Yes, I've also noticed some people mentioning an "Apirl Flöös Day," which, if I remember correctly is the day that the Ministry of Magic shuts the Floo Network down for yearly calibrations and preventive maintenance.

You left off the "日"... BTW, this is the best Äprïl Fööl's Däy prank ever.

MOC: Small Scale Diesel Loco & Layout
Laura Beinbrech replied to AussieJimbo's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Nice Midi-scale train, Aussiejimbo! I'm glad to see you've gotten the Power-Functions for Narrow-gauge LEGO trains problem solved. -
Nice small ships! The first one really reminds me of the one they had in the #260 1993 LEGO Idea Book (which I happen to have), it's on page 38 & 39. Yours looks like the updated, re-mastered version (i.e. Pirates vs Pirates 2009)

Aw man, I loved that movie! I saw it with my friends when I was in the Navy, and this moc definitely captures the ship perfectly! That scene where they end up on top of the Giant's head was hilarious!

Polish Guy: I just remembered something: This tank looks like it belongs with Katherine's Hello Kity Sisters of Battle Warhammer 40K army.

Mafia School: A Bedtime Story
Laura Beinbrech replied to Sandy's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
While I said earlier that I wanted to play in this game, Real Life® has gotten in the way: You see, I've been looking for land/a house since about this time last year, and wasn't expecting to actually be buying anything for another two months at least. Long story short, I found the perfect piece of property for a price that's to die for, so I'm entering negotiations to purchase it as I type, meaning I likely will be too busy to play the game. I WILL, however, be following it as closely as I can, and who knows, I may be able to participate in the next Mafia School. In the meantime, thanks for hosting this awesome game and your hard work, Sandy. To those who are chosen, I'd like to say: "Play Well, and May the odds be EVER in your favor!" -

I don't know, this Darth Frodo character is acting rather scummy, therefore I think I'll: Vote: Chillax Darth Frodo (Chillax Darth Frodo) -
I love it! This is the most awesome Friends MOC since Mark Stafford (LEGO Nabii) came up with his "Ultra Violet" Friends battle-mech! I really like the main gatling cannon and the, um, "decoration" on the front. BTW, is that a camo Brickarms HCSR that I see clipped to the side of the tank? I got one almost identical as a freebie last year.

Excellent piece of steampunk machinery! Ol' Gatt would look great in ANY kind of Steampunk/Wierd-West setting (i.e. Wild Wild West).

Sandy, I'm loving these characters! I guess twisted great minds think alike. I really like the Buletta/B.B. Hood vibe your Little Red Riding Hood has. Your Jack looks almost EXACTLY like the Jack from MÄR ....aside from the fact that the Jack in MÄR used a shovel-Ärm that allowed him to control plants and use earth-based attacks. -

Ha! That would be hilarious! Oh, Sandy, I was kind of curious and I wanted to ask this earlier, but I kept forgetting: Have you ever heard of a Japanese Manga series called MÄR or Märchen Awakens Romance? The reason is that it seems very similar in principle to what you have going on here, namely familiar fairy tale characters involved in a deadly tournament with prime fairy tale villains (but with some twists) over control of the world of MÄR-Heaven.... -
Yakuza Family - Confirmation and Discussion

I was on the USS O'Brien (DD-975) from 2000-2003, so you MIGHT have seen me briefly around town. Def: Going all the way from Okinawa to Hokkaido?! Man, that's like moving from Key West to Wisconsin! I've never been to Sapporo or anywhere else in Hokkaido, but I have been to Naha (well, the outskirts anyways)... My ship stopped in at the White Sands Navy base in Okinawa several times, and I went from there to Kadena Air Force base once. -

Touche! Yes, he probably would find some way to make a game about deception, betrayal and Survivor-like factional scheming into a heartwarming tale about cute, fuzzy animals. -

Hey guys! I've been following this game for a while now, and I must say that it's pretty exciting! I was not expecting the additional secret antagonist faction: Nice twist, Badboy! I've formed a few theories of my own, but as I'm not playing, I'll keep my mouth shut and wait to find out if I'm right when it's all said and done. Oh, and Def: Thanks for making me REALLY miss Japan with those pictures of yours. I was stationed there from 2000-2001 on a ship based in Yokosuka Navy base, and I really enjoyed it. Those dishes you showed remind me of this awesome meal I had a a restaurant called the "Kaniya" (かに家) in Yokohama: about ¥8000 for a 4-course meal, each of which contained crab meat! Anyways, thanks for hosting this interesting game, Badboy! -
Power Miners vs. Rock Raiders
Laura Beinbrech replied to Oky's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I voted for the Rock Raiders, but I'll willingly admit that my vote was influenced by the fact that the Rock Raiders torsos and set pieces are, in general, more useful for MOCing, and perhaps a bit of nostalgia there, too.... I wish I'd have bought about 10 more of the Rock Raiders minifig packs when they were available, because the "Docs" torso is perfect for the basic troops of my Neo-Confederate army in my LEGO setting. As a matter of fact, that's pretty much the first thing I thought of when I saw Docs was "Sweet! Now I can have some rebs to fight my cavalry!" Furthermore, the Jet head is one of the better Classic LEGO female printed heads and I wish I had a few more on hand (The one I do I used for the Commandant of the Federal Marine Corps)... -

I prefer to think of it as "Giving Murphy his Due." At least this way, any surprises will be pleasant ones. That makes it even BETTER, in my opinion! Sandy, this mafia school looks like its shaping up to be a fairly "Grimm" one. (note: For those who HAVE actually read the Brothers Grimm version of most popular fairy tales would already know that they have more in common with this upcoming Mafia Game than Disney's take on them...) -
Err... I kinda forget sometimes that, since this is a CONSTRUCTION toy forum, I should be a bit more specific when I say about building something: What I meant was that I was hoping someday to build a REAL rat-rod out of metal and stuff , which isn't an impossibility, considering that the mechanic I take my car to for major repairs also builds and races late-model stock cars.... I am also planning on EVENTUALLY making some kind of classic/steampunk car/rat-rod in LEGO, but currently time and part inventory does not permit it.

This is hilarious! Those aliens don't look too happy about finding an unidentified life form crashing out in their bed, though...
-
I love this design... Very swooshable, and fully loaded with really BIG guns! I also think that the launcher rack is rather interesting, somewhat unorthodox and very unique. You know, I was thinking that the shape looked somewhat familiar, and now that you mention it, it DOES look a good bit like an Arwing.

While I do love the Collectible Minifig "Galactic Patrol" figure, one of the offical LEGO comments on the CUUSOO project (which I'm supporting, BTW) reads as follows: (Bold font added by me) As you can see, TLG seems to highly approve of the helmet design, which would have uses elsewhere, I'm sure, so who knows...

Sandy: Twisted fairy tale Mafia?! Aw HELLZ yeah! This theme is right up my alley. ....Of course, knowing my luck I'll most likely either get killed in the first night action, or if I'm on the scum team, lynched on the first day. ...Provided I'm allowed to play, of course. -
As someone who has dreams of one day building their very own rat-rod (or at the very least a 1940's/1950's style car), I love this! The lipstick plugs is one of the best uses I've seen for that element. Your creation definitely captures the Rat-rod look!

Nice hack using the slot-car track and making the car with the steering wheel on the right side for left-lane driving. Really slick.
