  1. The big news is that Chewie is gonna be in a 40-fig set? Seriously? The former quote does involve some risk on the part of Maxabuat’s source, but that latter claim feels so generic, a claim so easily deducible upon news of 40 figs. Even then, most people expected the niche Imperial officer and a few of the Emperor’s advisors, so it’s not much of a hefty claim. A $70 Jango Slave 1? Why not a playscale Boba one to differentiate? Why not a UCS Boba Slave 1 (the more iconic of the two) and a playscale Jango Slave 1? Why two Slave 1’s in the same year? Why at $70 and not at $120 so one could fit both Fetts inside? Why another Kaminoan not include figs from Geonosis like Dooku and a Seppie bug or Wat Tambor? (To be fair, so long as it’s a new character, I can get behind another Kaminoan to keep the mold alive.) I’ll gladly take another Slave 1; I just don’t feel this one (nor this entire wave) was thought through as much as it could’ve. Well spoken. My speculative mind now latches onto “singular focus of this [year]”. Could this be a new strategy going forward, even if it is a poor one? I wonder what I’ll be saying next year if that summer wave is all the OT sets I’m dreaming up this year. Actually, I’d say that a bunch of Rebel and Impeial starfighters sounds far more interesting, particularly because there would have to be variety in the minifig selection. Then again, if it’s a bunch of Imperial army-builders, I might pass on most of them as well, but that’s just me. Yeah, clone and prequel fans were really feeling the drought with the two clone BPs in 2015, Clone Turbo Tank in 2016, Republic Fighter Tank and Obi-Wan’s SF in 2017, Clone Trooper (& Jedi) BP and Anakin’s SF in 2018, and all the Kayshyyyk sets in Jan 2019. Was it ideal? I won’t argue so. However, TLG was still trying to provide variety even in the midst of the huge new media waves, and notably the Sequel era is bookended by multiple clone sets. They know what sells—clones—they just maybe didn’t connect with you personally. If this wave does seem like your dream wave, I’m glad for you. If armies are your thing, which is a valid thing to love doing, then the UT-AT and 327th BP will be great for you. This wave just doesn’t hit well with me, nor do I argue it’s a good representation of TCW as a whole. Started thinking about the figs in the Maul mech. If mechs are starting to come with two figs, maybe we could see a surprise second in the Maul mech? It’s allegedly TCW-based, which would imply potentially Obi-Wan as a “villain” (but let’s not go there again)—perhaps an earlier seasons reuse from the V-19 or a new latter seasons version? Maybe the Obi-Wan in the V-19 is from Season 3 to match with the Ahsoka and Anakin from January?
  2. Fair point. All I remembered from that scene was the AT-OTs and that pretty blue leaf George used to hide Bly’s massacre. Now my hopes for a brown MTT have gone up a slight. I don’t know if this can even be called synergy, although it’s hard to gauge in this case. Synergy is easier to gauge when, in the case of the 2022 AT-TE, we could’ve had a 212th BP on Utapu and a Wheelbike vs Obi-Wan’s Lizard (no disrespect to her). The Battle of Felucia isn’t as interesting in the movie as the Battle of Utapu, so the options for multiple sets is limited. To put Bly and Secura in a separate set speaks more of padding the lineup than crossover potential. I am getting incredibly nitpicky, though. To be absolutely fair, (and in case LEGO is reading—hi) while a brown MTT is far more interesting to me build-wise, I still ultimately would’ve preferred TPM characters over more clones. A Jar Jar and Obi-Wan or Padme or Tarpals would’ve more intriguing to me personally. Then again, it’d also guarantee a brown MTT—although they could always make a blue MTT based off one of TCW episodes on Naboo and give the people Gungans that way. (Why I am advocating for Gungans I haven’t the foggiest clue…) Shoutout for beating me to the lunch. Agreed. If you listen closely, you can hear the sound of an easy pass nearby. These easy passes are native to LEGO’s ignorant attempts at profiting off their OC shows. I’ve been thinking about this for a while: I firmly believe that the RTG sets should’ve been cut down to the Dark Falcon and Bob’s SF—cut the generic Rebel and Akbar Trooper, throw L3-G0 in the Dark Falcon if need be, and put Sig and Yesi in Bob’s SF. Distills the heroes and villains to one ship only, keeps the essential characters while removing those which are superfluous, and I believe shows a better gauge on the desirability of the show’s characters. Facts. Hopefully his box office numbers fly (like a bee). At this point, there might be enough money saved from this year alone that I could buy the $1,000 DS. Maybe that was their plan all along.
  3. Our CloneCommando brother returns. Let us rejoice. I mean, if you disappeared, the Aslume would close up shop in a week. Wait a minute. CloneCommando 2025 Villain arc confirmed? Takes the Aslume’s insanity from EB to Reddit and soon the world—through memes??? This was a pretty hard call.. anyway, here’s my top 5: 1) Joker 2) The Joker 3) Joker, The 4) The Fedora-wearing Joker 5) Lex Luthor… disguised as Joker LET’S GOOOOO! Wow, I actually contributed to the insanity? Terribly sorry to shatter your Scents of Self, though. Just fax an estimate on it’s value and I’ll try and make amends. I agree, action figures are always marketable (now why you would want a mini posable version of a character that’s just liable to fall over soon—wait no AT-AT, don’t fall over!) so TLG is probably going to pursue it sometime in the future. My only question is how they’ll change up the style of figure. They’ve done Bionicle, CCBS, now “Buildable;” how do they further standardize to separate the next system from the previous? Obviously neither of us truly know; just curious about your thoughts. We’re getting a Cyborg Spider-Man five years after our last Cyborg. Pretty alright ship you got there. It might not be enough, though. (Not that I doubt 18th century British firepower in the least… but even if there’s a 1% chance Billund survives, we must take it as a full 100% chance—or whatever Batfleck says in BvS:DoJ.) Denmark does own Greenland at the moment…
  4. GUYS! I don’t think we should be upset about the lack of any additional Star Corps troopers. You can just buy the additional 327th DLC pack using the millions of spare change we all obviously own! TLG is so thoughtful about their fans. Meanwhile, this counts as official confirmation it’ll be a CIS blue MTT—bummer.
  5. As long as the off-brand Deadpool is called Swordy-guns-guy, I’m in. (Alternatively, rename Silver Samuari to Chrome-Swordy, but that’s clearly too much of a stretch.) Meanwhile, I nearly went insane realizing that Leia is nowhere to be found in a set under $600. The only thing that kept me from true insanity was the Young Leia minifig in the Droid Factory set—a set and figure for which I couldn’t care any less than I do. Now, though, I see the light: it includes zero clones, it’s a set designed for play, and it includes the only minifig of Leia in an official non-retired LEGO set at the moment— the Buildable Droids and Creative Play is our savior.
  6. To be frank, Ashnflash says a lot of things in his videos to draw views. I don’t think he’s got any more of a legitimate source than those giving the rumors in the first place. Of course, I’d love to be proven wrong. You forced them to recreate you as a minifigure? Without paying the $12 fee? That’s greedy. I could see light medium blue working for Cap, so long as he has red boots to go with it. As for Iron Man, classic red and gold don’t mix well for his design, since the LEGO gold is too dark compared to the classic red. I feel an Iron Man using red and classic yellow would look better visually; even if you lose out on the metallic vibe, it worked well in the comics. Hey, what’s wrong with purple and blue Hawkeye? That’s a legendary design and I will not hear otherwise. Agreed on the rest. I gave BP from the 2022 mech just a spare Batman cape and he looks perfect. I think you’re hitting on a key of good design: so long as it captures the essence of the character, that’s all that matters. It’s why I’m happy to see the FF in 2025 at all. I’ll probably buy comic versions should they release those minifigs later on, but I’m thrilled to see those characters finally acknowledged by TLG. Now granted, I say that as someone who does really care about the difference between the suits film to film. (Placing a Mark 3 Iron Man or an AoU Cap in an 2012 The Avengers scene is blasphemous to me.) I simply appreciate strong minifig designs, whether it be from comics or movies.
  7. Ah, yes, I failed to remember that fact when I made that statement. It’s funny, because I thought about that yesterday after I made that post. Regardless, as far as in Imperial ranks, my point still stands. Sure, but the word “republic” is uttered multiple times in the OT. The two forms of government, though distinct and not equivalent, go hand-in-hand at least here in the U.S.. (Still waiting on a date for that Lucas quote about alien diversity.) Alternatively, you could bring in the fan favourite EU character, Mara Jade. Of course, how could I forget the beloved Mara Jade as well? Oh, did I mention the spectacular Mara Jade? (This is such a dumb joke…) You bring up some excellent points about the Sequels, most of which I had never considered. I have a lot of thoughts, but I’ve done enough to drag us off-topic as is. We are definitely in the midst of a transition right now. Older designers have either moved on to other parts of the company or have retired altogether, while younger designers—closer in age to most LEGO YouTubers—have been given free reign. I can see this in the difference of build language between the 2021 X-Wing and Jedi SF and the 2024 versions of both. Some aspects of each design look better, while some are just a difference of taste. We do need new vision (case in point: 2014 and 2021 UCS TDK Tumblers are the exact same) but sometimes in the eagerness to showcase their handiwork they regress the design (case in point: 2021 to 2024 playscale TDK Tumblers). To follow up on a prior conversation, that’s my main concern with the new UCS Slave 1; they might needless change what worked on the 2015 model that it’ll miss the mark. I haven’t seen this trend in the 2023 UCS X-Wing or 2024 UCS TIE Interceptor, but the Blacktron Renegade remake and UCS Sail Barge gives me some pause for concern. I don’t know what to expect. Back on the topic of set choice, the similar age of the new design members to that of popular LEGO YouTubers is far too much of a coincidence. The admiration for clones seems prevalent in that age group. I can’t tell if the YouTubers influenced the new designers, influenced the corporate executives at TLG to choose said designers, or if this is purely organic. I just hope that next year can cater more to the other parts of the SW fandom.
  8. @CloneCommando99seems to have disappeared. I smell the work of my former employer, Blacktron, in this. Aslume, if our clone brother has fallen, we must avenge him! Of course, that’d mean we have to become Avengers, which doesn’t seem right for this thread, so maybe we compromise and become Guardians of the Galaxy. Never mind, I forgot about this.
  9. If we get a new comic-based Cap, I’d love if they recoloured the MCU helmet in classic blue. That might have been my gripe with the previous comic Caps in the past.
  10. Sometimes the best minifigures are the ones with the least amount of detail. Silver Age comic designs work because they strike the essence of the character, such is the same with a minifigure. In this case, I love the CMF Moon Knight for all its detail, but a comic version wouldn’t hurt too much. It’s not something over which I’ll send MandoMoonKnight on a quest of vengeance, but for people who want something resembling the classic comics New York, they should have that option.
  11. His ESB look is his most iconic look, and I will throw the gauntlet down to anybody who says otherwise. He should’ve been included in the Carbon freezing chamber a couple years back, or they could remake the Cloud City Car and include him there (maybe Bespin Gown Leia too, if I may be greedy). A small bit less iconic, sure, but it’s Billy Dee Williams. He’s undeniably cool for that fact alone. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for more diverse troops, since it offers a little more value. I’m more so upset that they’ve stopped the buck there, when you never even see the stormtrooper’s faces. This would be different if they were producing a bunch of Rebel trooper BPs and decided to diversify those troops, in my opinion. Even then, though, the most recent BPs have been clones (all the same face) or Mandos with blank heads underneath, so not much has been accomplished for inclusion. True, but I believe there’s more method to the OT than people give Lucas credit for. Do you have a date for that Lucas quote? Feels like something he’d say in response to a 2015 or 2024 Twitter campaign. Anyway, looking at the OT on face value, human and alien diversity seem to go hand in hand. All the faces we see in the Empire paint George’s picture of fascist regimes, no? Compare that to his vision of the free, hopeful Rebellion, with all sorts of different looking people involved. I’m getting way off LEGO discussion, though, so I’ll concise my thoughts there. This is a touchy subject and not one on which I want to endlessly debate right now, lol. Brilliant! You truly belong with us in the Aslume. A set with Brutus, a Ree-Yees, and SM-33 would be fantastic. No idea what they could do build-wise, but a man can dream. Maybe the unknown set is a Pirate Snub Fighter reskin with Skeleton Crew figures. After all, we live in a society.
  12. I’m intrigued by these two in particular. I’ve been opposed to the helmets as of late since TLG refuses to include minifigs (plus the Iron Man and Spidey helmets just don’t look that great). The fact that these will—and will be including Iron Spider and Mk. 6, respectively, is already more promising. I just hope these look good and that they aren’t priced over $60. ($40 would be the sweet spot, but I won’t hold my breath.) Yep, didn’t have to wait that long. Y’ouch. It’s understandable why they’re priced as they are, but I need these busts to knock it out of the park in looks. These need to have looks so good that they reach out of the box and slap you hard into next week. Definitely interesting as a new gimmick. We’ve seen TLG already experimenting with this within the Jurassic Park theme, so I’m hopefully this is a slight change for the better. Interesting and inspired playsets are the best case scenario, yes, but at least I get more out of the box than just a dust collector. I’m calling foul on the no Ultron rumor. The whole reason the Quinjet was deployed in Seoul was to capture Ultron, so why exculde the main villian? Regardless, the AoU Quinjet sounds promising build-wise. I’m absolutely certain the set doesn’t come with just three figures; Hulk would have to be included in that case. Unfortunately for Oscorp, that scale of building falls out of my range of interest. Still, hopefully it’ll make for a nice playset, include some stellar minifigs, and pave the way for a $400 modular eight years later. $130 is kinda crazy for it, though. Iron Patriot again? We’re still getting the Hall of Armor, right? Honestly, I only really like the 2013 minifig, so I can do without an updated version. Reusing Mk. 6 in yet another set is interesting. Seems as though the complaints of too many one-off Iron Man minifigs has been heard. Anyway, I won’t protest great little set with two main characters in the MCU. Wish it came with Whiplash. Could we be seeing a new comic-inspired Cap? and why must these great comic figures be relegated to 4+ sets? Mr. Negative could be in Peter’s apartment, I guess. Strange-sounding set, if you ask me. Disappointed we didn’t see any more come out of Civil War or Spider-Verse for this year; and why are they so averse to CA:TFA?
  13. With that profile picture and your love for Dedra… yeah, we know. I’m going with this theory. This makes the most sense so far, although I have no idea what it could possibly be from recent shows (I’d love a certain remake from Skeleton Crew, but that ship would be actually be interesting). Maybe a Partisan X-Wing (with Two-Tubes, of course) but that would be an interesting set choice. According to a guy on r/Legoleaks, he says that the battlepack includes four of the same 327th troopers. Could be nothing, could be everything. I’ve been thinking this for years. As a newish LSW collector myself, I’m missing one of the main characters because…, well, why, exactly? Yes, Lando products from Funko and Hasbro have historically been shelf warmers—most of the time they’re not ESB-based, though—but we could stand to get one of the most iconic SW characters in a set. Furthermore, Han seems to have been neglected outside of ANH, and just in 2023, after five years, did we get Leia in something other than her white dress and cinnamon buns. It speaks to a greater truth. (One must destroy—no not that.) For being a company that is proud to speak of diversity and inclusion, I see very little diversity that matters. The disproportionate amount of Luke variants I have compared to Han, Leia, Lando, even Anakin, is concerning to me. To my understanding, Lando was a trailblazer for that group of people to be seen in sci-fi, and yet how many figures have we gotten of him in even the past 25 years? Padme has even fewer minifigs. The only reason we have a healthy amount of Reys and Finns is that the films in which they starred were produced at LSW’s height of production. I’m not one to preach diversity and inclusion, but TLG is; and I find their hypocrisy just as upsetting. Their “solution” to a lack of diversity was switching out the heads of stormtroopers (which, HA, we don’t see much of them in 2025). So the bad guy red-shirts look like me? Big whoop. Again, we need diversity that counts, not what just fulfills criteria. Alright, I’ll get off my soap box and talk about the new rumors. 327th BP sounds like a rip-off, sadly. It’s a shame that BPs aren’t the cheap impulse buys they once were. The ratio of Double Death Troopers and Night Troopers feels off, similar to how it was with the 2020 Sith Trooper BP (whoever wanted an army of Sith Jet Troopers over an army of Sith Troopers, raise your hand). Plus, I already have a custom Double Death Trooper, which I consider absolute perfection, so an official LEGO minifig would never live up to that. It feels like a waste of resources to devote two out of potentially four unique designs to a trooper of which I only need two. AT-AT Driver Helmet? Seriously? Guess it shows that not every cancelled idea will never see the light of day.
  14. Speaking of annoying UI changes… I rate this above Bricklink’s, but that’s as much of an accomplishment as the Rise of Skywalker being better than Attack of the Clones. I do hate that my email notifications are reset. I was beginning to panic that Thanos had snapped away everyone but me. (Which I’m unsure if that would be a compliment that he finds me useful or an insult that I wouldn’t be strong enough to defeat him.)
  15. Agreed as far as likelihood for the 2025 slot. If Daredevil can make a splash in pop culture again, a Fisk Tower in a few years with Defender and Spidey-related figures would be excellent. Either way, though, the sales of each set are absolutely dependent on how well they do the building and figures. The Daily Bugle is an all-in-one Spider-Man experience. A hypothetical Oscorp has to deliver on that expectation while providing something fresh to collectors, which is possible to do given the wide variety Spidey’s villains offer. (Plus we still need a comic MJ. No excuses.) Fisk Tower can accomplish the same if they lean into the Daredevil/Spidey-adjacent side of Marvel Comics. *laughs in Clone bro* Pleasant surprise. I’m baffled that it took us this long to get a dude in a white suit as an official figure. I’ll just blame the $50 price on them paying royalties to Sam Rami and pray they don’t alter the deal further. Agreed on the need for updated figures. We especially need arm-printing on Tobey’s Spidey. Not the biggest AOU guy, but the Quinjet looks clean. Hoping the build can go great alongside my 2023 Quinjet on display. News of Quicksilver again? Let’s just hope it comes true this time. I’d appreciate if the Hulk and Ultron Prime could be included as well. Too soon. (Like, I finally watched AOU over the holidays last year. Even though I knew it was coming, his death still gutted me. Hawkeye and the twins were definitely the strongest aspects of that movie.) Might need some clarification. Is this most recent Quicksilver rumor false, the most recent Quinjet rumor altogether false, or were you speaking of another experience from before and these new rumors are true?
  16. I will note how when the OT was spoken of as the true, essential Star Wars, that the ST fans came out to defend their favourite films. Personally speaking, I thought it more likely that PT fans would come out to defend having Prequel sets on shelves than ST fans. Seems we’re not all so different after all. I am by no means putting down anyone’s favourite film or series when I say that OT is Star Wars at its core. That said, yeah, the OT is core Star Wars. Those films have stuck around in public consciousness for nearly 50 years; time will tell if the PT and ST have the same staying power (directly correlated with merchandise sales). I like all eras of SW (except Acolyte—which is actually terrible TV—since I absolutely had to let you know), and regardless I know everyone has their favourite era. I believe a good solution (and one that seems to have been lost for just this year; hopefully it can be brought back) is to keep the OT cast available perennially, but rotate PT, ST, CW, and Mando cast every couple years. (R1, Solo, and rest of Disney+ SW should be sprinkled throughout.) In that case, it’s high time we had at least a few Sequel sets grace shelves once more. I feel as though I’m pointing to the blatantly obvious as this genius idea, but TLG showing a heavy preference toward TCW this year has me concerned. It’s not as though we’ve been deprived of CW content or their main characters. Neither have we been of Mando and Grogu, to be fair. Meanwhile, the OT crew is almost inaccessible, the ST crew are no where to be found. Disagree with most of what you said here, however I do slightly agree on “ruined Lucas’s canon”. I adore TFA. It’s one of my favourites. That said, when you stop and think about the plot of the movie, the movie on it own reverses everything the OT accomplished: the Empire strikes back (now with FO branding), the (New) Republic has been wiped out, the (New) Jedi Order is dead, and Force users are rarely seen, another planet-killer is built (now in extra-large), Leia is the leader of a group of freedom fighters, married to the cause, like in ANH, Han is a lone smuggler with only Chewie at his side, married to the adventure, like in ANH, and Luke is alone on a planet, with no hope he’ll get off it, hidden from the galaxy, like in ANH, (refusing to pass on what he has learned, might I add). I don’t need everyone to be superhumans or for everything to be perfect, but continuation of already established character development should be bare minimum in my not-so-humble opinion. Yoda and perhaps Obi-Wan in the OT are different than how they were in TPM or RotS. That should be true of what the main trio. Just so it’s clear, I like the ST films in spite of their flaws, this included. Given it’s a remake of the beautiful 2015 model, I expect nothing but greater detail. A fully realized cockpit with room for both Fetts and believable surroundings would be amazing. If you’re talking the cargo hold interior seen in Mando S2, maybe not. Given the complex Technic structure I assume will be inside to strengthen the model, I doubt there will be room. (I could see a seismic charge launcher to make up for that lack, which I think is a hilarious idea.) Just punched the numbers into a US inflation calculator, and the 2015 Slave 1 would cost ≈$270 in today’s money. So I believe we ought to expect at least $30 worth of improvements. However, I remain cautious whether it can be as good as, if not better than, the 2015 model. Photo leaks can’t come soon enough.
  17. Thank you, although it’s just a rip from LEGO Marvel Superheroes. The Battinson head works shockingly well. Funnily enough the newly revealed Blacktron book fig proves your point. The bright white detail on the legs brightens the design up too much, while the classic design works by giving the figure a shadowy presence because your eye is drawn toward the torso and it alone. I also believe that proper utilization of classic LEGO colours on a figure often looks brilliant. It’s why Silver Age designs adapted into LEGO, such as CMF Wolverine or Daily Bugle Spidey, work so well. (Also why I hate that Octan no longer uses classic green and red in their logo. I can see it as a gimmick for a City set or two, but there hasn’t been much Octan outside of LEGO City since.) That Fornite Dummy is cursed. Never realized that the silver part on his belly was meant to be a metal spine. You sir just sent me down a rabbit trail… how have I never seen that concept art before? Looks amazing, especially the Dummy one. That bit of insight has given me so much more apperception for those early CMFs. Now I can’t rest until I have every single one, from Series 1 to… whatever series at which LCU stopped. You’ve doomed me financially. Unless Megatron for once called a peace accords with the Autobots, I’d be inclined to say no. Thank you! …Oh yeah, of course. Now obviously, I know what purple-13 is, but for our Seatron buddy way yonder, explain—in very simple, kindergarten-level words—what purple-13 is. Officially canon that Krell fell to the dark side because he was showed one too many MandR videos by Clone Force 99. It’s been more of a roller coaster over the past few months for me. News of a Spider-Verse set, only for it be $50. News of a Civil War Airport battle, only for Bucky to have the wrong haircolour. News of a U-Wing, only for it be significantly downscaled again. Potential of an Ewok Village, (what else could we derive from “Redwood”?) only to be an unobtainable Death Star. News of a Spider-Man 2 set and Spider-Verse CMF to be combated with disappointing news for LSW in the summer. No Soup sets is probably worst of all, though. One of the biggest blockbusters of the summer won’t be getting a single LEGO set. We truly live in a society. No, she(?) obviously means DC characters in the R-tier, which far and above exceeds the S-tier: for instance, Absolute Man.
  18. So those are confirmed to be the two initially unnamed minifigs? That’s not too bad I suppose, although I still yearn for a Durge. If it’s 2003 CW-based, Ventress is guaranteed to have the white eyes, since that’s how she appeared in that series. That speculation is based solely off Renown’s hint referencing the micro series, though. Ironically, the full-white eyes would look less soulless than full-blue eyes. I stand absolutely corrected. If not for the gimmicky X-Wing mech, the cheapest set Luke would be in would be the $80 Skiff. Like I said in the 2024 discussion, Star Wars is about the characters as much as it is the cool ships and massive armies. That third toyetic aspect is sorely missing from LSW nowadays. I firmly believe a kid ought to be able to watch ANH, walk into their toy store, and pick out and play with a set that has the main cast. At the very least, Luke, Han, Leia and Vader need to be readily accessible to any new SW fan. Arguments for the PT, ST, CW and Mando casts could be made, but the OT is Star Wars, and those films still speak to young people today. The way those films and their legacy carry on for a kid is through the toys, whether Kenner figures or LEGO minifgs. The toys are dependent on Star Wars for inspiration, while Star Wars is dependent on the toys to establish a lifelong connection with the series. Cool new trooper looks and refreshed starfighter designs are a dime a dozen; no one can replace the main trio of whatever era you love most. That the cheapest sets on shelves are comprised of helmeted figures is concerning. My solution would be either a $55 Luke’s X-Wing with Luke, Artoo, Leia, Han, and Chewie; or a $20 Landspeeder with Luke, Ben, Threepio, and a Tusken. Here’s the kicker, though: keep those sets around for as long as the minifig designs allow, and let them become small, unoffensive staples of any LEGO store and any retailer. If they do this with the UCS Falcon for the adults, why not for the kids also? Spoiler for Skeleton Crew finale:
  19. Hot take: Baxter Building can come off as a bit ugly to the uninformed. Plus, it seems that the 4 Logo is only featured on the top in most cases, so it wouldn’t have the ease of iconicity that Avengers Tower has. They could play around with the design, sure, but they can do the same with Oscorp and give it a killer of a bad guy building design (my go-to design-wise has been and always will be the LMS1&2 design, although it isn’t comic-accurate). In the latter’s case, people will be attracted by the obvious Spider-Man connection, as opposed an untested connection with a newly rebooted superhero team. We seem to be running low on options at this point. Since we’re talking villain modulars, Fisk Tower might go over pretty well, especially since Daredevil: Born Again airs this year.
  20. To be honest, I’ve only ever done it for NWH. Had to decide between buying the Sanctum Workshop or the Batman Tumbler at Target, and walked away with the one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I guess I also bought 75299 on Jan 1st, but that was after Mando S2 had finished airing. I’m hyped for the FF movie, about as much as I was looking forward to see (Doc Ock in) NWH.
  21. Those six words just made my week. :D Cannot overstate how excited I am for a modern Spider-Man 2 set. One of my all time favourite films front to back… I honestly don’t care if we get any other Sony-Verse sets, a set based off this scene is all I need. Okay, a Alchemex Collider or Prowler bike would be fantastic too. Oh, how do the youth of my day say it: “Like, bro, absolutely based opinion.” Seriously though, as someone with zero nostalgia factor playing a role in my viewing of the film, SM2 shines above not just it’s direct predecessor and sequel, but above most other superhero films all together—the Spider-Verse films being the exception for me. *laughs in Jod Nod-Silvo-Crimson Jack-whatever Pick-Pokett called him* In other (old) news, FF set sounds exactly as I expected, so not too surprised. That said, the bump in price from $50 to $60 is gonna make me sit this one out on June 1st. I could justify paying $50 since I’d like to have the set before I see the movie, but at $60 I would feel cheated. (At this point, waiting for discounts doesn’t feel rewarding anymore; it just feels like that I didn’t get scammed.) The Hulk Monster Truck sounds so insane that I might just buy it.
  22. I believe I’m the only one here mildly excited for a V-19 Torrent. Sure, it’s no Headhunter or V-Wing, but it’s arguably one of the more iconic Clone Wars vehicles, besides the ARC-170. (For me, I always associate V-Wings with the Empire—probably because of TBB—and Headhunters aren’t that unique looking, per se.) The news that it’ll come with Ventress is intriguing: If it’s based off the micro series, I hope Anakin is the second figure. As much as Clone Armour Obi-Wan is a coveted figure of mine, I believe that Durge would be a more fitting opponent. If it’s based off the canon show, then obviously TCW armoured Obi-Wan. (That man looks so good in clone armour, I had to pause the episode, jump out of my Disney+ player, and look up TCW Obi on Bricklink—only to be horrified by those stark blue eyes.) Clone fatigue is the only thing keeping my excitement for this set down. Still, I’m a sucker for cool and unique starfighters, so I’m looking forward to it. Another buildable figure? Good Greef Karga, they’ve gone mad! I don’t even care what this one will be. I think the final set will be a Y-Wing. It might be Clone Wars based, since Anakin was Gold Leader if I recall correctly. I would love an OT Y-Wing for the sake of an OT set this year, but really only if Vader’s TIE is included. If there isn’t a single OT playset this year I say we riot. This year for LSW is definitely looking bleak. Creativity in set choice seems to be lacking, instead opting for a paint-by-numbers strategy prioritizing Clone sets first and everything else secondary. “We need a Mando set for the kiddies,” becomes the 4+ N-1. “We need a microfighter with a fan-favourite character so it’ll sell out and justify the line’s existence,” becomes the Plo Koon SF. “We need small but overpriced collector sets for the OT and PT fanatic in his 50s who’s collection is starting to eat him out of house and home,” becomes the midi-Home One and Acclamator. “We need sets that will appease clone army-builders,” becomes the ARC, the 327th, the UT-AT, and who knows how many more. “We need more sets that those SW Youtubingers will buy to livestream and display in their studio,” becomes all the buildable junk we’re getting. I’m mildly hyped for the UT-AT and Galactic Marines since both are new (if Ree-Yees can get a figure, why not Snowtroopers in maroon?). MTT being a CW set is disappointing; a brown MTT could’ve given us so many Ep. 1 characters we haven’t had in years. I personally don’t get the hype for 327th, am I stupid? The U-Wing didn’t excite me all too much at first since it’ll be undersized (again), but anything non-Clone-based is something celebratory. UCS Slave 1 being $300 is slightly upsetting, since the Tudor Corner is $240 for around 3000 pieces. I mourn the loss of the slim chance we’d get a TFA playset or a smaller Skeleton Crew set with SM-33 and Brutus. Rats, BrickBob Studpants beat me to the zany speculation that the Turbo Tank is based off The Believer. Anyway, I’d genuinely love the set to come with Miggs Mayfield and a Shore Trooper (lunch tray included). I don’t believe it’d be too harmful for it to be Mando-based given it’s the smallest tank yet.
  23. I could buy into this theory; I take that back, I already have. Now you’ve got my bank account worried. He seems to have a source high up in LEGO, so it’s not entirely impossible. Maybe the word that Gold Leader wouldn’t be included was the first news on a potential Y-Wing he’s gotten so far. As for the possibility of Gold Leader being canceled, maybe the actor’s estate doesn’t want anymore LEGO minifigs of him? I think that’s what happened to any proposed Stan Lee minifigs since he passed. If the Yavin IV set was still in production, I’d suggest that maybe this could be a Finch Dallow situation (in which we get Gold 2 or something, which wouldn’t be too bad if done well), but now I’m just spit-balling. First, if you haven’t been already, welcome to Eurobricks. Second, going off what I was saying just above, maybe he’s also referring to this in addition to everything else, maybe not. (This is reminding of the game Clue—if so, I believe we need a definite number of cards to which he’s referring.) I do believe plenty more people would buy a Muunilist gunship over a Coruscant Guardship (i.e. me). I do agree that we should wait a while before another. Could be; could be both. Glad that Renown has given us yet another hint for us to chew on. Not trying to be rude at all, but I hope we don’t this an annual tradition anytime Renown pipes in with a hint. I also seriously doubt he was drunk. I believe he was trying to tell us with his 1984 quote that he nearly lost his source at TLG or he did but now has a new one, and in his later post was trying to throw us off the truth. A day ago I wouldn’t have been all too surprised if he stopped posting all together; the fact that he still is alive is promising.
  24. Finally updated the profile pic to Soup’s Mech™, with a bit of Fantastical flair, of course. (Forgot to put a watermark on the other photos, so that’s why it’s showing up only now.) …that makes so much sense. Freedom of press in early America led to newspapers acting as businesses, so advertisers needed to find new ways of saving money. I love America. I still favour the Us, though. TLBM sets overflowed the markets with LEGO Batman and DC as a result, thus creating an apathy by the consumers in subsequent years, thus leading LEGO to downsize the DC theme to just Batman, thus creating further apathy toward LEGO Batman, thus beginning the downfall of the LEGO Omni-Multi-Poly-verse. It all connects. Dew it. We must stop this insanity they call sanity. It wasn’t much of a fight, to say the least. Completely agree. To be fair, I don’t think MandoKnight necessarily agreed with those reviews, but there’s plenty who do. For me, Road Runner from the Looney Tunes CMF is one of my favourties, and that’s probably simply and only because of the character design in the cartoons. Meanwhile, both Hawkeye and Echo from Marvel Series were very unpopular for most people, yet had starkly different levels of detail. I do appreciate the more detailed minifigs (Moon Knight comes to mind immediately), but you can’t beat a solid design, no matter how many lines are on the arms and legs.
  25. Fair. I thought it’d be a nice “classic LEGO when they encouraged imagination” touch. Nonetheless, it’s undeniably in Luigi’s favour. (One of these days y’all Brits are gonna have to tell me what words in your dictionary include an extra U or not. I just found out’ve been straight-up misspelling glory while I assumed I was being defined.) I don’t know. To my very limited knowledge on this topic, ChatGPT can create character profiles based off any existing fictional character, so it’s not entirely impossible. RiddlerDC seemed like a Mk. 2 version, where he said mostly the same thing but with a slightly improved technique. Only thing that seems impossible for a computer to do was those Turtle stickers (especially the one without his shell, lol). Maybe a human mixed with A.I.? Whatever it was, the Turtle had to be more than a man. He was a symbol. Thank you. Anything for the Aslume. This place has opened my eyes. It’s more than just insanity; it’s truth. That’s what makes him so dangerous. He could look like anyone… Dude looks like Howard Stark or Walt Disney, honestly. *sad noises in Sith Lord* The mech is the bane of insanity, so no. …or like how Burger King is inside every U.S. military base across the world (which is really funny since more people associate McDonalds with America than BK). LONG LIVE BL—wait I mean I Heart M-Tron. (Please, Spirits, I’m begging like a turtle for some good night’s sleep tonight.) Thank you! I’ll do so shortly. ;)
