  1. Yessir, but yeah, Jim Butcher said it. It's the eyes that get me... if they were a tab smaller, I'd really love it. It's nice to see you exploring new themes and ideas etc.
  2. Stop being so negative. If you don't like the Clone Wars, I guess you're allowed to express your opinions- but stop ruining everyone else's time by flooding the forum with all of this "anti anime" stuff too. I don't like anime either, but I'm not complaining. Besides, these figs are awesome. Oh, and welcome to Eurobricks, and thanks for today's news!
  3. I'd take Luke's, from ROTJ. But I'm not the hugest SW fan, I'd take anything so long as I had a ls to duel with.
  4. Lego Figures have their own smile. No nose whatsoever, dot eyes and a mouth, sometimes a beard, all in the same fasion. 360'ing wrists, moving arms, short, overly-stubby legs. And wedge-shaped torsos. If you ask me, we never needed anime attacks on LEGO in the first place. Lego already made a trademark instead of the bulgy eyes and emotes, as well as cute ball-shaped creatures. No sense to add anime. But if you're willing to like it, by all means like.
  5. Everyone should post pictures if they want. I've only got the Tie Advanced UCS and the Jedi Starfighter to show, I hate the starfighter but not with my guts, and I love the ship. I'll buy the new DS if it's any good.
  6. I haven't seen the movie. I like the sets a lot, I don't think any modding is neccesary- they're special in their own way. I haven't seen the movie, but I hate both that and the cartoon from first glance. I thought about giving it a second chance. Maybe it's the anime, no offence anime fans. But seriously, I love the look of the Prix and the cars, the truck's okay but I hate the open trailer so much... I won't be getting em though, but I'll like them from afar.
  7. Way too big, but way too cool. I'm amazed by the technique, it looks like it could go fast and it's well built. Probably my favourite Cave Racer, but it's going to hit some walls on the turns!
  8. What the... But Mon Calamari for the win. Ackbar will make an interesting figure, this "Mon Mothma" I'm just learning about will probably be an overall unique figure, and as said before a Rebel Transport inside the ship and a hanger for an A-Wing, perhaps a squadron leader, in a different colouring. Smaller Rebel sets could be realeased to fill the hanger. Plus, the Rebel Scout Speeder would likely go perfectly with that set. We've not only got rebels, but another vehicle for them. The second's pointless, Cloud City in general wouldn't be too bad if it had some kind of actual improvement (over 2003's), but the Slave I's a joke. Two Twin Pod Cars, and some other kind of vehicles! A long, well built corridor? The first has too much Minifigure appeal in my opinion. Palpatine's office is unimportant, it's just the figures. No one's going to really use it, and what if it ends up like ULD from 2005? I love the figures, but it's digging it's own hole and just doesn't go with anything.
  9. Never liked Speed Racer, but the cars look not too bad.
  10. The Battank is probably made up, but reasonable and isn't like "Batman's 4X4 W/MISSILES AND ROCKETS AND LOADS OF GUNS". The Batdragster actually could be real. Remember the Batmobile in Batman Returns? It splits up and makes a vehicle about half the size, with a similar and highly modular look. I'm guessing they just didn't know what to call it. Is it worth buying all new Batmans? I only got Two-Face and Catwoman, both 5/5s.
  11. Wait, I'm extremely late but there's a last minute character I want to submit. It's a rebel trooper from the battlepack, but instead of the usual head, could I have the smirk head? The one Belloq and the new Indy's have? As well as Draco from the new castle. If you don't have it which i don't blame you, could I just have the generic "bad guy" head aka Bruce Wayne head? If that doesn't work, just a rebel? If yuo have none, ignore me. The personality is just some annoying cannon fodder character who always seems to be the butt of jokes and at the butt of enemy rifles. He's sent on suicide missions or to jump out of cover first to see if the sniper left his post. He's just a generic but smartass trooper who dies very often. I can make a ship for future comics, for sure!
  12. I guess it's time for me to shut up, 2 things in a row already posted up. Time to hermit until these sets are released. :P
  13. Just checking to make sure that people know about the Batman Instructions on the LEGO site. All four new sets now have their instructions, in case anyone proof to back up their opinions. The instructions maybe were overlooked? I'd be kind of happy to hear about new instructions of new sets coming out gone live. I personally think all four are well designed. This is probably already posted or useless news, but for those who want a sneak peak at the designs before they are officially released, I hope this helps out. http://www1.lego.com/eng/buildinginstructions/default.asp
  14. If you haven't read Brick's now closed topic about new Harry Potter sets, let me tell you now how great it would be to have some HP back. 2007 was the end- Umbridge, Death Eater, and a great new Snape, along with great thestrals, a wonderful castle and finally, the greenhouse. Along with the generic figures. I haven't seen this is real life or built it (see my wimpy thread about my cousin) and haven't heard much press or anything at all about this set. It looks perfect! Non <insert that tiresome argument> and classical, despite the use of Scala. I'm wondering if it's worth buying. It's a year old now, it sounds just plain dumb to get. But I bought the Temple Escape and, honestly, felt pretty sour. I wish I had just waited for the big temple for Crystal Skull, along with the amphibious vehicle... or better yet, the Castle. It's never too late to buy anything, but the Temple of Akator looks just as nice. Maybe if new HP sets were out, it would be easier. So... boiling it down... is it worth getting? Should I invest over a hundred in the castle? Or hold off yet again and buy that temple? I don't know about the temple, but I've liked that HP for a while. On the other hand, it's old news compared to the Indy sets. Any ideas?
  15. It seems more like a display model, but the cheapest I could find was 90. And no, the Slave I Jango is generally 20 bucks more expensive than ULD. That's kind of a waste when I think about it. I've lost some of my interest. Any suggestions? I've got a clean pallete. My reason for not buying the Slave I is, despite it being my ALLTIME favourite ship, I've already bought it. It's in pieces and is missing, but there's no sense in buying another if you ask me. I liked Cloud City, but that's got a huge price tag for only 600 pieces. Forget that. I wish we could get another Cloud City set! With the Twin Pod Car, more Bespin Guards, Lando, and the works. But the first one was blocky compared to circular, so i guess that's what would make it different. EDIT: I like the Cantina, but that's so expensive right now. Plus, it seems to be a playset... :(. The final blow is that nothing will go with it. But still, I love the sandspeeder, and I wish they'd make an Imperial Spy like in LSW The Complete Saga.
  16. Can anyone give me an opinion on what I may buy? Ultimate Lightsaber Duel/Darth Vader Transformation (2005) or Slave I/Jedi Starfighter (2002) Thoughts? Complaints? Comments? Suggestions? I need all the help I can get. Suggest something else if you like! I'd like to buy one or the other, but any great idea could change my mind easily.
  17. http://www.brickset.com/search.aspx?Theme=...n&year=2008 Here are all of the Batman 2008 sets, and I'd like your opinion. For me: MR FREEZE/BATBUGGY: I hate that flame. I just hate it. It sticks out moronically, I just wanna rip it out and burn it up. The buggy's poorly designed, but it's kind of "cute" and great for a slightly impulsive and cheap model. I actually like the small contraption of Mr. Freeze. The mega- ice gun is pretty neat if you ask me. Also, a chance to get both new figures cheap, of course! And it's Batman. PENGUIN/ROBIN'S SUB: Finally, an underwater duel. But this time, it's the nifty penguin versus the unskilled Robin. Robin's vehicle looks far too high tech for me, but still it looks like a formidable sub and I love it as an impulse. The giant sub... I actually like it. Reminds me of the one in the movie, where he rises up with the baby. It's somewhat different from the Batcave one, which I don't have though, so I can't compare. I like the old-time submarine look and the penguins look neat for army collectors (no joke). It looks pretty well designed. Hating the missile though, and admitedly, the first two sets look like they're going to be unfairly bashed for juniorization. HARLEY QUINN/BATBIKE: Harley's got a nice, rip-roaring "clowny" 4X4 Monster Truck, complete with cartoonish elements and nice colours. Special detail seems to have been put into this model, including that sweet hammer. It's a simple mechanism, but still will be very fun to play around with. The accesories this year are phenomenal, with actual objectives (jewels, good enemies with fair fights and weapons, etc) and awesome vehicles and figures. The batbike/cycle looks fairly impulsive, which is totally unacceptable for a set of this size. I hope it's improved, or something happens with it. Maybe hidden, unfolding guns? Otherwise, this set looks to be a potential "buyer" and hopefully "keeper". Harley Quinn is the first Jester of all Lego time. JOKER/TUMBLER: The best and most expensive. The first thing I thought was the joker riding an ice cream rocket or something like that or an ice cream cannon, which was dumb and incredibly <insert that tiresome argument>, but now when you see the truth it's just the Joker using a smart scheme- radiation ice cream sold to the kiddies to drive them nuts. A nice vehicle, I love the ice cream wad and missile here. The figures are again substantially great, I love the new batman. The Tumbler looks top-notch, and is a must-buy. The missile's nice, but without any interesting mechanisms like we saw in the movie like releasable spikes, this set could have gained from such mechanisms. Overall: MR. FREEZE/BATBUGGY: 6/10 PENGUIN/ROBIN'S SUB: 7/10 HARLEY QUINN/BATBIKE: 9/10 JOKER/TUMBLER: 10/10
  18. A lot of these are just based on Lugnet or other reviews, like BtB. Lugnet gave Wookiee Attack around a 60, and I'll admit I was annoyed by all these "holier than thou" comments. "Poor kid who buys this..." and all this stuff that, when you see it, you feel bad and don't want to buy it anymore. That's what happened with the Rogue Shadow, if anyone can remember. The Gungan Patrol got mediocre too, and though the Slave I and Naboo Speeder got fairly good scores, the Ultimate Lightsaber Duel set bombed drastically. I was obsessed with the lightsaber duel at one time! I remember wanting it so badly, but then it got poor reviews and I lost interest immediately. I can't help it, and I'm sick of all of these "comments". Much as this forum is about the classic space and town, especially lugnet, they have no right to bombard the newer sets that are so different just out of "anger" about this big change. It's not my problem, they'll become MY "classics" anyways!
  19. LEGO Star Wars has been magnificent, but some sets have been beaten on, or were never even heard of by some fans. Some people don't even remember entire THEMES or break-offs from Star Wars ever being created. Episode III only had one big year, this year is Episode 2. Most people remember, but few heard of: Wookiee Attack Ultimate Lightsaber Duel and from other times... Naboo Speeder Gungan Patrol Boba Fett's Slave I (Original) Cloud City AT-ST 2001 These are just off the top of my head. I got the Wookiee Attack, Naboo Speeder and Gungan Patrol, as well as the Slave I, and I loved all four- especially Wookiee Attack! This is meant to recognize the sets that didn't do so well in the past few years. List as many as you can think of.
  20. WOOKIEE ATTACK 1. Rebuild Dragonflyer from Wookiee Attack 2. Rebuild Droids from Wookiee Attack 3. Purchase pieces from Droid Tank that were eaten by my dog 4. Rebuild Droid Tank 5. Find missing Spider Droid project and finish building.
  21. Ah well, let it be.
  22. Alpha Team?! ALPHA TEAM?! Alpha team. I can't believe you actually put that on! It's not even close! And Life on Mars? I ADORED LIFE ON MARS! One of the better themes if you ask me!
  23. Nothing's flogged if it has great innovation. Much as I hated Exo, they tried 5 times harder than Bionicle did to survive. Lego has made no effort to stop flogging, but I remember and love many of the older Bionicle characters, from way back when I was 6. I loved the Rahi and Toa, but only got 4 toa and no Rahi. No sense in buying that stuff now.
  24. Sorry Veers, did I forget my thermal detonator? For the rebels!
  25. I loathe Bionicle with a passion, but still, you've got an amazing knack for drawing great figures! Keep it up, maybe do some more to show people. I like them both equally, especially the mask of dupe and all.
