LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
CloneCommando99 replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
As someone who has loved and been obsessed with Star Wars since my father introduced me to it when I was 4 I whole heartedly agree. This next bit I know that I may be coming off as 🤓 so my apologies but I feel I need to say it. Clones are great, this is coming from someone who adores the Clone Wars and loves the Bad Batch, but they’re canonically only a part of galactic history for around 5 years, and mostly only fighting on specific outer-rim worlds. (all the coloured P2 legions for only 2 of them.) Stormtroopers on the other hand are present throughout the entirety of the galaxy for an expanse of 30 years. The vast majority of live-action Star Wars content has featured them. This allows kids, like I for one did, who want to keep their battles from contradicting canon, to have breathing space and let their imaginations run wild with the events that could happen. I wasn’t able to easily amass even a squad of stormtroopers back then and now that I have the funds to I want Lego to make a normal stormtrooper battlepack so that I and kids who feel the same as me will have an easier time of building up their imperial garrisons. Even rebels aren’t as versatile as the generic stormtrooper as their uniforms kept changing over the period of the galactic civil war. The only rebel variant that even gets a mile close to the imperial stormtrooper in versatility is the rebel fleet trooper but even they are only around for 10 years. Once again, my apologies if that bored you guys and made me sound 🤓. I wouldn’t say that Solid Brix is the problem. I feel that Mandr and LifeBricks are the bigger perpetrators with this issue. I personally blame Mandr for the toxicity of the community towards modern clones. For crying out loud, the helmet holes aren’t the end of the world! -

There’s a bunch of cool extremely common storm trooper variants that could include more variety such as your mention of the incinerator trooper: Flame-trooper, Heavy trooper, scout trooper, Vader’s fist trooper, Shock trooper or even a stormtrooper commander would be some variety. However if there was a battlepack with 4 of the same trooper it would be stormtroopers as we usually see them patrol in squads of 4. But despite my desire to expand my generic imperial forces. There are some battlepacks that would be cool. 1) Imperial army trooper battlepack, 2) Night Trooper battlepack, 2) TK trooper Battlepack, Purge Trooper battlepack (most unlikely as Lego won’t do FO sets), imperial commando battlepack. If Lego won’t do a full imperial stormtrooper battlepack I’d prefer Imperial Army to Night-troopers as the IA are more common and thus more versatile in Mocs and play for kids. As opposed to the night-troopers who so far have only been seen on one area of one planet. -

That is exactly why I don’t see night troopers being in a battle-pack rather than 2 or more showing up in a much larger set where Lego would justify the multiple printing costs a bit more. Once again, we need a normal stormtrooper battlepack before we get any more special variants, night troopers are cool but normal stormtroopers are more predominant in all content and therefore should be more accessible in quantity to kids than they have been in the last two years. I too would prefer the Death-Star playset to be more focused on generic imperial military personnel. However since the inclusion of named characters is inevitable, I’m just hoping that they are ones that are desirable. I also do agree that we need a normal stormtrooper battle pack so we can easily garrison the upcoming Death Star playset. -

Yeah, I could see that with Lego’s laziness recently. But if we did get Sloane again I would hope that it would be her grand admiral variant. Or at least, if they use the same uniform, have a new female officer cap with hair bun mould. Yularen would be great to get. However unlikely as he was an exclusive May 4th promo in 2015. I still would love it if they did give us Yularen. Also an excellent suggestion. Once again I would love to see any of these imperial army and Navy commanders. And I could see them having a decent chance of happening. Tagge and Motti more than Romodi. That is a pretty good prediction, I think it will end up being something like that but with one less figure (ideally Leia). Lego could kill two birds with one stone by making Han and Luke double as the stormtroopers for the set. As TBH a Death Star set without Stormtroopers would be weird and feel devoid of a proper garrison. -

Nah. We’ve been waiting for one based off Rebels for almost a decade now. A Security gunship with 7th fleet stormtroopers (printed pauldron) is the way to go. However I would also love it if the did one based off peridia but with a normal stormtrooper battlepack coinciding with it. Just out of interest, who do you guys think is the most obscure imperial officer (or trooper) who has a good chance of being in the Death-Star playset? -

I would prefer it if they saved the Patrol Gunship for an imperial army builder set with generic stormtroopers or shocktroopers. My honest prediction for the Battle on Peridia is that it’s going to be the rune stones at the top of the tower and a buildable wolf. Maybe with a under-chamber with the holomap. (As then Thrawn and Enoch would make sense.) -

Well, stormtrooper battlepacks do make sense to have 4 stormtroopers because we, and kids, very often see them in the movies and shows patrolling in squads of 4. Exactly. In the end they’re kids. It’s nice to have some specialised units that the kids can spend on their special missions during play. I’m regretting that I talked about me having had enough of clone battle-packs due to the poor reception they get. Sorry I started a comment war. -

The more I think about it the more it seems likely to me. Looking at the minifigure selection of the Anniversary set, being 3 stormtroopers and 3 rebel fleet troopers, could this set be a bolster pack of sorts for both Yavin and the upcoming Death Star set, perchance? Even if not, when is the next full fledged stormtrooper battlepack going to be? I’m sick and tired of hearing people demand clone battlepacks only for them to complain when they get exactly what they freaking want. Looking at you LifeBricks, Mandr and 95% of online Lego Clone Stans. -

Agreed the trailer looks fire. Fortress inquisitorius and star destroyer please. However I honestly think they shouldn’t have focused on Morgan Elsbeth. Someone older like Tarkin, Kallus or most especially Thrawn would be more interesting. IMO. It still looks very interesting and I will 100% be watching it. -

As much as that would be awesome, it’s unlikely as both Moff Gideon’s Bunker and the Death Star playset would make an imperial base play-set like Tantis obsolete. Hopefully at some point though. It would slap so hard if it included Scorch, Republic Crosshair, Jorus C’baoth and imperial commandos. -

I’m actually surprised that The Acolyte doesn’t appear to be getting any sets. Do you guys think that Lucasfilm and/ or Lego don’t have that much faith in it? Or are all the Disney Show sets not selling as well as the Movie and clone wars stuff. -

Seeing that Lego has started phasing out cloth capes in other themes, how long do you guys think we have until we get plastic stormtrooper pauldrons (in the style of Dr Strange cape) I honestly think it would be a great idea and would make the pauldrons look better. -
Exactly, just like those £10 gimmick marvel sets from last year. All Lego needs to do is make a minifigure scale Bat-Pod add in the Dark Knight trilogy (best live action) versions of Man and Jonkler and it is an automatic best-seller. It’s things like these that makes me think that Lego’s trying to get rid of the DC license. I really want Lego to make a Kingdom Come Red Robin for the customisation opportunities. IYKYK. 😈

I’m actually curious why Lego’s not been making Bad Batch and Andor sets. They are not just better content than BOBF but they also have more cool vehicles and characters that kids would prefer in comparison to say the Mod Bikers. Can someone please explain to me why Lego refuses to make Bad Batch sets despite it being the main show for the majority of the child demographic. I would love a Rho-Class shuttle and CX clone assassin ship. -

Are we thinking that Bob’s starfighter is going to be a conventional Delta 7 or ETA 2 Jedi starfighter or Lego’s going to make a completely original build? -
Ok so we know that as of the Batman mech coming this summer that mechs are coming to DC. Who do we think will get one in the future? Ones that actually make sense/ I would like: Lex Luther, Green Lantern, Steel, Sinestro, Bat-Wing, Blue Beetle, Brainiac and Cyborg. (Let me know if I missed any characters that actually make sense) Ones Lego will realistically make: Jonkler, 3 more Batman and Harley Quin.

Agreed. However I wouldn’t mind if it was Pink and had an astromech socket for R2 KT. Do we have any predictions on what the second figure in that set may be? I believe it was confirmed to not be an astromech. I liked Mandr’s theory of it being a Phase1 clone pilot, despite not being a fan of his channel. I would love it if it was Fordo. Mostly because it would shut up all the annoying ‘Clone’ stans who are whining that it’s unfair that we not getting any Clone sets this August. -
I don’t see how those two points are related. And the first point to Lego DC. But believe me I would love it if they did some DC space sets. (Green Lantern content would be guaranteed) What do you mean Star Wars is participating in it? It’s literally all set in space all the time. You’re on your own with this Jonkling today mate. The Aslume went Sane today. You can resume tomorrow.
