LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

I’ll be happy with just the June sets. But I really really want to see the August anniversary sets! Especially that Death Star play-set. -
Imperial Navy battlepack: 2 navy seamen (in style of 18th century British Royal Navy crewmen) and 2 redcoats (Tri-corn hat) Build is a Dinghy and a small parapet with canon. We seriously need an imperial flagship remake. As a Brit I would be overjoyed if Lego made a HMS victory set.

Justice League hero Family members/ prime earth versions of the main justice League that we are yet to get: Superman: Jon Kent, Power girl (probably never going to be made for obvious reasons) and Steel. Batman: Spoiler, Signal, Bluebird, Batwing, Red Robin, Robin (Carrie Kelly), Jace Fox and Cassandra Cain. Wonder Woman: Hippolyta, Artemis and literally all the Wonder-Girls (+ their respective later mantles) Green Lantern (earth-born only): Guy Gardner (probably the biggest crime as he’s had a leading roll in the Bizarro Lego Justice League film), Kyle Rayner, Jo Mullein, Alan Scott and Teen Lantern. Flash: All Kid-Flashes and Impulse. Aquaman: Lagoon boy, all Aqua-lads and Aqua-girls. Cyborg: Doesn’t have a family 😢 Green Arrow: Literally everyone in the arrow family except for Green Arrow, Speedy and Black Canary. Did I miss anyone?

I am jealous. You obviously haven’t witnessed the true extent damage that has been inflicted on the LSW community by Mandr and his lackeys. There were people on Reddit who fully knew about R2 KT’s origin when her news dropped and still said it was a bad choice and they’d have preferred to get Arc Trooper Echo or a Clone Commander who has only 5 seconds of screen time. LifeBricks did a video a few months ago (before he went dark) that focused solely on clones coming this year and saying it was unfortunate that there were not enough this year. 75% of all Lego You-Tube is dedicated to Clone Army building. The comments section of each Mandr video has essentially half the comments essentially saying “AskMandr: Why doesn’t Lego make Lieutenant Ball-Scratcher of the 69th legion? Is it because Lego hates their fans?” (that is a joke but they are asking for some unreasonably obscure clones) 90% of posts on r/LegoStarWars are just flaunting off people’s clone armies, complaints about helmet holes and Why doesn’t Lego make clone trooper xyz? However it isn’t as bad as YouTube as there’s r/LegoCircleJerk to mock them which always gives me a chuckle. Republic Studs (his content used to be good but he got worse when he started following the Mr Beast format), Lego Empire, True Squadron (at least he does original Mocs) and LifeBricks are all clickbait versions of Mandr. They put clones on the thumbnails of every video even if there isn’t a clone set. And don’t get me started on Jedi Bricks actively spreading fake rumours and being vague until he says he was right all along. Lego Star Wars YouTube is a joke. SolidBrix is a beacon of hope but he doesn’t upload enough to nullify the others. BrickYoda 5555 was a underrated YouTuber but he’s pretty much retired at this point. These people are actually on the verge of ruining the Clone Wars for me with their whining. I love clones but the people who act like it’s the only thing worth Lego sets are who make me insane. This forum is 100x better than YouTube because there is a friendly and fair community who have the right idea about the balance of sets for each trilogy. I love clones but Mandr’s followers are just the Lego equivalent of the Joker’s Goons. It’s literally almost a pro-clone anti-helmet-hole cult. My apologies for the rant. On a more positive note, I’m hyped for tomorrow evening’s reveals. Who else? -

Actually the website says, as @starwarslotrluvva stated, the live stream is on the 1st. I reckon just the anniversary sets are most likely from the August wave as then Lego will be able to reveal a good amount of others in July/ late June. That I disagree on as previously stated. Lego doesn’t usually like revealing the August wave in one go. If they just revealed the Anniversary sets in the livestream, they’ll still have 4 sets that they will be able to reveal on July 1st. (Buildable C3P0 , Jedi Bob’s Starfighter, X-Wing vs Tie and Dark Falcon) The excitement possibility is that there’s a strong chance we finally find out whatever the hell the Young Leia set is. I pray for a geonosis arena with a couple of clones. (Not because I want it to be but so the “clone fans” can cease their whining about there not being any sets for them.) -

What are we actually expecting to be revealed on Wednesday evening? I think that the June wave are definitely going to be revealed. But are we going to get some august anniversary set reveals? Especially seeing as they revealed all the remaining figures, since R2 KT doesn’t count anymore, in the video. -
If they did another one I’d like them to follow the format they did in the first one. 3 heroes with their original costumes (Batman, Wonder Woman and Flash.), 3 villains with classic costumes (Sinestro, Dr Joker and original Cheetah.), 2 90s hero suits (Huntress and Mr Miracle) and 4 modern day hero costumes (New 52 Superman, GL Simon Baz, Stargirl and Metamorpho. Here’s what i could see if they did another: Original 1930s-50s designs: Superman, GL Alan Scott, Dr Fate. Classic Villains: classic Cat-woman, classic Lex Luthor and Metallo. 90s Heroes: GL Kyle Rayner and Big Barda (to complement Mr Miracle) Modern Heroes: Wally West (Rebirth), Batman (Flashpoint), Wonder-Girl (Yara Flor) and Batgirl (Casandra Cain) Some of these are what I feel Lego would do. Not what I would like. Anyone feel this is a likely selection if they did another?

Oh. That’s a good point. That would be a great play-feature for kids. So is the X-Wing vs Tie going to be a army/ fleet builder with generic characters? And Renown’s tease really was just referring to Tarkin? Damn, I feel silly after all that speculation and research into it being new-republic based. It’s still probably not a movie-based set, due to the lack of anniversary figure, though. I mean… the Death Trooper, Scout Trooper with Speeder and Commander Cody were pretty good. But damn that AT RT would have absolutely slapped and blown all of them out of the water. -
We’ve been over this before turtle: Godzilla, King Kong Kong, Sauron (well technically we’re getting him this summer) and the Gremlins are all characters that showed up in that film and didn’t get any minifigures. It’s come to my attention that we’ve been sane for almost 3 days now (well everyone except Turtle). No mention of Luigi’s Pizzaria. Shall we keep it this way and forsake jonkling when we are in between news? Nah! Who else wants a minifigure of this beautiful Man? On a related note what is your favourite pizza on Luigi’s menu?

Ah. Ok. Carson’s was the only well-known enough x-wing I could find that had nose (forward hull) markings similar to the tease. I should probably never cook again. However, upon seeing your point I continued researching the hull markings of all the different X-Wings that would warrant sets. I found none (except for a fan design of Red 7) which matched the markings of the tease almost exactly. And seeing that the X-Wing vs Tie isn’t coming with an anniversary figure, I think we can definitely rule out the possibility of it being a OT set. Which begs the question. Is it perhaps based on Skeleton Crew, hence why we haven’t seen the design, or a Lego original design or maybe even, and I know this is a stretch, legends? It could just as well be labelled as a New Republic X-Wing to tie-in with all the mando-verse shows and indeed include Dr Pershing, Carson Teva and the actual pilot of the fighter. (maybe Zeb?) I’m sorry I jumped the gun on the Carson Teva X-Wing theory. At the time it was the only x-wing with screen time which matched the forward stripe lengths and gaps the closest. I hope so. I hope so. Cal might yet come with a poncho. -

I’ve been comparing the X-wing’s markings in the video with various sources. And I can confirm that that it doesn’t match the hull markings of Red 5. (Luke’s X-Wing) In fact, if you look closely, it actually looks more like Carson Teva’s hull markings from TBOBF. Thus supporting my theory of the X-Wing vs Tie being a New Republic based set. Here’s an image of Red 5 and Red 1 for reference. As you can see Red 5’s forward stripe (closer to the nose) is much shorter than what is displayed in the tease. Are there any other X-Wings that match the markings of the tease to a better degree than Carson’s? Because I fear I may be spit-balling with the Carson Teva theory. Either way the good news is that it’s definitely not Red 5. Which I believe makes it the first new X-Wing variant we’ve had since Poe’s TROS X-Wing. -
I can’t believe it but i’m actually going to defend Turtle here. At least he’s keeping this thread alive when the DC theme is potentially, from the looks of things, on its death bed. At least he appears to have a great passion for Batman. (Albeit he does so at the expense of ignoring other great DC characters.) I actually sort of admire him for being happy with the very little amount of sets we get. A quality I lost a long time ago. (I think it’s due to the lack of quality DC gets compared to that of Star Wars, my primary Lego theme, at the moment.) On another note… what variants/ adjacent sidekicks of the main Justice League/ DC heroes would you guys like Lego to make in the future which they have not done? Here’s mine: Batman: Thomas Wayne Batman (Flashpoint) Superman: Yellow Lantern Superman (Injustice) Wonder Woman: literally any of the Wonder Girls. (My preference is Cassie Sandsmark) Green Lantern: Kyle Rayner (I don’t care whether it’s his OG, White Lantern or Fusion suit. I just want him.) Flash: Wally West (Rebirth) Aquaman: Tempest (Rebirth) Cyborg: Grid (New 52) Robin (he’s iconic enough by himself to have his own category): Red Robin (New 52)

So you’re saying there’s a chance that Cal has some arm printing? Don’t do that. Don’t give me hope. -

What’s the likelihood that Cal still comes with a poncho? I’m guessing it’s very very low. Hopefully the new printing we saw on BD in the video is included in the DS playset to make up for the lack of poncho and arm printing. Anyway I’m looking forward to the May livestream as it looks like there will be some anniversary set reveals. Please no. Andor was great without lightsabers and the lack of cameos. As much as I love Cal I want Andor S2 to be its own separate thing. -

Ezra and Leia look great, so does Nien. I have only one problem… Cal doesn’t have a poncho!!!!! Why?!!!! (Still looks like a 10/10 figure though) I guess the video also confirms he will be coming with BD-1. And that maybe some of the May 4th live-stream reveals will be the august anniversary sets. -

Last I checked the advent calendar figures, well all but one, have already been confirmed to be: a 501st trooper, Ahsoka, B2 battledroid, Christmas Luke and Leia and one other unknown figure. My guess is that the unknown is a dark side character. Maybe Maul? Or Marrok? I think everyone who’s also on the DC thread sees where you’re going with this. Not yet. Not yet. It’s too soon. We must conquer our primary target before expanding the Aslume’s empire. On another note… seeing that the X-Wing Vs Tie set doesn’t seem to be getting an anniversary figure, unlike the rest of this Year’s OT playsets, I see that as suggesting it may be a retooled Rangers of The New Republic type of set. My current theory is that Carson Teva is the X-Wing pilot, we may see a return of the New Republic Navy officer from last Year’s ghost, a New Republic Fleet Trooper may be included and maybe one of the Imperial Shadow council members (most notably Captain Pellaeon) or even Dr Pershing could be included as well as the already confirmed Tie Pilot. Thoughts on this theory? -
Ironically, that would be better than what we are getting right now as that would suggest we would regularly get at least 5 other bat-family members. (Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing, Redhood and Red Robin) And the suit designs would frequently be updated. Blackadder and Monty Python are the cream of the platinum cob that is British comedy. (Blackadder goes forth is by far the best of its four seasons) Ah yes. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you my take on Luigi’s origin. His full name is Luigi Risotto. If that name sounds familiar, he’s the Italian Chef from The Simpsons. My theory is that he crossed over into the Lego DC universe during the events of Lego Dimensions. All because he was on the run from Fat Tony’s mob and he’d had enough of Homer’s shenanigans and Bart’s pranks. There, in Gotham city, he started up a brand new Pizza restaurant, the infamous Luigi’s pizzeria. One day he just happened to be serving a certain Dr Jonathon Crane (Scarecrow) who became so enamoured for the taste of Luigi’s delicious pizza that he befriended Luigi and even became a part time employee of the restaurant. Over the next few years, with the help of some extra funds from his pal Scarecrow, Luigi’s Pizzeria grew into a successful franchise. There are currently 5 different establishments in Gotham and 1 in Metropolis. Last year, thanks to the recent Lazarus rain event, Luigi gained the meta-human ability to create mind control pizzas. He immediately began to use that power to expand his pizza empire. Key DC characters that are under his sway include: The mayor of Gotham, Commissioner Gordon, Harvey Bullock, Renee Montoya, Tim Drake (Red Robin), Stephenie Brown (Spoiler), Cassie Sandsmark (Wonder Girl), Jessica Cruz and Simon Baz. (Green Lanterns) With his newfound lust for power and his new disciples he immediately started collecting artefacts that would aid him in his conquest of the pizza industry. So far he has dispatched his Green Lantern’s to retrieve the Phantom Lantern ring from the Armoury of the Guardians of the Universe on Oa, through his Bat-family connections he has obtained samples of Batman’s contingencies so that he can hold any heroes who try to stop him at bay (one of which is a kryptonite pizza topping) and thanks to his control of the leadership he has kept the GCPD from meddling in his schemes. That’s the lore I’ve come up with so far. Anyone else have any additions to the lore?

You’re probably right. Bravo. I’m actually impressed with your dedicated research. Well done. That means, unless he counts as one of the officers, one of the remaining unknown figures in the Death Star Playset is in fact Tarkin as many of us had theorised. My predictions for the remaining 3 figures are: a Death Star gunner (the set would feel incomplete without one even if there isn’t a gunning station), a Tie Pilot (the presence of a imperial crewman already suggests that there’s a hangar so why not?) and a imperial protocol droid. Those predictions are of course assuming that this set will be a true villain counterpart to Yavin. -
Batmobile looks good. However it’s just not for me. Same goes for the Bat Pod. The Batman mech is disappointing. They didn’t bother including an armoured variant of Batsy as a figure. Or at least included Joker like the Venom mech had Miles Morales due to it not being an original figure. That right there is proof that Lego puts more effort into Marvel than DC.
-
You’re right. Luigi’s pizza clayface, Luigi’s Pizza Jonkler, Luigi’s pizza Bane, Luigi’s pizza Mr Freeze, Luigi’s pizza Sinestro, and Luigi’s pizza Zod are all must haves. Move over Amanda Waller. Luigi is the new big villain task-force assembler. (Luigi is the most powerful mind-control meta in all the 52 earths.) Shall we make some lore for our lord and saviour Luigi the Pizza baker? Soon my insane friend. Soon.

Yeah. I haven’t seen the most recent episode. I was just saying that it could be a tie-in S2 Zillo beast. Also I don’t remember any Leakers saying that Young Leia (or Omega) was the only figure in that set. I might have missed or forgotten that detail though. Yes. I know. I was just stating my outlandish theory of mine when I saw other people theorise that @Renown’s 1984 quote was referring to a crosshair figure, i realised that the Young Leia set is probably the set we know the least about and therefore that would be where a Crosshair minifigure would most likely end up. I admit that I may have gotten carried away with my theory. So my apologies to anyone who may have also got carried away with my outlandish idea. My actual logical prediction for Renown’s 1984 quote is that one of the officers in the Death Star playset is ISB. However as @Classic_Spaceman rightfully reminded me there were only two ISB officers on the Death Star. (Yularen and his companion in the elevator scene) Therefore I theorise that the 1984 quote refers to either a updated Yularen (with a black cap to differentiate him from his may 4th figure variant) or a generic ISB officer (either based on his companion or just a random ISB officer from Andor because nerdy kids, like my younger self, will just think “Yay! ISB officer.”) I hope that clears things up. And I also hope that I didn’t cause any disinformation with my Bad Batch theory. Once again, apologies if I did.
