I scored my dream set 6090 castle, but it doesn't have the 2 cloth flags. Since people have scanned and MOC their cloth sails, I am wondering if someone did the same with cloth flags...

[HELP] Generic Building Help Topic
sondh replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
@Stereo Thanks for the suggestion! Turns out it's the 3x 12 teeth gears under Earth that caused the problem. I removed them and have to be content with a non-tilted version of the Earth. -
[HELP] Generic Building Help Topic

NEED HELP WITH GEAR SLIPS Hey, hope you guys can help me with this, I have been scratching my heads off all day. My son is at the age when kids are fascinated with space and stuff, so I looked around what I have in lego and followed JKBrickworks to build an orrery, with the intention to motor it up with a powered up motor (instruction here). Due to my inventory limitation, I made a modification: instead of using LEGO PART 6539 Technic Driving Ring 2L, 4 Ridges, I used PART 18947 Technic Driving Ring 3L, paired with 2x 18946 Technic Gear 16 Tooth with Clutch on Both Sides. To accommodate with the 3L driving ring, the orrery is 1 stud higher than the instruction. Now here is the problem: it takes a lot of force by hand to turn the crank and move everything. I swapped some gear parts here and there but generally it stills need a lot of delicate force, as turning too fast would lead to slipping gear. I tried to hook up with a L motor and the Technic powered up hub, the motor can turn a little bit before the hub led light flashes orange and shut itself down, likely due to overload issue. I think I can get some sensor data from the motor regarding the torque and force being used, but it's clear that there is something not right with the gears. I read the comments on Rebrickable and it seems no one was complaining about gear issues, so it must be me only. Video of the issue: https://youtube.com/shorts/dvGSeqx8bJQ Lower section Upper section Beam with 3 gears in the upper section. I tried a different 16 tooth gear with clutch to see if it solves the problem, but this gear made turning even more difficult. TROUBLESHOOTING METHODS THAT I HAVE TRIED: Separated the upper part and lower path to test each gear sections, The lower section have no problem turning, but the upper section takes a bit of force, particularly this set of gears. Appreciate any kind of help or guidance to make this work! -
Free vs Paid Instructions for MOCs
sondh replied to Milan's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thanks for the discount. I am following your Jeep Trailcat instruction at the moment. However, there are some steps that I am afraid they might cause problems for future disassembly 115 - insert the axle with stop end here (same with 119 too) Also, I will be using the power function motors in this set, would that be a problem? Currently I have 2 L motors, 3 M and a servo, do I need another L motor? -
Should Lego bring back the green dragon in its original form?

I don't care about pose, my main concern is whether we can attach a fire piece to his mouth or not. -
Hi! I'm Son from Vietnam. For sentimental and spiritual reason, I can't tell you my first lego set. But my dad bought it for me in 1994, and I still keep a pretty minted version of it (that I bought from ebay in 2015) in my glass cabinet. Now my second one, I can tell, is the 6515 Stunt Copter. Safe to say, classic system sets like these made me still adore the simple philosophy and aesthetic. My most recent classic hunt was the 6339, in September 2024. I have been gawking at the poster of that set since, 1994 or 1995? It only takes 30 years for me to run across someone who is selling that set in my area, plus ~2 months to find some missing part, and 2 more days to retrobrite the yellowed bricks. In the end, I still miss one piece, butttttt given the rarity of it, I am contended. Still, it's good to be back with lego. With 6339 in my possession, I don't have any urge to purchase anything at the moment, I'm taking my time reorganizing the old inventory so one day I can properly handover to my son. Currently I am learning lego technic as well, but it's a beast to handle! Anyway, nice knowing you all, hope to have a fun time and lots of learning experience!

Thank you kindly, anh. Unfortunately I can't DM you here due to my account limitation. Is there any other way to reach you?

Thanks anh Ngọc, I did tinkering around with your zetros PF mod. Now I am eager to try a new build with the zetros parts, with the PF system.
