, perhaps someone else could use it. Guts then had (3360 - (560+420+50+150 = 1180) = 2160 gold left), Guts ordered to upgrade Lifestealer to WP: 24 for 1950 gold(150+160+170+180+190+200+210+220+230+240 = 1950), leaving the rogue with 210 gold, and a whole lot of better equipment.

Guts returns to the hall, one his burdens gone, the book, but the gold was still there. Before heading on to the marketplace, Guts signed up for Quest #52, with the usual Holla in square letters.

This is why we have the library and stuff, so you don't have to remember it all.
-
Guts does not serve Pseudos. He is just part of the Pantheon as Guts knows it.

"Hm. Byblos, you should keep your clercs in check."

I will be coming, I hitched a ride with Ecclesiastes. -
He promised it to Thotwick, Byblos, or any other Metasimian, was never in the equation.
-
Guts walked in, carrying the black book. He said to the Librarian: "Hey Monkeyman, one of your bosses told me to drop this off. It's important. Don't let anyone take it, let alone read it. Honestly, it's best if you don't even let people look at it. If I were you, I'd keep this locked away tight. And don't even think about reading it yourself" The raider held the book out, awaiting what the Metasimian would say.
-
But Guts does know all of them personally.
