LEGO Star Wars Set Discussion 2025 - READ FIRST POST!!!

These are some pretty plausible and logical suggestions. Zam Wesell remains the minifigure in most need of a modern makeover. Can't add much more ideas beyond that. Besides red eyes for Vader, a third leg for Astromech Droids and skirt pieces for every cloaked character like Palpy and his Royal Guards. However, i strongly disagree regarding Vader's need for long legs, which would look super silly. While he is a little taller than most other characters, his hight isn't exactly equivalent to Avatar... As for the Kaminoans, they are perfectly fine as they are. Better not replacing any minifigures with mini dolls. Those formats should be kept separate from each other. -

Yeah, the Imperial Armored Speeder sounds lika a good idea. And this TIE Avenger thingy wouldn't be too awful of an alternative either. I only want to speak for myself, but... No, I won't. -

Yeah, that seems to be the case. Though they can always throw him in there for good measure as well. Suffice to say, we will probably have more RTG sets on our hands. Very much looking forward to my boyo Bane being revealed piece by piece. I would very much like to see some arm printing for the first time. -

ARE WE NOT ENTERTAINED?! The dark side Obi-Wan and Darth Revan minifigures will totally happen for some new RTG sets next year, right? Don't they dare doing this to red dress queen Padme... Even if the visual resemblance is there, i want the real deal for the respected, long overdue TPM version, not some mumbo jumbo alternative appearance. Already bothered me with Darth Jar Jar, magnificent as that meme material may be. Would be a lot easier to ignore if single Episode I sets wouldn't just release every five years or so. -

Having watched Solid Brix Studio's Death Slice review by now, my initial impressions remain unchanged in the grand scheme of things. I like it a lot for what it is, but it definitely ain't worth the price of admission. But reasonable value was never something i expected for the most expensive Lego set yet in the first place. However, what i will say, though, i can actually get behind the concept of making this huge diorama. And the Lego design team's reasoning of deeming the interior scenes as more important compared to what happens on the outside. They actually packed a bunch of neat functionality into this thing. The majority of modules look pretty polished. And of course it's nice to now be able to lay your eyes on everything at once. It's just still such a shame about the amount of compromises that have been made, most notably on the underdetailed minifigures. Rather than breaking some records left and right, a quality over quantity approach would have been the better call. Though i still stand by my point, considering this tall order, there had to be a way to get both class and mass. -

Well yeah, but that was to be expected, wasn't it? It's only natural that a giant diorama representing various scenes filled with a variety of characters would look lifeless without any minifigures on display. I think, this would prove problematic for most location based sets. Since i display all my minifigures separately, it definitely is for me here and there. Sets like Boarding the Tantive IV look like a generic clinic if you exclude every minifigure. You want to go home and rethink your life. Even if it didn't add anything substantial to the thread, which of course it always does in a noble Avenger crusade kinda way, a reply such as this doesn't add anything of substance either. Okay, that's just glorious on a grand galactic scale. And you have my (energy Omeeeeeega) bow. -

I think it's actually worse than the 4+ TIE Fighter. The wings are barely bigger than the cockpit. They should have used the resources to deliver more detailed minifigs of the Death Star instead. Or ideally, have that as a default plus make an awesome GWP. The mystery reveal event is live right about now. What could it possibly be?! HAHAHA, Lego values the GWP at $35!! -

Yeah, i thought it was funny... on the inside. Though on the outside, i was visibly confused. And it's good for OT representation to finally get more Glup Shitto officers. The comments... pretty crazy over there. Lifestyle images of the UCS Death Star leaked early, if anyone wants to take a closer look. If you weren't a fan of the 75300 TIE Fighter and thought it was too chibi style... wait until you see the GWP. -

It's like poetry... it rhymes. If you wanna get trolled ultimately hard today, go watch MandR's review of the UCS Death Star. Since everything is voiced over, not sure if he just blurred out the table of content and releases the full unblurred version tomorrow upon official reveal, or if it's a extraordinary elaborate out-of-season April's fools joke and he doesn't own anything but an empty box yet. Edit: Okay, this whole thing is as fake as a three dollar bill. -

Absolutely, we are on the same page on this one. Until it sees the official Lego light of day, the absence of the Petranaki arena will never not be mind boggling to me. Ever since it appeared on screen, it just screams big play set and, like you said, highlights the lack thereof for this theme. The 2023 Yavin temple sort of reignited my hope that it might happen one day. And i think this exact format with 1000+ pieces, a dozen or so minifigs and a price tag of ~170 bucks would be extremely fitting for such a set. You've got your typcial facade for the arena and one of the main pillars. The creatures would be a hybrid of head moulds and brick-built bodies. Good results can definitely be achieved with what parts are already available. This actually reminds me to pay the wishlist thread yet another visit again. You posted some really cool PT stuff in there. -

My thoughts on this exactly. This is indeed one of the cases where some creative freedom is more important than "accuracy". It was the right call to go midi-scale with this one. Now, if Lego releases the next Mando & Grogu AT-AT in this size for double the price or so, is another matter entirely. Yes... suspiciously good. This is like the first real Lego Star Wars christmas set made available to the public. So i can imagine Lego made the deliberate decision to kick things off with an appealing price point. And if it sells well, which it probably will, we might be in for a "treat" the coming years. But people are supposed to think "oh wow it might be much more expensive this time around, but i had such a good time with the last one." Preferably, just the latter part. Or Nute Gunray screaming at the top of his lungs... "She can't do that. Jango, pick up your head and shoot her... or something!" No proper Bantha mould after over a quarter century is crazy. This. It's an open secret the prequels still has the most content left to cover and i don't know how anyone could argue otherwise. But yeah, there also seems to be some hesitation (no hate) on Lego's part to do certain sets. In terms of missing minifigures, i feel like we are getting up there. Slowly but surely. Yeah, cautiously optimistic about these things. Bringing back ancient sets after half an eternity for a modern makeover wouldn't be the worst idea in the Lego world, either. -

Where are you, Jango Fett? You're here! You're not unsuccessfully attempting to escape with your battle damaged jetpack, right before mercilessly getting decapitated by a dude with a purple lightsaber (because he asked the creator of this whole thing if he can get purple), which was even more brutal in the deleted scenes. You're here! You're right here, and you're ready to fight! Yep, that's one solid looking Jango Fett minifigure from top to bottom. Sure, the deleted arm printing is somewhat unfortunate. Looks especially basic when you compare him to many other modern Mando minifigs. But like i said before, i can get behind the idea of downgrading from expensive UCS sets to much more affordable play sets. It's the lack of maintaining a certain quality standard from your typical UCS set to an even more expensive one that i don't get at all. Anyways, love the new rangefinder piece. You can finally turn it down without this flimsy finicky thing falling down. Given a constant supply of extra parts, i can hopefully fully replace my current collection with this new piece one day. Lama Su is as incredible as expected. His impeccable head gotta be one of the most magnificent Lego Star Wars moulds i have ever seen. The printing is spot on all around. Just the lack of back skirt printing was a little surprising to me. But i guess there wasn't anything but a few lines for some folds you could have added there. Said it numerous times and i will say it again: Lego is very good when designing these alien characters. It's almost as they need some sort of challenge to succeed, but fail when it comes to paying attention to more subtle details. Speaking of failing... I don't wanna talk about the young Boba Fett fig. Always happy to finally lay my hands on some missing minifigures, especially characters based on the PT era, which still has a lot of untapped potential. But yeah, that's two more down, lots more to go! -

Somehow, Mando Man's purchasing power has returned. Yeah, as is well documented at this point, i don't mind the downscaling as long as it's source material scale is properly conveyed and intact for the final product. This obviously isn't happening in this scenario, but due to this vehicle having nothing to do with the actual canon, i don't mind this too. On the contrary, i think the more compact size works in favor of the festive design. Besides, i don't wanna see Lego charge 150+ bucks for this. -

AT-AT lifestyle images are out and the Gingerbread Darth Vader actually has some sweet looking cape printing. For 60€ this set seems to be a fair deal in the Lego Star Wars world. That's exactly what i want to see. If you only get this single minifigure, you want a better price pro piece ratio (useless as this metric may be) than you are usually getting. Like if you fall short in one aspect, you just need this counterweight in order to be still providing reasonable overall value, which is apparently the case here. Very tempted to build this for christmas. Edit: beaten by like two seconds. @CallumPears: Yeah, i appreciate some much needed accuracy as well. Not nearly on the same level as you do. I like the occasional creative freedom here and there. And sometimes cool looking characters can be enough for me. But what i don't like is doing things for the sake of it. So i won't ever blame Lego if they do a simple looking character justice. No need to do details where they don't belong. At the same time, of course, you may prefer other minifigs that are more detailed by design and also accurately executed. -

Mine remains Plo Koon. As long as i don't get the V-19, this minifigure is basically unbeatable for me. The Clone Cadet, if pretty simple by design, is an honorable mention for me. Like i don't know if you can make him look any better than what we've got. Yep, it's always exciting to finally get your hands on some personally requested, long overdue figures. Yeah, it always was and always will be a smart and somewhat obvious marketing move to combine the need for groceries with your love of your favorite fictional IP. Really like the look of the Gingerbread Vader. Brings me back to the previous style of holiday themed figures from the original Advent Calendars, which i do definitely prefer over the newer, more generic looking ugly christmas sweater ones. They will be indeed. The other half will be a gigantic waste of space, though. Lama Su will be mine soon and it will definitely be one my favorites. -

Oh okay, i wasn't aware of the big Disney deal with Coca Cola. Always understood the appeal of increasing chances of people buying certain products if their favorite character is featured on it. I remember a younger me getting cereals (Kellogg's you know?) which would come with all sorts of goodies for your licensed themes, Star Wars obviously among them. Was just wondering about the timing, but i guess it's just about keeping the mindshare of the brand going during this sorta transitional, quite phase. Anyways, you guys already asked about your favorite 2025 set and to my surprise, due to a lack of purchased sets, a lot of you said Plo Koon's Jedi Starfighter Microfighter. So now i ask, and that might go hand in hand with that, what's your favorite minifigure of the year so far? And if it's Plo Koon, do you expect that to change before 2026? -

Yes, i agree. Especially the former is unanimously praised to be an all-time great set. Whereas i think the UCS Death Star could have been on the same level, but just falls short in areas where it absolutely shouldn't. The things is, if your minifigures are lacking in a classic $240 UCS set, it ain't that big of a problem, because everyone i. Their right mind would ~99% buy it because of the big build. So it's easier to see past those flaws. But when you have a UCS set that is basically a MBS offering in everything but name, so the play factor is a bigger priority, it's shortcomings becomes much more glaring, because the figs are much more of a main draw. On another off-topic note, i recently received a Coca Cola and to my surprise... Queen Amidala from The Phantom Menace was on it. Turns out you can find various characters from the saga on their cans and bottles since a couple of weeks. Which i find kinda interesting, as there is no Star Wars related project to promote right now. But it still reminds me of the marketing campaign they had with Pepsi when TPM was advertised literally everywhere. -

Well, if i were to humor the idea the Diorama Collection format, fittingly the Emperor's Throne Room set, is not clearly overpriced to begin with, then... yeah, maybe? But i don't, so i don't. I also don't think ripping away the total minifigures from a premium priced set, splitting them up and applying those to a variety of smaller system scale stuff works very well in favor of justifying or defending the value for the former. Even if it ultimately ends up being the same price, the amount of minifigures would never match properly, because it ain't a proportional process of adding them from regular releases to huge premium products. I mean, taking the 38 minifigs from the UCS Death Star would leave you with less than two figs on average for your suggested amount of sets. Since every set would retail for 50 bucks, does this sound realistic to you? No, it would be more like at least 60 figures in total. Unless we are talking only talking Dioramas with three figs per $100 like the aforementioned Throne Room. What a waste. I liked my initial idea much better. This joke aside, you can definitely do much better than this. I don't know what's the point of this, either. -

This is the Lego Star Wars theme in a nutshell to me. I like a lot of the actual sets, but i rarely like the pricing. Which is admittedly still better than the other way around, because quality should be the top priority. But yeah, i always thought releasing the first ever $1000 set and making it look worthwhile to people, would be a near impossible task for Lego. As the moment you do something unprecedented is usually met with shocked reactions regardless. I don't even know what aspect would make the UCS Death Star worth a thousand bucks. The build is huge and well designed for the most part... if you can tolerate the design decision to make it a Death Disc. The minifigure selection is very solid, but the execution is not up on the level it's supposed to be. So giving fans the minifigures as accurate and detailed as they deserve, might have helped tremendously. You don't wanna count the compromises being made in a set of this scale after paying them a fortune... No, you want to forget the price as soon as you open the box and having an awesome time putting this thing together. Like in a "yeah this was a huge amount of money, but i am satisfied with what i got" kinda way. -

Looks like the UCS Death Star will officially be revealed at a live event on September 4th. I want to inspect this thing from every angle only to reiterate that it's kinda cool, but definitely not 1000€ cool. -
Got the 75433 Jango Fett's Slave 1 for a very reasonable price. It's interesting that despite being well aware of what this set will and won't deliver, it doesn't get in the way of personal excitement whatsoever. Accepting something for what it is, judging it for what it sets out to do, rather than keep on mourning for what it could or even should have been, might help a lot. After all, the biggest battles are fought in the mind.

It's time for the grand 41st salad. I absolutely agree. According to my gut feeling, a new Count Dooku minifigure will finally happen next year. Considering how Lego operates nowadays, this makes the most sense, yeah. Winner winner, chicken dinner... i hope. I wanna say that a potential TIE Avenger will probably be sold for no less than 70 bucks. How some people can think it could be around 50 bucks in this ongoing Lego landscape is beyond me. Well, i don't know about everybody else's dreams, but in my case this would be both terrific and terrifying. Might need to apply some functioning filters to make it all work out. But i actually said for the longest time that i would like to be able to record my dreams for private use and research purposes. -

Well yeah, this aspect could prove problematic in the grand scheme of things. The only flaw in an otherwise perfectly thought out plan, i suppose. Now that i got a better look at it, i must say, as much as the Death Star minifigure line-up leaves to be desired, the Hot Tub Stormtrooper is a thing of beauty. Obviously not nearly enough to justify the set's value proposition (what single minifigure could?), but it's at least one of the very few bright spots the set actually does provide as far as new figures go. Even though i fully understand and even appreciate the principle of exclusivity, it's unfortunate that i won't be able to get my hand on this precious piece of plastic... unless Lego some day decides to just hook it up to a keychain or something. Think a figure such as this would have been a splendid addition to one of those visual dictionaries. -

D23 will start with Lego Star Wars representation. "Good things come to those who wait", a spokesperson says. They will unveil the curtain on the upcoming TIE Avenger, which just casually chills there on a table. The first official Mando & Grogu trailer follows immediately after, which also features the Avenger. The show concludes with a heartfelt public apology to @CloneCommando99 for any caused inconvenience. They will also grant him early access free of charge. In addition, they announce to honor his journey by heavily showcasing his dreams and memes in the set's manual. "Thanks for your time everyone. I know this show has been somewhat on the shorter side, but everything was said. Bye bye." -

I used to like the blue milk, but now the 332nd cocktail just makes me drunk beyond belief. Yeah, i could do with a juicy, tasty 41st salad any day now. Didn't had any for quite a long time. Other than that, maybe concentrate your efforts on a variety of phase 1 food instead of constantly delivering slightly different variations of phase 2 buffet.
