  1. Well, here's my stance on this: I personally believe that Flipz owes Bob a VERY PUBLIC apology for what he did, providing he doesn't get perm-banned over this. I mean while it's Megabloky enough to ragequit a videogame, which can just be reset with a push of a button, its an entirely worse to do it with a game like this. After all, all those minifigs, sets and other scenery don't build themselves! Only a real Megabloking Slubanning Ban-Baoer would screw over all the other players just because they were losing! While I can understand being frustrated at losing, since I lose a LOT at most multiplayer games I've ever played, ragequitting is NOT the way to handle it... At least try to go out with some style (like trying to make one of your scum teammates look like they're town for instance).
  2. Bob, I was following Excalibur as closely as I could (Real Lifetm has been kicking my butt lately, which is why I haven't posted), and was enjoying your game, only to get on Eurobricks yesterday and find out what happened. I'm really sorry one Whiny McSpoilsport player decided to ruin the whole game for everyone by ragequitting, however I'm glad you and Shadows decided to do a continuity reboot on the game. I can't wait for the new game to start, and perhaps, to pick up a few tricks from the masters (Scouty, Shadows and Dragonator). I'm also somewhat envious of your rather large collection of classic Space theme minifigs... I once had such a collection, but lost them when I went into my first dark age around 1994... Now the oldest Space minifig I have is a solitary Ice Planet 2002 guy.
  3. Oh, sweet! Definitely going to be getting some of these, especially the trench gun... I got one as a proto last year at Brick Fair and was awaiting their eventual release... I also did not know that the RPG-7 was in the works. I'm definitely going to be making an order from Brickmania here soon.
  4. I love that drop pod design! BTW, have you considered applying for the Computer Graphics designer job that just opened at LEGO?
  5. That made me chuckle! I've seen many scenes like this in RL along the interstate when I'm heading up to see my fiance... Looks like Stephanie and Mia should have eased up on the ol' accellerator. BTW, correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like Stephanie's car is supposed to be a Lamborgini, and Mia's car looks kind of line one of BMW's sports line.
  6. I'm happy to see a fellow Bradbury fan paying tribute to the late master of Science Fiction.... Fahrenheit 451 was one of the most personally influential books I've ever read... You see, up until 10th Grade, when I had to read the book and do a report on it for English Class, I'd generally been in favor of censorship, as long as it was done in the name of stamping out what I considered sleaze, smut and blatant falsehoods. T Fahrenheit 451 forced me to reconsider: Who am I to determine what the absolute truth and right are? Where does it stop. After that, I've been mostly ANTI-censorship (aside from putting common-sense age limits/guidelines on products that parents may not want their children to have... After all, it is a parent's right and responsibility to shape the development of their child until the child's brain is developed enough to handle decision making on their own). I only regret not ever having been able to personally thank Mr. Bradbury for opening up my eyes to the true, oppressive nature of censorship, regardless of whatever good intentions those imposing it might have. As for the MOC, excellent work... Just make sure you don't get bit by any butterfly effects, though.
  7. HA! I knew it! I started to suspect Coryn(Tammo) after the second time he was like "oops I 'accidentally' got an innocent lynched" (although to be honest I began to have misgivings when he admitted to "accidentally" giving away the identity of the town cop"... I pretty much knew for sure when he claimed and investigation by a TOWN ROLE COP... From everything I've seen, that power role is almost always ONLY used by the scum... Of course, this game seems to have been somewhat victim of the "Lazy Town" plague that seems to have infested Eurobricks.... Maybe it has something to do with this thing called "summer" and people doing stuff "outdoors", whatever that means. Still, well played Tammo.... I can't wait until I can sign up for the next Mafia School game so I can get a crack at playing against you myself.
  8. Excellent, police/coast guard cutter. I like how you managed to actually get a decent Helipad on a ship this small. Good work!
  9. Man, I can't believe I missed this one! (and I call myself a steampunk....) I just love this, and your paperboard/cloth type solution for the gasbag is the best that I've seen for getting around using the old Adventurers' blimp piece (which goes for something like $30-$50 each on Bricklink). I also kinda like the rather "disreputable" air your minifigs give the set, and agree that it would go quite nicely with either Indiana Jones, the original Adventurers or the newer Pharaoh's Quest and Monster Fighters sets.
  10. That is quite impressive! I'd hate to think of how much it would cost as an actual set! I mean, that small all-terrain armored vehicle/tank thingy would probably be at least $15 if it was a set by itself (I may just download the LDD file for the purpose of dissecting the small vehicle).
  11. That was kind of my impression, but it also kind of evokes the Republic Gunships from Star Wars as well. I definitely like the design, though.
  12. The old one was good, but the new version is much better! Are you going to post any interior shots? Also, are all those cannon ports functional (as in they have cannons behind them)? Excellent work though... Not too often you see ships with entirely brick-built hulls around here.
  13. Well, considering that Sluban is typically one of the more egregious knockoff brands out there (along with Enlighten), I'd be willing to bet good money that they are knockoffs of Oxford Block products (Sluban has also been known to make direct ripoffs of Oxford military sets as well)... EDIT: I guarantee that the Sluban set in the first pic is an Oxford knockoff, because that style of minifig dress body is a definite Oxford part. For more info, see this thread in the Community section. As for the pinkness, meh... In my own opinion, I think the Friends camper is ugly because there is no way in heck that lime green goes with pink, lavender and white! If I do end up getting that set, I'll have to replace all the lime parts with either red or white (or maybe even pink) to de-uglify it.
  14. Not exactly pirate era, but I usually add either an inboard motor (with huge air scoop) or steam engine to make motor/steam launches or fast attack boats for my post-apocalyptic setting... The design is fairly simple and a great way to make use of the zillion rowboats I have (not to mention excess minifigs, since each fast attack boat seats two).
  15. Lovely sailboat you got there, and based on the many small yachts/sailboats I've seen around the world when I was in the Navy, it's perfectly proportioned for its class, too! Your design has also helped me figure out how to solve the problem of designing a post-apocalyptic pirate gunboat using pieces from the Spongebob Flying Dutchman set... Well, believe it or not, but US Navy ships fly Calico Jack's Jolly Roger during the line crossing ceremony...
  16. As a salty old sea dog (ex-Navy), I always like to see more contemporary ships, and you definitely rise to the occasion, so as we say in the US Navy (and other NATO Navies): "Bravo Zulu on a job well done." ...although I would like to second the request for some interior shots/ cutaway views (even if they're just in LDD).
  17. I actually still have the 1990 and 1996(?) LEGO Idea books... I always loved the classics! I'm also intrigued by the prototype pics... Too bad some of them never came to be (i.e. official Crusaders oval shield, poofy sleeves and sea serpent), but it's interesting to see that some of them HAVE recently, namely the rapier with the Series 4 Musketeer and the just released Monster Fighters line, and the Tam O'Shanter with the Series 7 Bagpiper, just to name two....
  18. I'm definitely going to add one or two of these baddies when I get around to placing my order for about 50 U-Clips (seriously can't have enough of those). It looks like the shells should fit into the breech I designed for my 76mm field guns (basically two 1x2 technic bricks with the holes lined up), and the empty shells would make a nice pile of spent shell casings for dioramas...
  19. Sweet! I'm going to have to make an order soon, then!
  20. Well, since that piece is only for the web shooting action, which I don't particularly care about one way or another, and is not necessary from a structural standpoint, I stand by my statement about using the basic body plan for creating a giant spider horde...
  21. Nice stuff, Omi... Do the visors fit the new Samurai Helmet (i.e. like what Lord Garmadon and Samurai X have)... If so, I'm definitely ordering some of them, along with a few of the rippers to arm my erstwhile Hordes of Chaos....
  22. Oooh! I definitely like this camp, as well as what you're doing with this "theme" of yours: It kinda reminds me of my unfinished "what-if"/alternate history custom campaign for Age of Empires II where a different Daimyo than Toyotomi Hideyoshi becomes Shogun and decides to colonize the New World, rather than invaded Korea (which is what led to Hideyoshi's downfall and Tokugawa Ieyasu's rise to power)...
  23. As someone who was in Hong Kong in 2002 and rode on this very ferry, I must congratulate you on your spot-on accuracy! The day I rode it to Kowloon was a blast, and I still have several of the things I bought in Kowloon (a couple Mandarin-style shirts and a Mahjong set). Thanks for bringing some pleasant memories to mind with this MOC.
  24. Always nice to see some classic space themes represented here.... My brother and I used to have the Particle Ionizer until we gave it away (along with most of our LEGO bricks) in 1995 (my first dark age). I think you did a nice job representing the theme, and I really like your rich dandies, particularly how you used the mad scientist's flask upside down as a martini glass.
  25. Oh yeah! I'm definitely getting this one, now... I agree 100% with those who said that this is the best giant spider ever! As a matter of fact, it appears that most of the pieces are common ones available through PaB, so you should be able to (with a little adaptation) be able to mass-produce your own giant spider horde. I'm also kinda LOLing at there being three of the "One Ring" being included in the set... Maybe one of them is NeoPets' "Two Ring".
